Hello Occulties,

Well, here it comes again. 😉 The original Questions You’ve Asked Me post was such a hit, I have decided to do another one… Some of these questions are funny, some are serious, some are just questions I hear all of the time (funny or actually thought provoking,) so, without further ado…

Questions You’ve Asked Me, part 2

Q: Do you cast spells for other people?

A: Yes, I do. For a very long time, I actually didn’t because I preferred people learn how to do the spellwork themselves, but when I started taking on clients, I found that I actually enjoyed working on other’s behalves 85% of the time (as long as they weren’t crazy, as they are 15% of the time.) I still encourage people to do their own spells whenever possible, but I have found that there is a market for professional spellcasting, and since I am pretty good at what I do, I figured why not help people with my talent if they would prefer me to do the work. 😀 I charge reasonable prices, too, IMHO, so I guess in the long run, everyone is happy (except a few of my targets…heh heh heh…)

Q: You have said before that about 1-28 days is the time it will take a spell to work – is that always true?

A: Yes and no. After doing spellwork for years, there have even been times in my own life where I was blind to the fact that my work was in the process of manifesting, so I added “more gas to the fire,” so to speak, by doing another spell when I did not need to. There is no hard and fast rule that something will BEGIN to manifest within 1-28 days (sometimes it can take a little longer,) I simply feel that if you are doing your own work, you might as well do another spell if a moon-cycle has passed and you are not seeing visible results. This way, all of your bases are covered, and if your spell has begun to manifest, you are simply reinforcing it with another spell.

Q: I did a money spell about 5 months ago, and it worked for awhile, but now it isn’t working (I think.)

A: Certain spells do require maintance. If you expect a singular money spell to last you the rest of your life, you are barking up the wrong tree. Think of it like this, if you wash your clothes, are they clean forever? If you eat once, are you never hungry again? Hmmm… Well, thankfully magic/k lasts a bit longer than laundry or food, but if you are using say, prosperity magic/k on your business, you will want to repeat the blessing probably every month. You don’t have to even do it this often, but it will keep the spell “charged.” Spells can last a very very very long time (depending on the type of spell, the power behind it, etc,) but most of them will not last forever. This is why mojo bags (sometimes called “tobies” or gris-gris bags,) are “fed.” To keep them alive and strong – it keeps the magic/k inside “alive.” 🙂

Q: Do I have to light my candles in some special way to get them to work as well as yours do?

A: Believe it or not, I get this all of the time… So… My main rules regarding candles are:

All candles: Use a lighter, not matches. Do not EVER EVER EVER blow out a candle – snuff it! Also, try to charge your candle by envisioning your desires flowing from your power hand (the one you write with,) into the candle. ALWAYS keep your candles (even with candle holders,) in a place where they will not cause a fire hazard!!!

Free-standing candles: To bring something to you, anoint up from base to wick. To send something away, anoint down wick to base. Carve a basic statement of intent or a rune on your candle (up to bring to you, down to send away.) Carve your target’s full name on the candle or your full name on the candle (depending on the spell.)

Figural candles: Put your target’s initials on the candle’s “chest” or “back.” Try to secure a witness and place this in the base of human figural candles. Place your paper square (or name paper,) directly beneath the candle even if the candle may burn it up.

Glass-encased vigils: Always dress, set, bless, pray, then light and pray – remember, some supply houses do not bless and dress your vigils…in fact, so far as I know, only the Lucky Mojo does, so you may have to do this yourself. 😉 Regardless of the instructions inscribed on your vigil, always place some form of name-paper beneath a vigil.

Hmmm… I’m sure I’m forgetting something there, but that’s all that comes to mind.

Q: I don’t have a small table for an altar…and I don’t have room for an altar, etc…what can I use?

A: Be creative. I lived in a tiny apartment back in college and used the top of my TV with great success for 1 full year, so I suspect you can do something similiar. TV trays work nicely if they are sturdy… Kitchen counters… You can use any space, and clean it up when you are done… If you want a permanent altar, all the better, but no one ever said you NEEDED one to work magic/k well. All I recommend is MINIMIZING your fire risks!

Q: Do you ever use spirits in your work?

A: Not often, but sometimes. I recommend that you have some experience with magic/k before working with certain spirts such as Santisma Muerte. However, if you are working with the Intranquil Spirit or with an ancestor, you will probably do just fine. It does help, however, to leave an offering for your ancestors (or any spirit,) if you request their help.

Q: Why won’t my boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband come back to me?

A: Well, I don’t know, – what did you do? Remember, you are working on them, and it is a process… Spellwork is not a magic bullet that will instantly fix all of your problems, and if you stalk, harass, threaten, annoy or just cause problems to your ex in general, you are acting AGAINST your spell. I can’t stress this enough… Casting a spell, and then calling John or Mary 10 times after you cast the spell is not really working for your spell…you are stalking someone… 😛 Look at it this way, let them come to you, and just keep casting… They will come back soon enough… And remember, a watched pot never boils and a worried spell never manifests. Keep your mind off of your spellwork when you are not actually doing the casting, and it will work faster! 😀

Q: Do death curses really work?

A: Yes, but I don’t recommend doing anything in the magic/kal that you would not do in the mundane. For example, if you are unwilling to murder someone with your bare hands, you shouldn’t go about casting death curses upon them.

Q: If spells work why aren’t you a billionare?

A: I never asked to be a billionare or cast a spell to be a billionare. If spells don’t work, why are you concerned about it?

Q: Isn’t it illegal to get graveyard dirt?

A: I have never heard so, but I guess it would vary from state to state… However, I know a woman who planted some type of shrub on her mother’s grave, and actually dug it up this year to replace it (the shrub, not her mum,) so I suspect lots of dirt was flying everywhere… This leads me to believe that you can take a handful of dirt off of someone’s grave (remember to pay the interred person, please,) legally.

Okay, my occulties, that’s all I can think of for now…but I know you keep asking me questions, so I assume there will be more Questions You’ve Asked Me forthcoming in the future. 😀

Blessings!

i have a question in regards to the “Intranquil Spirit”, what kind of offerings do i provide the spirit. When i asked and meditated, only chocolate candy came up and water?
should i keep asking, and for now, provide the above. i am asking the spirit for a big favor.
    thanks

I don’t leave any offering for the Intranquil Spirt – the candle is the offering more or less. I don’t really wish to keep it around me, so I’d discourage leaving a gift for it.
