I just wanted to let you know if Catherine Ann Manfredi (the woman who changed her name to “cat yronwode”) wants to antagonize me from afar because her arguments and claims against me let her know she’s too much of a psychopath to do anything but hide behind her zombies and yes-men and in her forum where she can artistically edit anyone’s post to suit her ego, then… I’m afraid I can’t care. I don’t even respect someone like that. If she even had the salt to confront me just once, directly, “ear to ear” or “eye to eye” (we’re on different sides of the country so face to face would be hard,) or even attempted to enlighten me PERSONALLY and privately that she had a problem before all this, I would gladly have settled it peacefully and no one would have had to make a complete ass out of themselves my pretending that I want to be them.
I mean, let’s look at this shall we:
For about 2-3 years (perhaps more,) she’s berated me and spoken ill of me behind my back. She should really ask who her friends are, because several people she thought were her friends have been better friends to me and repeated much of what she’s said, done, etc directly back to me. Never once has she said to me PERSONALLY all those years why she thinks I’m awful.
She then publishes a childish little diatribe on her “forum” about me that only the insane could believe.
When I confronted her (privately and on this blog) for publically posting false and defamatory comments about me, her sole reaction was to publish my full name – I guess in the hopes that the whole like five of you who didn’t know I use my first name as an inital and my middle as my familiar (in fact for me to call Ms Manfredi by Ann, which is her middle name, is as apt as her calling me Kristen) would somehow make her look like less of a psychopath who has a jealous and insane crush on me or something. I guess she forgot that in doing such things she has proven to her entire clientele that she feels its appropriate to give out your full names and contact details to the entire Lucky Mojo forums, and anyone else, as she sees fit, and also so that she could let you all know that if she dreams up some wild and crazy story about you, she’s going to try to publish that on the internet in the hopes someone as obviously lacking in sanity as she is might believe her fantasies about you.
I’ve also heard that she calls the garden shed in her back yard a church.
So, fuckit. This fight is so lame it makes a flaccid penis look like a ten-point stiffy. I’m enjoying all of the info and support you’ve all given me, and I do appreciate those of you who have sworn to boycott any products associated with her (I’m flattered and she will just out your full name worldwide to whoever she pleases and make up crazy fantasies about you, so…its probably your best idea,) but this fight is lame. I can’t even pretend to be mad about it now because its so ridiculous that I spent an hour laughing last night that some old chick out in Cali wants to believe I’d actually want to be her. I’m laughing that she has people around her who are also so emotionally unstable as to make up stories to make themselves feel important like she does. Its sort of cute, really. I mean, I went to high school and middle school, so thanks for the trip back in time because its been just like that here.
Unfortunately, her antics are not even funny enough to get her own catagory of psycho like Fluffy Dandilion of “Cat VS The Nut” fame. I still get told that Fruitbar and I’s fight is an internet classic.
And all I can say, haters are gonna hate. That’s what they do. I’m going to shrug and just presume some lady in California seriously needs to adjust her meds (or get on meds.)
Now, if you don’t mind, I’m gonna go apply my “limited” knowledge to helping people, because that’s what I do, and from what my inbox, my comments area, and my clients directly tell me, I do a fucking kickass amazing job at it. Hate to see what my full capacity is if this is me “limited.”

LOL crazy diamond!!!! lol I love IT!!! And yes let those haters HATE. Im so over lucky mojo. Its a wrap for me. The forum only was created to boost herself esteem and make her seem better than what she is. In any case, we should all light a candle to st. dymphna for her craziness.

I just want to mention that 2 workers did NOT renew their LM affiliation this year. One of them was Dara.

I deeply respect Dara, and would recommend her to you or anyone else in a heartbeat regardless of her affiliation (real or implied) with anyone! She’s an amazing rootworker!
That said…since this is a different “me” from the article below and one who hasn’t yet spoken on this topic…why mention that? I don’t feel other workers at AIRR (current or past,) are responsible for “cat yronwode” or her actions. I mean, I guess she (cat y) violated their code of ethics by posting a paranoid and defamatory rant about me (which at this writing is a breach of AIRR ethics code,) on the LMCC board, but until other members of the AIRR openly join in with her, I see no reason to demonize the members of AIRR. As I’ve said more than once, many of the members are people I’d give my personal recommendation to and who I know to be ethical workers.

I’m a bit late to the party, but I just had to comment on this. I’m sorry cat y has attacked you for no reason, but I’m really not surprised as she’s a rude Nazi (is there any other kind?) on that joke of a forum. The sole purpose for it is to sell more products to line her pocket and to try to get people to take those courses of hers. I find it rather hilarious that one has to “have a history” (ie spend a couple hundred bucks) buying Lucky Mojo products to even be considered worthy of taking her super secret courses. Yeah, sounds like she’s real eager to help those yearning to learn.
Believe me when I say that most of us who have been in the hoodoo community for a few minutes know that the shit she talks is just that – shit. She’s not even worth the blog posts you made addressing her. She just wants to be the only game in town and is pissed because people are getting wise to her egotistical crap and are finding other places to get their goods. I know I never miss a chance to tell someone to buy herbs off eBay instead of Lucky Mojo. Screw paying $3.00 for two pinches of something when you can get three big handfuls for the same price from a seller on eBay!
Hang in there, Cat and don’t even let that old bag bother you.

I have been telling folks to go to Mountain Rose Herbs for years with most of your herbal needs. The “small size” is four oz bags. That puts most ritual stores sizes to shame. 😀 I have not ever been a fan of getting LMCC’s herbs because I don’t recall her ever placing a weighed amount out for sale, it was a “package.” I have gotten some Queen Elizabeth whole roots from her, but past that, I don’t even know as I’ve bought other herbs from her.
I must say, re the rest of your post… I knew she didn’t like me, and I’ve known she’s unreasonable…but I think the shock of the event for me was that she would actually post such things. I expected more of her, even if she’s crazy. Once this all happened, I was surprised by how much her reputation had degraded over these years. She is an intelligent person, so it would be nice if she stopped her crazy attacks on people who have never meant her any harm to begin with, and put that energy into something useful…like writing another book or knitting a blanket or something. 😉

I have to admit I first discovered LuckyMojo and also joined the forum there. But I have to say I never felt very welcome there. My questions were never answered all I received was a link to their products and that I should get a reading – what I never did. Somehow I get a negative vibe from the mentioned root workers and second I doubt that they can give me more inside that I have. To sum up, people were and still are very rude on this forum. Especially, cat y always seemed rude, impatient, and full of herself.
When I finally found your block I was very happy. Your blog is full of positive energy and you seem warm and welcoming. Also you share real advise and spells for “free”. So don’t let her get to you and continue the good work. Oh by the way, if you had a spell to make your loved one move in with you would be great 🙂

To be fair, the information here is given totally for free. The quotes would imply that it is not accurate to call the information free, however I require no payment for you to read my blog and never have and never will.
I do actually pay to keep this blog up, though, so I guess its not free for me. 😉
That said, I’m very sorry to hear that you were treated that way. While its not unheard of for me to send someone to an article in my blog which answers their question (especially in cases where the question is frequently asked,) I can’t imagine telling someone no real answer other than to buy stuff…that is beyond rude. 😛

What I meant to say is that I really do enjoy your blog a lot and all your useful information. To be quite honest, I have learned much more about hoodoo from you and your blog than from cat y. (especially how to prepare candles. the picture of your dogs hair were great)
Well, sometimes I did not get an answer at all and was just ignored. So I am glad that I found your blog. Keep up the good work, you are doing a great job 🙂

Yeah, at the LMCC forum, most questions are answered with “That’s been asked; do a search,” or, if it’s a more general question, “This is a forum to discuss LMCC products, not hoodoo in general.” And they ALWAYS suggest a reading before doing any spellwork. Always.
Honestly, if that were my only source of hoodoo knowledge, I probably would have quit long ago out of sheer frustration.

I had to make a comment about the LM boards, since I use to be there. A lot of these problems are not because of cat, but her new assistant Lara Rivera. Cat y has changed a lot since Lara showed up. It’s like cat has turned into a different person. I cut ties with cat and Lucky Mojo do to this woman. Some people are just bad news.

I have never had a problem with Lara. Think she’s even my facebook friend. 😉 Lara has been around a long long time, though not, to my knowledge, as cat y’s assistant. Sorry to hear you had problems with her, though as I understand it from your writing, the problems people have with cat y predate any assistanceship Lara had with cat. Could be wrong there. Can’t say. If this is a new thing, cat y has been this way for a few years now.

I’m specifically speaking of the LM boards. The LM boards were created by Lara Rivera. I’ve known cat since the late ’90s and Lara was not around until about 2008. Lara wants to become a partner in Lucky Mojo. Lara wants to push the products and ONLY the products. I know because I was one of the original moderators of the boards, but left. I mention this because of the comments made about the board pushing products.

Basically, cat may say crazy things on the LM forums, but it is Lara who runs the forums and dictates how questions are answered. If you go WAY back to the beginning of the forums, you will see the change. Cat y has her problems, but the way the boards are policed is Lara.

I could be mistaken, but I remember seeing Lara around before 08…I want to say even in the HyattSpells forum before then. Either way, how sales are and wanting to make sales is understandable to me – I am not saying market everything all the time, but if you have a business then selling your product is in your best interest. 😉
What is less understandable is how a woman posts her own rules of ethics (suchas “Never speak ill about another practitioner,”) and repeatedly breaks them as cat has. Also, Lara never told me I want to be her because we both have an “a” in our name or something equally ridiculous, Lara never sent spies into my old email group, Lara never claimed a lot of the claims Cat made, and not all of them were posted or said in public, but many came right back to my eyes or ears. While I appreciate the insight and am not saying it’s necessarily without merit, I can’t back it up, so I wouldn’t join in on the derision. Perhaps it’s a case of one playing off the other, but my experiences with Lara have been pleasant and I personally have never had problems with her.
I have not had a pleasant interaction with cat for several years…and if Lara’s interest was money then that doesn’t explain why I would be mistreated when I used to send a great deal of business that way back in the day. I never claimed I made or sold the products, there was never any confusion on Ms yronwodes part about that back in the mid 2000’s as she had personally thanked me at one point for sending her thousands of dollars of business. If someone had been interested only in marketing products, certainly keeping me as a friend would have been a better idea than would making me an enemy. Several of my readers and clients have boycotted the store and it’s products due to the described events, and many people have come to me since and said they had similar experiences with cat and that they were relieved to know they were not alone. No one has ever said the same about Lara. And, to be fair, I can attatch some of the “craziness” cat displays to other reasons that are not Lara-based, so it would be unfair to single her out as a definite cause from my perspective.
While a lot of complaints have been aimed towards the growing commercialism of those involved in the LMCC engine, that would not be my personal complaint with Ms yronwode. I have several more that take quite a bit of precidence over it. I can respect others misgivings, having my own, but I don’t share all of the same ones you do.

All I can tell you are my experiences and I know of a few people who have had problems with Lara. She did not gain any fans when she came to Lucky Mojo in 2009 for the apprentice week. I have the written e-mails from Lara, so I know what Lara does. I was speaking of the comments of the forum boards.
As far as cat is concerned, she does have a history of making enemies. Anyone who has been in her yahoo group knows this. I no longer buy products from Lucky Mojo or associate with her either, because I don’t believe she is the only authority on hoodoo and conjure. She kept trying to push me into AIRR, which I did not want to join. I don’t think it is fair that you have to be a cat grad for membership. I had MANY teachers who are ethical and never heard of cat. This idea that ethics and cat grads going hand-in-hand is simply unfair AND untrue. I know of MANY who had problems with AIRR workers.
I also had a problem with her not understanding people have different paths and dreams for themselves that do not involve hoodoo. I think she doesn’t understand not everyone wants to do this type of work for a living. Sorry but a lot of professions frown on employees involved in anything that smells of occult tendencies. Cat y has the luxury of doing this, but not everyone does and that should be understood.
Yes, I understand your problems with cat y and you are not alone with them.

I am sorry to hear it as my personal experiences with Lara have been pleasant. I am not trying to nay say you as much as just saying I don’t know for myself so it’s not an issue I can speak with authority. I’ve had minimal contact with her, and it would be difficult for us to have had bad expeiences with each other.
As for Ms Yronwode, she has made her own enemies and what you’ve said about her is accurate. In re to being hoodooing for a living, it can cost friends and other jobs. Some people are disturbed by knowing a person is even interested in the occult, and I know this first hand.
I never took her class but I don’t think being a grad from it would make a person a talented or even necesarily a capable worker. Just because you watch a cooking show on TV a few times, doesn’t make you a good cook. Same idea. Spellcraft is like any skill – takes time and practice and study to really excell.
