Hey everyone,
So an increasing question lately has been did someone curse me, and for the 10 billionth time, I don't think so, however it's become clear someone did try to hack my computer, hack my blog, hack my website, launch a DDoS attack this weekend, and pretty much be a shit. 😛 I'm OK, and all the passwords have been changed (and I can work around a keylogger better than they realize,) the very sick computer has been firewalled, a mac is on it's way, and we don't need to expect further problems here. 🙂
In fact, I'm reasonably sure I know who the culprit is, and even if I'm mistaken, I have taken care of the situation in the magical so that THE VERY CULPRIT/S will be dealing with their own problems soon enough…I don't need a name. 🙂 If I do get clear proof of who was behind the hacking and the DDoS attacks, then I am pretty sure I can press federal charges, so that's also awesome.
It's also a blessing in disguise. I'd wondered at why I was dealing with so much financial suckitude. Normally I do deal with some suckitude that is not relating to business or technology, but I don't have it effect business so you don't have to hear of it. I probably should have realized that when my email wasn't delivering replies, this probably was the start of it, but the host I use has been crappy long enough that it didn't really hit me that it would be connected to anything else. Heck, just tonight I had an email from someone sent at 8pm my time arrive at midnight. 😛 BUT IT ARRIVED. 😛 See, that's just it. I've been with this host for years. I've not had this problem until a few months ago. As the tech issues soon began to snowball, I realized…this is not a curse, it's just some asshole. Someone wanted me to have everything break down to both frustrate me and others I speak to frequently.
Luckily that means I don't have to worry about this really happening further. I can fix technology, and I can protect my websites and my literature, – it's the easiest thing.
I suspect this person really wanted me to lose money, which would make it impossible in their mind for me to overcome these circumstances. Luckily I am blessed with friends, family, and fans who wouldn't let me get so frustrated, I'd give up.
Great things are coming, I'll soon have time to write more awesome articles, my MUCH DELAYED restart to class is coming October 1, and we can all stop having to wonder if Mercury personally retrograded into my home, haha. ;)
So, no, I'm not cursed. I'm actually pretty blessed. Someone tried their hardest, and I was so blessed that here I am still working for a lot of fantastic people, still teaching and writing for a lot of fantastic people, and whoever tried to have a go at me in the technological sense is really not going to enjoy the fruits of their labors. 😀 In fact, they are actually raising my place in Google so that I'll get more REAL HITS from new readers…it's like the opposite of their intention, while also putting themselves in the path of my ire and possibly getting charged with some criminal stuff that's pretty serious.
Thanks for your concern, everyone. I think I have a handle on it all. I'm also really psyched to be offering services to international clients again. 🙂 Yay!
