4 Basic Tenets….

Recently, I have had several instances of readers and clients who, in their excitement, are breaking the 4 basic tenets of casting a successful spell, at least in these popular rules, which to my knoweldge are Hermetic in origin (but really, they apply to all spell platforms.) These are as follows, “To Know, To Will, To Dare,” (sometimes said “To Do,”) “And To Be Silent.” The final in that number is obviously one which is the most difficult for many to follow.

Allow me to discuss this in some more depth, in the hopes that this will educate you all, and I will have less emails containing information about you unintentionally killing your own spell energies off. 😉

To Know: Obviously, to cast a spell, we must first know how to cast that spell. 😉 A mage must know how to use energies, how to perform the ritual, and how to use magic/kal technique to his/her benefit. Although I am aware of people who are not STRONGLY in the know about spellcasting, most of you have accepted that you must learn about the spell and how to cast it before casting said spell. 😉 This one is an easy one for most of us. 😉

Obviously, if you are hiring someone to cast a spell for you, I would believe (or hope,) that this person is already quite proficient in this area. 😉

To Will: This means to cast a successful spell, the mage must have a very strong desire and a strong “will,” to use and weild the energy within him/her to bring about the final result through spellwork. For example….several people are seeking an ex back, and they very very strongly wish this person to come back, and would be, therefore, seeking to focus their will and use this desire to form spell energies (to will their energy if you would,) to bring this person back.

More properly, your desire and intent should be clear, therefore creating a strong ability to will the energy. Again, if someone is casting your spell for you, I again assume (or hope,) they are perfectly capable of this.

To Dare (To Do): Ah, the first 2 are easy and here is where it gets difficult. Obviously, if we want to use spellwork, we must therefore USE spellwork! 😉 And not just USE it – this is not “well, I can go through the motions,” lol, we must perform the spell properly with the right level of energy and the appropriate ritual.

Before all of you get terrified by that, lol, please understand…there is high ritual, and then there are the easy spells I teach here. The stuff on this blog is NOT high ritual, and you should be capable of working many of these spells quite well even if just a novice in spellcraft. 😉

If a person is casting your spell for you, we assume again, that they are more than capable of this, as well.

To Keep Silent: My goodness, are those all your eyes rolling at me? Hmm… Your friend, Cat, constantly repeats this one, so she is gonna repeat it again…

See, when you cast a spell, you are creating energy and willing it towards a certain end. Others, when alerted to your spell, can also unconsciously create energy (some people refer to this as “thoughtforms,”) which can – even if unintentional on the part of the person doing this, – cause great harm to your spell. It is for the best of all to not only keep silent regarding what spell you are casting, but to even keep the fact that you are casting a spell (or having one cast on your behalf,) entirely silent as well…this helps to ensure PROPER manifestion occurs, and also that no well-meaning person will create a problem with your spell energy or spell manifestation.

However, once a spell has completely manifested, you can speak of it as much as you please. 😉

Now, if you are having a spell cast for you, this often causes a few issues. The petitioner (person wanting the spell cast,) must keep silent, as should the mage. As a professional spellcaster, I am more than capable of never speaking of a spell I cast for you… And even better, my loved ones do not have any desire to hear about your spell anyhow. 😉 Unfortunately many petitioners feel they can speak at great lengths about an active spell to as many people as they choose, which often creates a situation in which OTHERS are “thinking the spell to death,” for the petitioner…

If the mage cannot properly acheive complete adherence to these 4 rules then the spell will probably have limited or no success. If the petioner (should that not be the mage,) cannot adhere to the 4th rule, then the spell will have limited or no success.

Of course there are times during which you may have to discuss a certain aspect of a spellcasting with someone knowledgable – if you come to me looking for advice about spellcasting, I am not so apt to make a thoughtform which may kill your spell (unintentionally or not,) – BUT, your Uncle Rudy or your BFF Stacey, or your electrician Jeremy with little or no expertise in spellcasting is apt to think your spell to death for you because they do not know better. 😉 If you contact a knowlegeable spellcaster (not just me,) they can probably give you help on active spell without creating a problem with your active working… But be warned, even posting to large forums (filled with smarty-pantses of the occult,) can cause a problem, because several neophyte spellcasters are often very excited and want to “Think out,” your spell for you in an effort to learn or to help. So, the next time you cast a spell (or have one cast,) try to go to that forum BEFORE you have your spell cast to get the knowledge you are seeking.

If you take some time to try to leanr and adhere to these four basic tenets of successful spellcasting, you should soon find that your spellcastings have stronger, faster, and better manifestion. This is why these rules have been around for an incredibly long time (much much longer than I have, lol,) – BECAUSE THEY WORK. 😉
