Cat’s Rants: Confessions of an Occult Mastermind

Everything you ever wanted to know about Hoodoo, Rootwork, or the Occult! The internet’s longest running occult blog, established 2004

  • Dear Ones,

I'm compelled to write this because of course I go through the same thing almost every year around this time, but I'm not the only one. Instead of making it out like I'm the only person chasing someone down to pay an invoice if it's between Thanksgiving and Christmas (totally not true – I'm totally not alone here,) I'm going to alert those of you who may not have realized something… So, here goes:

Every year around the holidays, almost any independent contractor you know – or anyone who gets paid by commission, – will suffer from not getting paid. πŸ˜› This isn't because people are intentionally mean or selfish – in fact, it's the opposite as they often want to buy gifts for their family, and so they sacrifice their personal appointments or put off purchases for themselves. However, when you miss an appointment, put off a sale, or ask to pay a bill super late (like after Christmas,) you're putting a small business or an independent contractor or a person being paid by commission in a bad place. See, we have families and friends to get gifts for, too – and bills, and regular purchases we need to make for our homes and businesses. We DO plan for the season to be "thin" as far as sales. I actually make sure I have regular sales all through the month to help consumers pay less. I know others save a lot through October and early November and buy their gifts early. People stay open later. People pay bills a few months in advance. But…if you find yourself being paid 1/3 to 1/4 of your regular income for an entire month…that can kind of suck no matter how much you plan. πŸ˜›

Now, everyone's got families and friends and people that they want to celebrate with during the holiday season, and one thing I think we can all do to HELP people in small businesses, and who are independent contractors, and/or who get paid by commission, is to KEEP APPOINTMENTS, and PAY ON TIME when you do have an appointment or make a purchase. Sure, maybe you need to miss something this month, but let the business know well ahead of time, and that will give them the opportunity to sell that time to someone else, or to take steps so that whatever they couldn't sell to you, they can now sell to someone else.  JesusSanta

AND EVEN OUTSIDE OF THAT….this is a stressful season for many people. PLEASE try to be nice to each other. Try to remember everyone has their own problems, and if you're sad or angry, you taking that out on anyone because it's the holidays may mean you bringing someone in a similar emotional state to your own even farther down, just by you being mean, grumpy, or rude. The holidays are supposed to be about giving, and being kind to those around you. If you feel like a lump of crap, (and hey, I've had a few Crappy Christmases myself, heh,) try to fix that by either removing yourself from others until you can brighten up a bit and not share the crappy mood, OR at least don't take it out on everyone. πŸ˜‰ We're all in the same boat – it can be a stressful time.

I do try to run a lot of sales during this season because I understand how poor it can make everyone. I do try to keep everyone on an even keel if I can (not always easy when it's 2am or something and I just spent an hour with you and you asked to pay me 2-3 weeks later, haha,) and that doesn't mean I love the holidays, or that I love earning less, haha – it's because I don't want to be the person making someone else have a bad holidays (except maybe a few people, but they're jerks, and I don't work for them.)

I'm not saying this to be preachy. I'm saying this because sometimes I need to read something like this and remember to get the bah humbugs out of my system before I go outside (that shit's contagious!!) and make everyone else mad or angry, and I'm sure a few of you needed this reminder too.

Also, all I want for Christmas is Chris Hemsworth dressed like Thor…and a real live elephant. An African Elephant. One of those giant ones. So I can drive it around the city and have it poop on compact cars. I mean…if you wanted to buy me something special that is. πŸ˜‰

I'm thinking a love spell should come up next, so stay tuned. Thanks for reading! πŸ™‚

  • Hey Occutlies,

I'm glad to finally have this post up. I realize it's the season (the Holidays) for this, but when I was about to post this the other night, I had an inordinate amount of invoices out and I was like "Holy heck, all those poor people are going to think I am trying to cast this spell on them, and it is so not true!" So, rather than scare the hell out of a few people (many of who were in no way wronging me, they just were being a little slow to pay and there were no hard feelings or suspicions they were not going to pay,) I decided to wait for my "unpaid invoices" notice in my payment processor to go down by a few numbers before I posted this, as the (now deleted) post said. πŸ˜‰ To anyone with an unpaid invoice out with me at this writing, you're cool, I am NOT using this spell on you!

OK, I'm glad I got that out of the way. (Again, no, I'm not trying to come get you, haha, so no worries.)

So, first what you'll need is a target who owes you money – this money must be contractually (be this via written agreement, spoken agreement or written contract,) owed to you. If little Jimmy Jerkface stole your lunch money 20 years ago, this probably won't work, though you're free to try if that $4 is so dear to you. πŸ˜‰

This spell is best begun on a Saturday, during a waxing moon, and in the hour of Saturn.

Outside of that you will need:
An image of the target or a personal item belonging to the target
Four black candles of the same size
    A black-inked pen
    2 purple 7-day glass-encased candles**
    Powdered calamus root
    The pictured sigil of Saturn

    B70e979f05270b5ae6f6abf7b431e6af

    Setup:
The altar will be slightly complicated here, so bear with me. At each of the cardinal points, you'll place one of your black candles (North, East, South, West,) and then using powdered calamus root, draw a line from the North to the East, then the East to the South, then the South to the West, and the West to the North, making a square type shape, and as you draw each line say "(Name of target,) I bind you within this square, to be held here until you pay me the money you have promised and yet still owe."

Place the image or personal item in the center of this square.

Using your black pen inside the left triangle of the sigil pictured, write the name of your target, and inside the right triangle write "pay me" (or name of person you are working for) all that you owe me right now." Place this over the image of the target or the personal item. Place a purple seven day candle over this.

    The spell:

Light the black candles starting from the North, moving to the East, then to the South, then to the West. Say "(Full name of target) you are bound here, and here you remain until there is no debt between us." Now light the central purple candle, and hold your hands (well, avoid being burned – yes someone will ask, haha, – but avoid burning yourself, it's OK if your hands are outside the "square,") on either side of this candle, envisioning your target paying you all the money they owe you and try to keep this image in your mind's eye until you here a pop or a crackle from the candle. This is the sign to begin. Say "Spirits of Saturn, (Full name of target,) is bound by their word and by their promise to pay me (amount,) and I call upon you to bind them tightly to their contract, and give (Him/her) no rest, no sleep, no comfort until (he/she) pays me the amount that is past due! (Name of target,) the spirits of Saturn come to you, they call upon you, they pull upon your heart, upon your hand, upon your mind – I have conjured them to hold you to your contract. If you seek peace, pay me what you owe me now!"

Drop your hands and allow the candles to burn for a time – you will extinguish the outer candles, and you need to burn them for a total of 9 days. Probably allowing these to burn 20 or so minutes each day (allowing them to burn out on the last day,) will suffice. Each day for a total of 9 days, light the outer candles, and say the chant during the hour of Saturn.

The person should pay you very quickly (and may suffer some nightmares and discomfort until they do. πŸ˜‰

As always, use wisely. If someone owes you $10, probably best to let that go. πŸ™‚

    ~Cat

*As in my previous post, this is for money ACTUALLY OWED TO YOU. Money you gave freely with no promise of return, money you paid someone for a job (the agreed on amount), or money no one ever agreed to pay you are not monies you will collect with this spell. So, like I said,if you think yours truly is a big stupid dumbhead who owes you 10 million dollars for existing, you will not get that money from using a spell like this. I'm sure a few people will try, haha. But seriously, verbal and written agreements are binding and can work if you use this spell – if someone said they'd pay you back, go ahead and try, mwahahahaha.
**These burn approximately 5 days, and you will want this light to be burning for 9. When the first candle burns very low, take a long match, and a piece of stick incense, and light the second candle using the flame from the first, then smother (do not blow out) the flame of the first candle, replacing the second where the first one stood on the altar.

UPDATED – So, someone asked me a SUPER QUESTION. πŸ™‚ Basically the scenario was someone promising a refund for part of some work, though the contract given was that the person was not entitled to free work or a refund to the work (it was basically a construction/addition on a house dispute). The person asking the question had signed a contract prior to being promised the amount and had not received it according to them. In this case, the person who has promised something in return or a refund or free work would actually probably not be as affected by this spell as another would be. The reason here is that – at least from what I can tell historically, through my own trial and error (and that of friends) – the written contract actually is more binding. I tried this some years ago when I purchased something online without reading the fine print and then was charged $150 for something else a month later. πŸ˜› When I called the merchant (having clicked that I did read the terms and conditions, silly me,) they refused to refund the money, and cited that it was in the fine print that I'd be charged again. I didn't get the money back. πŸ˜› Admittedly they didn't promise to refund it (they were a shitty merchant,) but I have suggested this to others in the past privately and it seems written contracts often supercede verbal agreements when using this spell. πŸ˜› That said, you can still try… It's a nifty working, and does help get you paid back, but it does has it's limitations. Oh, and as I learned the hard way, always read the fine print when you sign a contract. πŸ˜‰

  • Hey occulties,

I'll be brief this morning. πŸ˜‰

Controlling spells are often confused as "somehow puppet another person as if they have no control over their own actions" spells, and this is not really how they work. Instead, we are generally trying to "force" or "compel" another person to take a particular action. Oftentimes the influence is limited, especially if the action is one which is not tied to an emotional response. This is fine – if you need someone to take a particular action ONCE, you don't need them to do your bidding for the rest of your or their lives. :)

The incoming spell I have, mostly because it's dear to many people's hearts over this time of the season, is to get someone to pay you back for monies owed. The caveat is that this person has to owe you the money. πŸ˜› So, if you decide that your old friend Cat owes you ten million dollars because I'm a big dumbhead and that's the only thing that will allow you to feel OK with me living in this world, the thing is…I don't owe you ten million dollars. πŸ˜› If your brother in law owes you $200 for that time he got a flat tire and totally didn't pay you back, then this should make your brother in law pay up. If you didn't like the job your next-door neighbor's kid did mowing your lawn but you paid that kid anyhow, that kid does not owe you money back. It won't work. However, if your office mate owes you $50 for those Christmas party supplies and she's totally going to pay you (next Tuesday for a hamburger today, right?) but she never does, this incoming spell will be great for you.

We're going to look at using Saturn as an assistant in binding someone to pay you back by holding them to an oral (and possibly even written) contract. Again this requires that the person OWES you the money. And my other caveat? If this person is literally homeless, jobless, or penniless, you may be waiting a long time for them to come through. If the problem is that they just don't want to pay you right now and they definitely have the money they owe you, then they should come through.

OK, I'll have the finishing touches on this spell for you shortly. Get ready to get paid back (in a good way, not like…paid back for that time you did that bad thing and no one knows about it but you are just so sure karma's going to bite you in the ass.)

  • Hey there occulties,

A prospective client sent me the following questions and I found it interesting enough to share, to which this person agreed (of course, I'm keeping them anonymous,) as I thought it was one of the more insightful consultations I've had. The prospective client is in italic type, I am in regular type. I've also discarded the personal questions about the person's problem for obvious reasons… it has just been a long time since someone asked me so many creative questions that I thought I'd share. πŸ˜‰

I saw you were offering a month of work for a discount. Can this be used to get multiple 7-day castings at different times?

At this writing (12/5/16) I am actually offering a deep discount on the month service, but if someone wanted to pay the month-fee at any time for five weeks of spellcasting spread out, I'd gladly work that deal out with them, yes. It would be a huge savings for people who like me to do lots of spells for them. For other people, one round is enough and the problem is taken care of, and then I don't hear from them for like 2 years until they need my services again, haha. πŸ˜‰ For them, five weeks of spellwork is probably not a super investment.

Is there a fee I can pay monthly to keep you on retainer? For example, if I paid for seven days up front and then didn't need the service now, could I just pay a maintenance amount?

There would be no maintenance required. I offer what I refer to as "pre-buys" which means a week worth of work at discounts all of the time. So long as the transaction was less than 5 years ago, the money is always good. I don't need you to pay a maintenance fee like a bank would. Just like you could buy a month of work and spread the work out over time (and not for a greater cost to yourself,) so can you pre-buy a week of work. While 7-day spellcastings are my basic package, I've even had people purchase this and have me do a few individual spells instead of the full 7-day package.

I realize nothing can be guaranteed and that some expectations would be difficult to fulfill, but if someone offered you a large amount, say $2000, would you be willing to take on a case you normally wouldn't?

Probably not. I mean, I like money as much as the next person, but if I feel I can't be successful, my best answer is "I can't help you." I don't do this to be mean, or even because I want more money – I do it because I don't feel I can be of help.

If you retire, what would you do if someone had money "on retainer?" For example with my 30-day hire question, what if you retired and 2 weeks of service were left?

I've thought of retiring from the for-hire business more than once. I've been doing it for over a decade, and it's a difficult and draining job. πŸ˜› That said, I would never reject my clients, students, or anyone with money on their account, even if I stopped taking new sales. I've made several good friends over the years at this job – clients – and I would never want to turn them away if they need my help. If someone had money invested in my services, I would provide these services, even if I'd entered into a new industry and was no longer offering services to the general public.

Are you going to raise your prices after your book comes out?

Probably not. I am hoping the book can actually allow me to cut back on the amount of active cases I take on, though. Right now, I work at least 12 hours a day every day.

Do you ever offer in-person services?

Rarely. The person would have to live nearby to me for me to do that. It's not that I don't want to help, but travelling long distances can be difficult.

What would you say your biggest weakness is?

I'm a horrible mailer. Horrible. I have one bill I don't pay online for this very reason, and I'm lucky since that's a payment I drop off. 😦 So, when I need to mail things out to people there is often a lot of issues with that. πŸ˜› This is why I rarely sell material items. I've had a few people ask me if the post office blew up or something, because I'd not mailed something out to them for a few weeks. πŸ˜›

If I wanted you to work for something until I got the desired end, could I pay you a weekly fee?

Yes, I've been willing to do that before. It is actually cheaper to purchase a 30 day hire than pay me on a weekly basis though. I actually work 35 days on a 30 day hire, doing five weeks of work.

    ****

Anyhow, I thought it was interesting. Most people want to know if I really really really believe I can get so and so back, or do spirits come out of my mirrors at night, or do I shoot fireballs out of my eyes. πŸ˜‰ This, I thought, was relevant. Anyhow, I will get back to typing up that controlling spell article, as I know many of you are getting excited for it. :)

    ~Cat

Added bonus… This prospective client literally asked "Can I pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today?" To those of you who think I have no sense of humor? I totally laughed. πŸ˜‰

  • Hey Occulties,

Here it is, another edition of Questions You've Asked Me.

Q: Is there a best time of day to cast love spells? Just any generic best time, no moon cycle, no planet hours or planet days, – just "best time of day."

A: Yes. The Venutian spirits (spirits of Venus) are most active between dawn to noon, and even moreso if the day is bright and clear (as opposed to overcast or raining.) Obviously, not everyone can work during these hours due to work obligations, overly intrusive family/housemates, or etc, but generically-speaking, this is the best time of day. Planet hours, sun cycles, moon cycles, planet days and all that other jazz you wish to not acknowledge are all helpful, though, so I wouldn't discredit them. πŸ˜‰

Q: I want to get suitable revenge on another person, but find myself concerned about causing this person physical harm. Is there anything I can do to ensure they are not maimed, killed, or made physically sick?

A: Certainly. I would be sure to NOT INCLUDE rust or iron in your spellcasting. Also, when saying your chant or your command, you should say that the consequences of the curse not cause physical harm or death to any person or animal. For example, if I want Fred to lose his job, I would say "Fred's employment crumbles and falls away and he finds himself bereft of income or employment, yet let no person or animal be harmed or killed by this curse." I understand that there is a negative (no/not/never) in that command, but it's OK to use a negative occasionally. πŸ˜‰

Keep in mind, the most effective curses are free of too many exceptions, and often do cause physical harm, as well as emotional, social, and fiduciary harm. While I would say it's less likely than you might suspect that you cause physical harm without the intention of causing said harm (but when having forgotten to add a "no physical harm" clause,) it still remains a possibility so long as you have not stated that no physical harm be caused. So, if I did not add a "no physical harm" clause to the spell above where I want "Fred" to lose his job, Fred could easily just have a blow up with the boss (a verbal argument,) lose his job, and that could be all that happens. However Fred might also develop a severe cocaine and hookers and drinking problem, thus causing him to be physically ill with sexual diseases, heart trouble, as well as being unemployable.

I've said before, when it comes to curses, even if you don't physically harm someone, there is nothing "nice" about it. It is NOT about one-upping someone or putting someone in their place because they were sort of bitchy to you one day. This should be on par with being willing to physically attack or socially attack someone without spells. You're only using the spellwork because there are so many legal and social ramifications to attacking someone in the mundane.

Q: I need money in the next hour. What spell should I use?

A: You should probably call your friends and/or family for a personal loan, because I do not trust any spell to work in an hour or less, no matter how fabulous it is. If I need money RIGHT THIS SECOND OR ELSE, that's what I do, and I've been spellcastin' longer than at least 1/3 of my readers have been alive. πŸ˜‰

That said, if you need money SOON (just within a day or so,) you might try praying to St Expedite.

Q: Help! I made a jerk love me! Now he/she won't go away!

A: I'm pretty sure this is a rite of passage for many of the spellcasters I know. πŸ˜‰ So, you didn't listen to my advisory that just because a jerk loves you, that doesn't make them not a jerk, and lo and behold, now some jerk is following you around all drooling with love and passions just for little old you. :/

NORMALLY, after a little rejection (polite rejection) in the mundane, this jerk will leave you be. They will not be drooling with love and passions for you forever and ever and ever. So, if you just wait them out for a week or so, every time telling them, you're sorry, you just don't think things will work out, they should go on their merry way (and stop asking you to please go out with them.)

BUT SOMETIMES you just so happened to find an obsessive jerk…and once that jerk feels love for you, they never wanna let you go. 😦 So, you've tried politely rejecting their advances, but they still stalk you, and won't stop stalking you…what can you do?

Try ritually burning the name paper/s (if the spell contained the use of namepapers): Find your namepaper, and burn it saying "I release you (full name of target) from any and all effects of this spell, and burn away all this energy that this spell no longer effect anyone involved."

If that doesn't work, you may have to try a break up spell or hot footing, – or even try getting your target interested in someone else using magic. And learn your lesson – just because a jerk loves you, it doesn't make them not a jerk! πŸ˜‰

Q: Do you curse last-minute cancellations and people who "promise to pay at some ridiculous later date"?

A: No, they've already wasted my time (when time is money,) so I wouldn't bother wasting money on spell supplies to deal with someone who is obviously their own worst enemy, seeing as they are irresponsible and dishonest. I'm actually rather generous with people when they are upfront about their financial circumstances or when they have unforeseen difficulties in making an appointment, so please don't think I'm lumping everyone in with the time wasting asshats. Time-wasting asshats are people who want free consultations, don't read all of the available information on the website, drop off the face of the planet and do not communicate when it comes time for their appointment/payment….it's a certain breed of person, and one that I'm sure is going to fail at life if this is how they conduct themselves.

There are good people, people who I respect greatly, who occasionally run into financial circumstances or life circumstances that might cause them to be incapable of paying their bills or making their appointment. They conduct themselves in a far different manner than someone who is just wasting my time.

And I wouldn't curse either group. It's not cheap to curse people and I'm not that petty.

Q: I was told to fold a name-paper three times and you only fold it twice to quarter it. Who's right?

A: I remember a year or so ago, another occultist whose main traditions ARE NOT Hoodoo said as much to me, and the amusing part of that was that him correcting me was a contumelious attempt at pretending to be my superior. Were it anyone else voicing this, I'd concede that there is "more than one way to skin a cat" (an idiom meaning there are many ways to do something right,) but instead he proceeded to pompously be the authority in Hoodoo to someone who has studied it and practiced it for most of her life while insisting I'm absolutely wrong (because a guy who took a correspondence course once totally knows more about Hoodoo than someone who's been practicing it for over 25 years, right? Er….) πŸ˜›

    The reality is that….

Either method works. In fact, I've taught Hoodoo for years and found the "quartering method" to be very widespread among hoodooists far older than myself (who learned Hoodoo from childhood, and have practiced longer than I've been alive,) and that it works quite well to use the quartering method. If you prefer to fold your name paper three times, though, I don't see any problem with it…that is, until you become smug, and your life-study has NOT been hoodoo and you tell me that I'm wrong to use my method and not the one you were taught a handful of years ago when you dabbled in Hoodoo that one time. Then I'll tell ya to go to hell. πŸ˜‰

Q: I saw that Mike Cecchetelli recently posted that you guys have a book coming out….wow! Yay! When! WHEN!? WHEN, GODDAMN IT!?

A: Hahaha, well, our book was to come out after Winds of Wisdom, so I have to assume (having some knowledge but not tons) that it will be out in the next few weeks from this writing. Small publishing houses often run into snags here or there, which can delay publication dates (because smaller publishing houses don't have tons of money to rush things through,) and I realize it's been awhile where I've been telling you that this is coming out. Mike C and myself are not messing with you. We totally wrote a book together. For reals. And this book is dedicated to love and seduction magics. Mike C has been plugging this book super hard in the last month or so because it's actually just about here. I promise to post a link, to have a blog contest giveaway, and to make sure everyone gets an opportunity to purchase it. I realize it's been like…a year of me saying this, but, like I said, this wasn't done in any way to tease anyone. We expected it to be out a bit sooner than it will be, but then me and Mike C are impatient people, and would gladly have rushed this through if we could have. ;)

Q: My break-up spell is not manifesting! I've smacked this couple at least three times with this stuff! What's going on here!? HELP!!!

A: First off, it could very well be lust for results holding back the outcome. If you're checking through friends and through social media, cut that out. πŸ˜‰ Try to LET GO of the situation. We've been over it in here before myriad of times, but lust for results is the most common source of spell failure. Also, sometimes you create a situation where when you DO let go of the situation, and do stop lusting for results, everything hits at once. So…you might have an epic break up between those two happening when those three spells hit them all at once. :)

Secondly, and I realize this may not be true outside of this season (please see date in the title,) the holidays can both help and harm you with this kind of working. Some people will get aggravated by the holidays which will help break apart the formerly-happy couple, while others don't want to break up a relationship around the holidays. :P

Third, remember not everything happens overnight! I am sure I have more than one audience member giving a disgusted sigh (not least of all because I've said this many times before,) but I had an ex that would take 60 days on the nose to react to anything I did. I could set a watch by him. I can't imagine what sort of assholic-ness I'd have reduced myself to (I actually wouldn't, since I had been spellcasting for over 10 years by that point,) if I had someone to complain to frequently because it wasn't happening fast enough. πŸ˜› I've had a few clients come back after getting on my case frequently to tell me something did happen….just that it took time…just like I said…oh, and that they are sorry for constantly getting on my case since it worked out. πŸ˜‰ So, maybe this is your problem – you're impatient (see lust for results,) for the end results, and it very well is ABOUT TO HAPPEN.

But, if you're pretty sure you've kept all of the above in mind, ask yourself the following: 1.) are there economic reasons for the couple to stay together? It might be harder to separate lives and houses even if the romance between the couple has failed, and therefore the actual relationship might be over, while both parties are remaining together for reasons having more to do with economics (and sometimes children.) In this case, using work to make one party move away can be helpful, making the less desirable party become crazy (yep, there are spells to make people crazy,) might also do what you want.

2.) Does the couple thrive on adversity/fighting? Sometimes this is the case…the more people feud, the more attracted to each other they can become. Do work to draw out sexual excitement, to sour their feelings for each other, and to cool off their emotions towards each other.

3.) Are they together because they are both overly concerned with what others think? Do work to make one (or both) of the couple's friend's turn against their partner.

If these three suggestions don't help, perhaps breaking these two up is something you need to wait for…I know you don't want to hear this, of course, so you could also just keep cursing the party that you detest. πŸ˜‰

  • Ah the holidays. I get a crappy birthday, a crappy Christmas, and all throughout it I get "I can pay you (some future time completely in opposition to the contract I signed when applying where the client agrees to where they say they are ready to pay now.)" This is always said after I've spent up to an hour with the person in consultation.

And the worst part? My payment processor gives you an option where you can delay you paying through them, while I get the full amount. :/

So, despite not wanting to do a sale for awhile, I said to myself "Cat, this sort of bullshit must be because of the holidays." Then I realized I can even make it sort of evil, and make it not a sale, hahaha, at least not for the people who will gladly pay me in some future time for something today! gag

So here goes – if you are ready to pay at the time your consult ends (or within an hour of said time,) I will take 10% of the price off of any service purchased. All that is required of you is to pay your bill in a timely manner (like the bill says – due upon receipt.) Now, if you're going to wait any longer than an hour? No penalty is assessed. None. You just pay full price, as in the price listed on the invoice. That doesn't help you or harm you. So long as you do not have a mis-used consultation fee, you're never penalized. Obviously as stated on my site, a misused consultation fee is applied for anyone paying over a certain amount of days past the end of the consultation.

Therefore, if you want TEN PERCENT OFF OF THE TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE OF ANY SINGLE DANG SERVICE, from NOW until 1/1/17, all you need to do is pay me within an hour of the end of your consultation (and I'll send the invoice immediately.) I'm merely rewarding the responsible. πŸ™‚

OK, off to finish a few writing projects. πŸ™‚ Hope this helps some of you financially, and to those it won't? I mean, I know, you'll gladly pay me Tuesday for a hamburger today. πŸ˜‰

  • Hey there occulties,

As many of you know, tomorrow (Nov 29) is my birthday. It's not a big birthday (meaning there is no 0 a the end of my age-to-be,) but it's a birthday, so I'll be taking a holiday. πŸ˜‰

This year has had a lot of big changes for me. I survived a fire, I moved to another state, I doubled the cost of my living in so doing (that part is less than awesome, especially when I pretty much have to arm wrestle people to pay their bills at the end of every month, though at least now I'm like the arm-wrestling champion among occultists,) and managed to get robbed three times. So, I mean the first part was good. πŸ˜‰

I also am told  my book will be out by the end of the year, but no promises there as I've heard this for most of this year, heh. I know it was after another project going through and that book IS out. πŸ™‚ So, when it's published, I will definitely have a contest to win a free copy. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ So…if you ever wanted to learn love spells, you'll love that book.

Things that stayed the same this year were that people still need to learn to stop having lust for results (it slows and can kill manifestation!), that "Future money" is not real money (in other words, tell me you'll pay me next month, and I'm never going to see you again, you're not buying anything, you just wanted a free consultation for a few hours,) that there are some awesome blog-readers out there learning tons and tons and expanding their own abilities, and that there are dabblers who just want one thing and people using review sites who probably won't expand their abilities.

Things I learned this year were that gay guys can out party me (ever since I moved in next door to the gay bar, as a heterosexual I would just like to say, wow, everyone should totally hang out at the gay bar because those guys can throw down old school!) that sometimes your oldest friends are not the people you should think are your most trusted and loyal (looking at you, people who live in this city and haven't even stopped by my new place – nice knowing ya for 20 years!!) that there are actually people who will expect to be refunded for free services (yeah, that happened,) and also…that even myself and one of the best minds in the occult can be boggled by a particular situation (even when we thought we could figure out everything, *sigh*).

So…it's been a year. I'll be out of the office tomorrow, so if you need me tonight, best let me know. πŸ˜‰ I'll be here doing replies, invoicing, writing, some spellcasting, a little more writing, and at least a few more invoices. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for being here and reading, it means more to me than you can know. πŸ™‚

    ~Cat

PS- since some of you are bargain hunters, telling me happy birthday might get me to forgive that misused consultation fee or give you a discount, hint-hint. πŸ˜‰

  • Hey there Occulties,

While not exactly a magical topic, today's offering comes from the epidemic of social media stalking that is beplaguing my business. So many people are filthy sick with this addiction to stalking their beloved through Instragram, Facebook and other related social media sites, that today I'm going to discuss why this harmful to your mission to get your beloved (or get them back,) why it's harmful to your spellwork, and why it is just a bad idea. So if you're lurking on social media, trying to see what's happening in the life if the person you love most, here's the reasosn to stop "facestalking" your target.

*You invent storylines that are probably not even true. Many years ago, back in the days of MySpace, a client of mine had the following experience – she'd seen a picture of her target on his MySpace where, while at a wedding, he was hugging a lovely young lady both wore wide grins, and she'd written something like "This is an awesome picture of us! I love you!" Well, my client had a meltdown, and when she finally couldn't take it anymore, in her rage, she demanded he tell her who "that slut" was. He did. It was his cousin, and he wasn't the kind of guy who dated his cousin. πŸ˜› Of course, now she'd been really rude about his family, she'd had a complete hissy fit, and she'd totally upset the person she was trying to endear to her with her behavior. And yeah, after the target told her, a few others did confirm…that really was his cousin. πŸ˜›

If you think this is the only story that I know of it's type, you'd be mistaken. I purposefully chose a platform no one really uses anymore in an effort to avoid upsetting several people because at least ten of my active cases, at any given time are social media stalking their intended, and often with bad consequences.

While there are certainly drama queens and drama kings and attention whores out there, MOST people do not put the most intimate of details online on social media. If someone has a fight with their girlfriend or boyfriend, often it does not play out on social media. Most people project an image far more happy and perfect than how their life is actually going. You are left with partial information where you must invent the storyline behind this comment or that image. You won't know the relationship between your target and x person and may easily assume he or she is a rival.

*Social media stalking is a form of "thinking the spell to death," – it nurtures obsession and shows a lack of faith in your own work. As above where I said you are apt to invent storylines that do not follow the truth as it is, part of inventing said storylines is your inability to let the situation go. You're obsessing. As I've been over before, that is not helpful to spellwork…

…and the fact is, you're nurturing this obsession because you lack faith and need confirmation. You send the message out to the universe that you do not believe the spell WILL work. Through the law of attraction you also push away the desired result, rather than drawing it towards you.

*If your target understands the algorithms of the social media site you're both on, he or she could easily realize you're creeping on their page a lot (and that's creepy!) Thanks to my clients, I do understand these algorithms (thanks obsessive clients! You actually have taught me something haha,) and when I recently caught my ex Facestalking me, I was….well, a bit creeped out. What did he have to say to me? Why was he creeping my page when in all the years I'd known him, even when we dated, he never did that.

I wouldn't be the first person who caught someone in the act, and instead of it being endearing it is, as I said, kind of creepy. Why are you staring at my funny pictures? Who are you to look upon my status updates…but not like them? ;)

So, it's off putting to the target if they discover you, and that's not going to HELP a love spell.

I know this little "public service announcement" won't stop many of you from your addiction to facestalking, but as I always say, desperation is the world's worst cologne, and this behavior reeks of desperation. Please consider taking a vacation from social media. You might be surprised at how quickly your target returns when you're not obsessing over whether that comment was meant humorously, or if this picture was maybe a slam against you. ;)

  • Hey Occulties,

Just a quick charm for you today. πŸ™‚ This is best created on a Wednesday during a waxing moon. It is used to COMPEL someone to speak to you on a subject they have been closed mouthed about, but be prepared – what they have to say might not be what you wanted to hear. 😦 So, if you want someone to speak up about something you need to know about, try this out. However, if it is "What is the PIN number to your debit card," or "where are you hiding the money" you might not get that info out of them – though you might still try. ;)

    You will need:
A hair from the target's head
A piece of used napkin or a smoked cigarette butt from the target
Tobacco (chewing tobacco, cigarette tobacco, pipe tobacco, cigar tobacco are all fine)
    Poppy seeds
A small magnet that will fit into the jar
    A scrap of paper
    A pen with black ink
    Commanding or Controlling oil
    A toothpick
    A small jar or container
A piece of black string or thread

Blend about equal parts tobacco and poppy seed into your jar to approximately fill it (don't make it too tight to fit anything else inside,) and then add a few drops of controlling oil to "wet" the ingredients (use enough that everything within the container is moistened with the oil.

Write, using your pen, the name of your target on one side of the scrap of paper, with the command on the other side. The command will vary, according to need, but you might write "Speak about your feelings regarding (herein what you need to know) to me" or "Tell me if you love me"* or similar for a command, trying to keep verbs in the present tense and avoiding negatives (no, not, never.) Now holding your piece of napkin/piece of cigarette butt and hair of the target's head, gently wrap these items around the magnet using your scrap of paper, and wrapping TOWARDS YOU. Place this into your container, pushing it down with the toothpick (just dispose of the toothpick in the trash post-ritual when it's served this purpose which is to push down the magnet/namepaper/personal items) so it is covered by the tobacco, poppyseed, and oil blend, and cap the container tightly.

Hold the container in your right hand (or the hand that you write with,) and see your target in your mind's eye, speaking to you. Don't try to hear the words, but actually more try to see them as if they were discussing something with you, but "muted." Try to send this energy into the bottle along with orange energy, until it feels full. If you don't feel like you can send energy, hold the jar in your hand and just try to mentally see the target speaking. When you have done this, take a length of black string, and tie it to the jar, then tie a loop on one end. Swing this on your index finger of your writing hand in a CLOCKWISE motion while you say "Round and round the bottle goes, (name of target) tells me all s/he knows," a total of nine times while concentrating on your target and seeing them, in your mind's eye, as speaking (again as if there is a mute button and you just SEE them speaking.) You can repeat this as often as needed within reason. I would not have that bottle going around and around on your finger non-stop until someone speaks up, but similarly, you might want to work it a few times a day until the person speaks up about what you wanted them to speak about.

    Enjoy! πŸ™‚
