Hello Occulties,

So… I snuck a few peeks into my inbox lately, and lo and behold there is indeed lots of crazy behavior… Behavior which has happened as a result of PANIC. What on earth are you panicking for? Have I not told you that is a useless behavior, and that if I wasn’t breaking several federal laws in doing so, I’d perscribe you a XANAX so you’d STOP?! Unfortunately for you, and fortunately for the American Medical Association, I do not have a prescriber’s liscence, so I’m just going to give you one word here instead of a Xanax, and that word is: BREATHE.

Yes, breathe. I want you to take a big deep breath and RELAX. I do not care that you think your life is s— right now because its that very mindset that keeps you there. LET IT GO. Believe you me, your friend Cat is very capable of pitching a fit but when I’m done pitching said fit, you know what? I actually have gotten that mad energy offa me and I feel very much better. I do not get whacked out often, and when I am whacked out, I do make a conscious effort to CALM DOWN (well, after 45 minutes or so, hehe.)

Now that you are taking deep breaths and you are allowing your muscles to relax, try and calm your mind. This is not the end of the world, and were it the end of the world, getting your panties in a bunch ain’t going to make it any better then either. Here now, I will put a pic of an old carriage road up for you, and you stare at that and think to yourself “Ooo, New England in the summer, how lovely,” and then laugh at me because that really is about 10 miles from my house and it is that rural here. And no, smart-a$$ in the back of the rant room, that isn’t anyone’s driveway, its a class-six road.

Calm now? Are you? Alrightey.

So, here’s what I’ve come to say to you, and take the advice or leave it. Its meant to help, but if it doesn’t, then you need to see somebody for your anxiety issues.

We all get panicked and freaked out from time to time – we all even get really upset and sometimes do stupid things as a result. The best thing you can do for yourself when this sort of thing happens to you is NOT to bottle it up, but essentially to still your panic and doubt as much as possible and send that big ball of panicky badness – that monster jolt of energy, – into something helpful and useful for you.

Its normal to be at a loss for a bit when you get some bad news…but getting whiney and jumping all over the place is not how to solve that problem…acting crazy or unreasonable is not how to solve the problem. Instead, try to calm your mind. If you need to seperate yourself from the situation, then by all means, take a step back so you are comfortably away from what is upsetting you, and then allow yourself to calm down and think of your actions calmly. Do not adopt a defeatist attitude. Do not decide its the end of the world and lets run around with our arms in the air screaming and crying. Most of all, DO NOT PROJECT THE BLAME FOR YOUR ACTIONS ON TO ANOTHER. YOU are in control of YOU. No one else is in control of you (unless, perhaps they also read my blog, mwahahah,) just YOU in control of YOU.

Now that you are in a thinking state, you are not going to act crazy and do more to make the situation wild and horrid…are you? I hope not. Instead, use this moment of a still frame of mind as to consider how to project you acting as the best you, and you being the best you. Now you are ready to work on fixing this problem in your new best calm frame of mind.

Getting panicked and trying to use spellcraft at the same time is a bit like drinking and driving: A FEW people are good at it, but all of them are doing something they probably should not be doing for their safety and for the safety of others.

You need to have faith in yourself and faith in the Universe to accept your request for whatever you had requested. If you can have some faith and some calm perseverence, I’m sure you will be delighted to see your work pay off. Your faith in yourself will bring about the desired change.

Sorry about the lecture.

~Cat

Cat, this is amazing advice. I can see how that relates to me previously. Now I take responsibility for whatever happened and give the situation the care it needs without all the drama I used to go through before. I now look at the situation in a practical manner and in time decide whether it requires a “push” i.e Hoodoo. The anger and pain and sulking is so draining on yourself! Pain is compulsory but suffering should be optional 🙂
