Q: Can I be part of your spell trials? How are those going?

A: I am actually closing up the trials for now, and am hoping to get this refined a bit and placed online if it meets the level of success I want. If I feel it needs more tweaking and more experimenters I'll let you know. Anyone who's testing who hasn't reported back after 3-4 weeks wait for manifestation, please let me know how this is going.

It's not entirely top secret. Basically, while doing spirit work with another practitioner, it was requested of me that I help this spirit reach more people that he might help more people. I asked him to show me what he meant, and I was shown a similar method to setting a light. I was told if people attempt this first, he might be willing to help just with that, and the payment being the candle and placing his seal out in public (spreading his fame.) That if he would not provide the requested outcome for offering of the candle and spreading his fame, that no harm would come to the petitioner, but rather he would just not help. The petitioner could ask again, but it might mean they needed to send someone to evoke him or to evoke him themselves to have a proper meeting so he could arrange an agreement he felt was suitable for payment (if he'd agree at all.) (It was not that he'd just appear in a cloud of sulfurous smoke, going "What the hell do you want?" as a few people asked, heh, – either it's no movement or you get what you want.) This would make him far more accessible to more people (because the pomp and circumstance around conjuring a spirit is very advanced work and many people don't really get to that point in their occult-journey, – and traditionally this spirit is evoked, rather than passively petitioned,) which apparently this spirit really wants.

Some people reacted poorly to this and found it scary as there is a lot of dumb false bullshit regarding this spirit online, others found it intriguing, and others were just excited to join in on the ride, and so far the results have been interesting. What I have discovered is that it should be KEPT SIMPLE, and while I said as much to my testers, it should also be kept realistic. The more simple the request, the more movement I've seen.

Another interesting thing – for me anyhow, – is that my testers who were raised Catholic seem to have the easiest time with this ritual, and have been showing more success in their outcomes so far. It's very similar to petitioning a saint. I'm grateful for all of the interest I've had in this, and I hope to have the ritual posted online for the public shortly. It's so easy that a lot of my friends who love evoking spirits are totally going to "facepalm" and ask if I've lost my mind telling people they can petition this type of spirit as so. I was actually happy to see a week or two ago that on Facebook, Jake Stratton-Kent (highly respected author on such matters,) said some of them can be approached this way.

Q: Do I need to dispose of my candle wax ritually?

A: I generally do not, but it depends on the spell, and if your spell specifies to take ALL of the remains to some place, then you should very well do so. Wax is gross and can remain in an environment for a long time, and I try to keep anything that is harmful to the critters outside in my rubbish bin and not outside. So, I do throw out my glass chimneys on seven day candles, I do throw out my old candle wax, and what I place outside is generally paper, or paper inside of a biodegradable item. On occasion, if someone is very unlucky, I've been known to bury a glass jar full of old metal, nails, pins, etc and a trace of them near where they live, so I'm not sure that means I'm 100% environment friendly. *evil grin*

Q: I've noticed some paranormal activity post spellcasting…and not over what I was spellcasting for…is that…normal?

A: No, it's not normal, especially if you're not raising spirits (evocation.) What is probably going on is you had something in your home to begin with. Now, if you're talking about ghosts/poltergeists/similar, what probably happened is you disturbed that being or alerted it that you're there. It thinks you can notice it. Before you go ahead and blame magic like you wanted to, realize this same being/entity would also be aroused by the presence of children starting puberty, a person who recently dealt with trauma or tragedy, divination, bringing in a new baby, new construction on the existing structure you live in or within close proximity, thereto, and many other rather mundane things.

While I recommend ritually cleaning your home, if the problem persists and/or becomes troublesome, you may wish to do all spellwork OFF the premises.

Q: Why did you take so long to reply? *inconsolable weeping and/or seething anger*

A: I didn't. My business hours are 9:30a-4:30p M-F Eastern time with all legal holidays off. Technically I only ever need to be replying and working during those hours. That's unrealistic that I'll never be working outside of them, but if you assume I need to reply to your email you sent me at 2:30am on Friday right away, then I'm sorry, but I'm not getting out of bed to deal with your email.

I do check for emergencies every single day. I do cast spells outside of posted hours. I am not particularly fond of the absurd amount of typing my job requires (it's seriously more typing than most administrative assistants, heh,) so it does just so happen sometimes I do decide I'm not doing email work on my days off or after 5p or so because I've had a rough week, and I'm not obligated to work then.

Also, you RESET YOUR WAIT if you email me before I can reply. So this can be tons of fun. Imagine you email me on Thursday night, then again on Friday morning. Then you email me Sunday night, putting yourself behind EVERY SINGLE PERSON who emailed me this weekend. It's an annoying system if you're impatient. Patient people do well on it. 🙂 BUT, if I'm as busy as I've been? I find the impatient people getting really really upset after the weekend if I've had the audacity to, you know, actually enjoy the two days off that I am supposed to have every week.

Q: Are some love spell targets harder to work on than others?

A: Yes and no.

Look, you want the easy answer, and that's yeah, some people can be harder to get them attracted or re-attracted to a certain other someone, sometimes. It takes planning and trying to find their triggers that will make them do the what you want. But that's a dumb and obvious answer.

It's really something where it is a case by case basis. You have to keep in mind how long the problem has been going on, the nature of the person who wants the target (are they explosive, do they lack responsibility for their actions, do they lash out easily, do they blame shift with such statements as "I was upset so that's why I burned down your house," are they morose, are they upbeat, do they use drugs and alcohol, are they desperate, what do they have to offer the intended in love, etc,) and then also the target. It's not JUST the target. You can have the easiest and most suggestible target alive, and if the petitioner is a jerk, it will never come together. You might also be working on a stubborn jerk that will not want to budge even though the petitioner is an absolutely LOVELY human being who most of us would gladly chase with our hearts on our sleeves.

Plus, think of your worst love affair – I don't care if you were 14 when this happened, but think of the one where you made the most mistakes and acted out, and etc. Realize there are people seeking to fix relationships they beat up worse than possibly your worst moments. Are they bad people? Probably not, but they made a really bad mess. That isn't the target that's hard to work on then – it's the situation, and this person needs to be more responsible for themselves. If they don't improve themselves, the desired situation and the desired person will never come to them.

Now think of the worst person you ever dated – the one that was a real jerk/bitch, a real cold fish or whatever. Realize there are people who want someone that bad, who want to change them into a person that person never can be. That's not a hard target – that's someone who wants a person to be completely different than his or her nature. It's not going to work well if it works at all.

So, it's a hugely complicated thing. It's why I interview people before accepting love work. It's not always going to be good or easy, and at least half the time, the problem IS NOT the target. Are some targets harder than others? Of course, but some situations are more complicated, and some petitioners are super difficult, too.

Q: Why is urine used in some love spells?

A: The law of signatures is probably to "blame" here. 😉 Basically, urine is used as a sexual marker by many animals. It signals the sexual availability of the female (is she fertile right now, for example) as well as the strength and desirability of the male and female. It is used to mark territory. Lastly it is excreted from the genitals. While it may carry an "ick" factor to us today, when chamber pots were a common household fixture (before the advent of plumbing) the use of "chamber lye" (urine) was very widespread in magic.

That's all for this edition of Questions You've Asked me, kids. 🙂 Hope to be back soon with some more fun articles for all of you! 😀
