Constantly asking practitioners for substitutes is sometimes a bit ridiculous. 😉 Check the spell you want to cast and if one of the ingredients seem pretty important, and you, for whatever reason, cannot get ahold of it, try picking a different spell. I can’t count the number of times someone said “What can I substitute for x” when the “x” they wanted to sub was likes asking me “What can I substitute for meat when I’m making a meat loaf?” or “Is there a sub for flour in this bread?” 😉

Furthermore, while this is not always true, more oft than not, getting a certain ingredient is just a matter of making some effort to get it, and not any impossibility. If it really just means you have to problem solve to get the ingredient, then I recommend using that grey matter in your head (remember that brain thing? Its, like, good for thinking on your own, and like figuring stuff out on your own using logic and stuff like that?) to problem solve as to how you’re going to get the ingredient. 😉

Cat, I don’t have a brain, so is there something I can substitute for it?

Well, if you rearrange 2 letters in your name you can make it into a brain. 😉
