Hi Occulties!

Things are getting better. Thanks again for all of your emails and good wishes… If everything goes as I hope, I should be back up posting spells to all of you soon.

Vodoudancer

If any of you want to help, just keep sending me and the fella your good wishes, prayers, and energy. We really appreciate it!

In the meantime, I wanted to share a spell with all of you. It’s creator is a friend of mine who goes by the handle, Silver Knight. The platform is Chaos Magic/k. Anyhow, enjoy the Cauldron of Time spell. I wish you all luck.

Now I must return to fixing things in the House of Cat.

Blessings!

~Cat

I have read just about everything on your site. Pretty good stuff. Was supprised at your rantings about hoodoo being a beginners craft, and Wicca being intermediate. I don’t find that to be so . In fact I would say the reverse is true, and that Hoodoo can be taken to a very high art form.My experience is that the Wicann covens do not take care in there castings and leave to much undone. They are to pre ocupied with the ritual and not with where they are taking the world.
I have never found a casting that did not work. However some are just a flash in the pan. Pretty much reflecting what the caster wanted.
Certainly agree with your stand on racism in the Hoodoo practice. I personally do not know any African American’s who practice it. All that I know are white.
These practicianers are defently practicing a cross culture form of the craft that encomposes a wide variety of casting that come from all over the world. My personal experience is that a spell from one culture can be over layed onto a spell from another culture.
Probably this form of craft should be given a new name so as not to afend those reductionist of the world.

Well… I think you misread me a bit… Personally, I find a lot of “Pop-Wicca,” way too complicated in the sense that it has SO much pomp and circumstance… If I want that… I will just go back to Ceremonialism…eep, my robe is chafing. 😉 Also, Wicca is a very religious form of spellwork as it is …well, a religion. 😉 Either way, I have dabbled in the Wiccanism, and personally feel that Hoodoo, on the whole, has more of a bite to it than a lot of Wicca spells…plus Hoodoo is not so concerned with “karmic backlash,” and laws of 3, so …on top of which Hoodoo can be practiced by anyone, and Wicca is something that is for Wiccans. 😉
Hoodoo is great in the sense that I CAN simplify it enough for the masses to use without having to sit here and try to explain charging things and energy, etc… Or drawing a circle,… Basically, when I try to explain other platforms people get confused or it just rankles their religious beliefs… “Cat, you want me to pray to WHAT!!?? Goetic – who?”
Hoodoo does have intermediate and advanced levels, but in this blog, I would be ill-serving to myself and to my readers to delve too far into those levels… I have a lot of beginners here who are very unsure of themselves and using spellwork… So… I try to use things that won’t confuse the newbies TOO MUCH (but they still get confused,) and I try to post spells that won’t bore us old-hand’s at Hoodoo either. 😉
I have seen spells take forever to manifest or just fizzle… Like you said, it manifests and fades pretty fast, but for the most part I agree that Hoodoo tends to be a STRONG magic/k that works VERY VERY VERY well. >:)
But thanks for the compliment on the blog… I do appreciate it a lot. 🙂
