Hey everyone,

Well, I have had a few…er, interesting clients in my day, but now I have one trying to extort money from me! :S Since I had to bring this up on my site, and I know there will be questions, being the forthright individual I am, I am just going to relate the story here.

Some months back, I was contacted by a woman who wanted me to help her with a relationship issue. She seemed very normal, very laid back, and very civil, so I was of course thrilled to take her on. I like civil clients as much as the next person. 😉

Although as many of my clients know I do recommend the “let them come to you, do not contact them first,” stance in relationship cases, and I do remember saying something of this nature to her, she apparently contacted her “intended,” first because she had told me the situation had worsened. We agreed to do a recast for which I was not paid.

In a few weeks (total about 4 weeks or so from me taking her case, this is approximated,) she reported that the result was not what she had wished and inquired about a refund. I said, “You need to wait at least another 1.5 months, and then just EMAIL me and I suppose I can refund you.” Mind you, her case fell well outside of the refund clause, but I was feelin’ generous.

Some time later, she emails to complain the refund hadn’t been sent. Considering she needed to email me to get said refund, (which I clarified at that time,) I apologized, got a money order, and then promptly forgot to mail it because I’m a tool. She did remind me. Sometime a little later, I mailed the money order.

Weeks later I get another email from her saying she’s received nothing. Well, I hate the US Postal Service sometimes (it happens that stuff gets lost,) so I took $100 cash out of my own wallet, didn’t even check to see if the money order was cashed, wrapped it up tight, and again I placed this in an envelope waiting to go out.

Between here and there I had an incedent where I was worried about my dog and also my friend was killed. Unfortunately since I am not usually the one to put stuff out into the mail, and I’d wanted it to go out with a tracking number, someone else did post it for me, and unbeknowst to me. I feel bad for misinforming her this morning (see story below,) that it was here (I’d not mailed it,) but when I realized it had been mailed, I actually felt bad because I wanted to priority mail 10,000 pennies or something (yeah, its immature, but he he, you would too if you had to deal with this c***, and I don’t use the word lightly.)

This morning I receive a threatening letter about her wanting more money. My first reaction since I had to go to bury my friend this morning was to tell her to kiss off and I’d send the envelope I have when she asked me for my f+++ing money personally, elsewise she could wait until I had him in the ground. I am a bad mailer, but you tell someone to wait for you to pay, then tell them someone died, they usually act like a human being.

Nope.

So after that I discovered more money had been mailed to her, told her as much and she again threatens legal action. Mind you, the gas and court fees will cost her more than the $100.

She has continuously harrassed me all day, she postulated that she’s an attorney (hard to believe, she’s a little too unstable and can’t even directly phone me,) and I literally had to call the Ipswich, Mass police and my local police department to get a cease-harassment order. She now wants to take me to court for a $100 fee that I’ve refunded (despite her not being deserving of said refund,) twice. I’ve also looked in my record and there is no copy of a money order receipt from her and I copy them before I cash them for my records. I’ve also been threatened that she wants to extort money from me for “making false claims” that I never made. She refused to follow directions and she did not read the disclaimer. I am not a mean person usually, but this really gets to me. What sort of low-character would even start this drama when I am obligated to bury a friend. I know my mailing abilities can be rage invoking, but for goodness sake, I wanted to open up that envelope so I could go to the bank and get all $1 bills and send them to her because I was that irked and sorry I couldn’t FedEx a wad of ones. Heh heh heh…

As for the guy, you know, I’ve reconciled a lot of people, but I’m really really happy I “didn’t succeed,” because she worked against my instructions, and that she did chase him away. I mean, I wouldn’t wish her on my worst enemy. 😉

Now, for those of you who know me, I do and I have refunded people before. I love you and if you’d like to submit a statement on my behalf I will appreciate it most kindly. 🙂 I would also love to hear some love from anyone. I’ve dealt with some difficult people in my day but this one is pretty bad… If she had picked a day on which I didn’t have to plant a friend I’d never even have had the cease-harrassment order. I would have probably gotten another $100 and sent it. I will publically admit to being a complete horse’s butt and having actually paid people 3-4 times on other occaisions before realizing I’d done that. 😉

Anyhow thanks for listening to me bitch….since many were curious. Sorry for the pissy news…it will be better in a week or so when she realizes she has no foot to stand on. 😉 Hey, maybe I’ll get 1 of the 2 payments I sent her, too! LOL!

Thanks all. More FUN stuff coming.

    Hey Cat,
Just a short note to tell everyone that this psycho must be realy disturbed because i know for a fact that she refunds. (she refunded me for a reading she didnt have time to do and said she would do it free of charge when she finds time). I had sent her money without scheduling it in and she offered to do it for free because she delayed with doing the reading which was my fault because i never booked a date in advance.Dont worry Cat, we support you 100%

There are many charlatans out there, and its sad that this person is putting Cat in that category. Cat has helped me, and so many people with their problems, and I know for a fact many times taking the expenses out of HER OWN POCKET! She doesn’t believe in hand holding, but helping people help themselves. This person is an isolated case, and I hope we can all support Cat so she can get back to important things…you know, like sane clients 😉

I have to be honest and say now that she can’t legally harrass me anymore I feel absolutely relieved like 20 pounds has been lifted off of my back. I’d no idea of how much her persistant heckling was effecting me. I also want to thank everyone for the private and public notes of support, and even offers to help in any way. You all mean so much to me, and I feel honored and blessed to have so many awesome friends, clients, and people who wish me well.
    Love,
