Sorry for the delay. Your friend Cat is having a hideous time with this new “improved” site editor here – it freezes up all of the time and I need to save and then re-open my post so I can edit it. I make a lot of typos. 😉 I never even spell check anything (can you tell,) hand correct my typos, compose in where I need to write my own html, and the effing thing freezes up. :X

Alrightey, on to your questions…

Q: When spellcasting, do I need to wait for the moment my candles go out to inter my name papers?

A: No, I feel if you inter them within a reasonable amount of time it has no negative effect on the spell. I’d sure be wasting a lot of my day sitting in my ritual area if I had to wait for the exact moment each candle self-extinguishes. 😉 After the spell candle has finished, try finding a time within the next 24 hours to inter the paper, and you should not expect any sort of negative effect to the spell.

Q: Do you think that some people are gifted with a natural ability to cast spells, and others lack the gift? I know you say everyone can learn, but knowing how to do something doesn’t mean someone is successful at it.

A: I would agree that some people are more naturally endowed with an ability to cast spells, and other need to work harder to learn to successfully cast a spell, – however, being or not being successful with
spellcraft is less to do with whether or not you are naturallly endowed with the ability to cast spells and more to do with your ability to control your mind and your actions.

Everyone can learn spellcraft, and most if not all will succeed with it to some degree. That there are those that just start spellcasting with wild success while others need to practice and study is just like any other sort of ability human beings can master. I picked up spellcraft and had few problems becoming adept at it quickly, while others struggle with it – however I tried to learn to play an instrument, and have never had an easy time learning music while others pick up a guitar and practically instantly can play rather well. This doesn’t imply any person is less or more gifted, just that we are all endowed with certain inclinations towards different talents. If we were all endowed with the same gifts and predilections, the human race probably would not have survived and adapted as well as we have, so this is a good thing.

I think the main problem with spellcasting is how much control the spellcaster has over his or her mind. For example, I can seperate myself from my situation enough to keep it out of my mind – therefore, while I certainly have the ability obsess to the nth degree (as I think we all can if we let ourselves,) I am also able to live my life and let the situation go enough to have it manifest. 😉 Other people can’t let their situation go enough to let the spell manifest. They claim they can’t “help themselves,” and need to sit alone and obsess about their situations. Well, they won’t have much success. You need to let the situation go, and allow the spell to manifest.

Another issue is self-control outside of just your mental state. Remember, I always say that proper action and proper thought are important factors in spellcraft. If you cast a super strong spell, don’t think it to death, and then freak out when you see your ex and chase them down the street with an axe…well, your reconciliation spell will not work. At all. Ever. I realize most of us know not to chase people down the street with an axe no matter how tempted we may be sometimes, but I am trying to get across that spellcraft is not a safety net against crazy behavior, and what might strike some people as “normal,” is far from it to the rest of the world. For example, when someone tries to come back to you, in the initial stages where they are calling and saying they miss you, badgering them about who they’ve been out with in your absence and then trying some emotional blackmail on them is not helpful whatsoever to your cause. Neither is smothering them. Or if you want to make money and cast a spell to do so, sitting in your home doing nothing and speaking to no one (just watching a lot of old movies on AMC, say,) is not apt to help increase your income. Work WITH your spell, not against it. If you can’t, you probably won’t be a successful spellcaster.

So…while I agree some people do have a natural talent, and some need to work to acheive the same level of success, I believe we can all be successful spellcasters. Usually the problems people have preventing spell manifestation are rooted in behavioral and emotional problems. If those problems can be overcome, then a higher level of success with spellcasting will be reached.

Short answer, we can all be successful if we try to be, though some people may have to work through behavioral and emotional issues before they see strong success.

Q: In your opinion, what is the best course of action for someone who has been cursed or has had a spell put on them?

A: First of all, if you have some protective spells, and do a regular cleansing of yourself and your area, you are going to go a long way towards protecting yourself from being affected from another’s spellcraft.

However, someone may get through. If such is the case, and you know or or are reasonably certain that you know who the culprit is, your next recommended course of action should be to reverse the spellcraft put on you. This person sent it to you, you are simply giving them back what they sent so that they can enjoy it. 😉 When you’ve reversed the spellcraft (or if you just wanted to remove rather than reverse the spell,), I recommend taking a 13-herb bath to cleanse off residual negativity. You may need to do a cleansing spell before taking your 13-herb bath if you choose not to reverse but just remove the spell.

Cleanse your home, and look for charms which may have been left. Scan your yard, your car, your home (under, inside,) everywhere on your property for suspicious looking items or weird mounds (a buried charm.) Should you encounter anything, let your friend, Cat, know because you need to dispose of it.

Now, be sure to stregthen your protective spells around you. Protection spells are prevention for you – if you’re well protected, it will be very difficult for those using spells against you to be successful.

Q: What is the best herb to use for getting someone to communicate with you?

A: For an herb, I’d recommend tobacco, however both parrot feathers and quicksilver/mercury are also useful in illiciting communication (not that one is advised to handle mercury, as it is poisionous,
and I legally can’t advise you to procure it and use it for magic/kal purposes…not that I can stop you if you do decide to use it, I just have to warn you that its bad for you to handle, and could be illegal to possess. Nanny-state warning over.)

Q: If spellwork can’t be guaranteed, and its something which requires the petitioner to have faith in it to work, why, in your opinion, should anyone believe it to be real?

A: First of all, if something had to work all of the time for me to believe it were real, there would be several appliances and vehicles in my past which must be a figment of my imagination since they all broke down and didn’t work. Also…people who’ve been consitpated don’t have colons then (I never get backed up, I tend to be on the other side of that particular spectrum, so my colon isn’t imaginary,) because if their butt can’t make poop (at least there is no visible result manifested in the toilet,) that tells me, by your thinking, that which doesn’t work all of the time does not exist, ergo their colon is non-existant.

BUT CAT, you say, I HAVE CONCRETE PROOF OF COLONS, CARS, AND APPLIANCES. THOSE ARE PHYSICAL THINGS. TRY AGAIN.

Sickness… Its been proven that if you have faith in the drug/medicine/treatment used to treat your sickness, you heal faster. 🙂 Also, sometimes a treatment doesn’t work, despite all best efforts…does it make the treatment fake if 99% of the world is cured by it and you are in the errant 1%? No, the treatment is still real and believable.

Having faith in the medical treatment improves results, but no results are guaranteed. Hmm…food for thought.

There are so many mysteries humans are too small-minded to understand. I view spellcraft as that which science has not yet learned how to quantify, therefore they make the excuse that its not real. Come now, if you told people 500 years ago about atoms and atomic particles and whatnot, I’d be roasting marshmallows over your heretical corpse while we burned it at the stake…or we’d have put you in an insane asylum for just not making sense. People used to think the world was flat, too.

While skepticism is good, assuming something is fake simply because you are going to succeed more if you have faith in it (true of anything in life – faith = increased success,) and because it doesn’t work all of the time (sorry about that 1% or so,) doesn’t make much sense to me, but you are free to think however you please. I’m not telling you to think its real. If you don’t think its real, you are an easier target to me anyhow. I don’t have to tell you what I’m doing, and only the petitioner needs to believe in themselves…even then I’ve seen a few doubting Thomases impress themselves when they were skeptical, so pure faith is apparently not required, either.

Anyhow, I can’t guarantee the sun will rise tomorrow, so anyone telling you anything is guaranteed in life is full of s*** and potatoes.

Also, why are you reading my site if you think spellcraft is BS? That says a lot about you. 😉
