Recently someone asked me if there is such thing as a money tree. Short of using some glue and a lot of creativity, I have to say…no there isn’t a tree that will literally sprout bills out. 😉 However, if you really like the idea of a “money tree,” you might try something I made for a friend a few years back when he was out of a job.

You will need:

4 silver coins,

A large potted Jade Tree plant (available in most plant stores and florists,)

A green taper,

A fireproof container, such as a pie plate or cake tin,

REAL Money-Drawing oil

Cinnamon,

A candle holder,

A nail or pin,

Paper,

A pen,

A witness sample such as photo, blood, hair (etc.) of the petioner (optional.)

With your nail or pin carve either, “I am the recipient of bounty, prosperity, and wealth,” or “XX is the recipient of bounty, prosperity, and wealth,” up one side of the taper depending on if you are doing this for yourself or another. On the other side, carve the full name of the target of the spell. Take the paper, and write your (or the target’s) name 4 times, turn one quarter and write the same statement you wrote on your taper across the names you have written 4 times. It should resemble almost a 4-armed cross made out of letters. 🙂 Fold this paper once TOWARDS you putting the witness sample on the inside if you are using that option, and then turn a quarter turn, and fold it again, TOWARDS you. Put this aside.

Now, take your candle, and envision green and gold energy flowing into the candle from your power hand (the one that you write with,) until you sense that you have “filled” the candle with energy. When you have completely “filled” the candle with this energy, put a few drops of Money-Drawing oil into your palm, and rub the candle in an upwards motion (base to wick,) 4 times. Now take the candle and roll it in some ground cinnamon (the type you can buy in the grocery store,) so that it nicely coated in the herb.

Place the candle in its holder, placing the slip of paper you wrote on beneath the holder, and then arrange the 4 silver coins so that each one is equidistant (or approximately so) from each other and each represents a seperate compass direction (ie, N, S, W, E,) around the base of your candle holder. Once you have done this, you will want to light the candle. If you need to secure the candle into the holder with its own drippings, do so now. Now chant “XX, (or “I” if it is for youself,) you are blessed with bounty, prosperity, and wealth,” an odd number of times (3, 5, 7, or 9…I prefer 7,) and then say, “This spell shall not reverse, nor place upon me any curse, as is my will – so mote it be!” Allow the candle to burn out completely.

When the candle has extinguished, take the paper packet and the 4 silver coins, and, gently lifting the jade tree from its pot, place the paper in the bottom center of the pot with a little dirt under it, and the 4 coins around the paper in a similiar 4 directions pattern as they were described above for the candle ritual, approximately equidistant, but within the flowerpot. Replace the jade tree into the pot, adding a little new soil if it is needed for the health of the plant. Say to the jade tree, “O, jade tree, as you flourish under (“my” or target’s name)’s care, let (my/target’s name) prosperity and wealth flourish. As is my will, so mote it be!”

So long as the plant is well cared for and fed with plenty of light and water, it should help add to the prosperity of the individual the ritual is intended for.

As a side note here, last year, the jade tree I made for my friend suffered an unfortuanate accident, and was dropped and subsequently died. Within 2 weeks of the plant’s death, my friend lost his job and suffered a few weeks of financial ills. 😛 Don’t worry, he did get a new job in awhile and the money problems went away, but the plant needs to be treated well and have its health sustained to bless the person it is to bless. Death of the plant can result in almost a “backlash,” effect, so this is not a good gift idea for the friend of yours who is a notorious houseplant killer! 😉 Mind you, when the little tree was alive, my friend did quite well for himself… He asked me to make him another “Magic Tree,” but I haven’t yet gotten around to it because my jade tree doesn’t have enough “babies” ready to clip off and make some new trees without hurting my plant… I guess he will just have to wait for another “money tree” to sprout. 😉

Also, if you want to re-pot the plant, the original ritual should be redone before the repotting, using a fresh paper square, and the same 4 silver coins. I recommend using REAL silver coins, and Mercury dimes (real siver dimes, no longer in circulation for some years,) are available at many curio and occult shops.

I realize that sounds a bit complicated, so if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. It does make a fantastic gift, as a jade tree is easy to care for, and even all the better if it is a jade tree thats blessed to attract prosperity, eh? 😉

As always, this is all just my opinion, and you may not agree. Also, no guarantee, real or implied, is made about the effectiveness of this charm.

Blessings!
