  • Welcome to the Contest Edition of QUESTIONS YOU’VE ASKED ME. The first question is that of this year’s winner, followed by a few choice questions I received for enteries into the contest. πŸ™‚ Without further ado:

Q: You often talk about “Thinking something to death,” and yet books like The Secret, and Creative Thinking, suggest that continuous positive thought on a subject will manifest our desires. Is there any relation to these ideas or are they simply opposing views?

A: Books such as The Secret, and other books trying to teach the Law of Attraction do often overstate the effacicy of said law in my humble opinion, but they are not exactly “wrong.” The thing is, the proper method to manifestation is always to have a mental picture of HAVING the desired outcome already, not HOW you get said desired outcome. This is pretty much exactly what I tell you to do. Don’t worry about why or how something is going to happen – just know it will. Faith is a key element in any spellworking. If the petitioner feels doubtful, this effects the outcome.

While I feel books like the Secret do contain some helpful ideas, I have a few problems with said book (much to the annoyance of many,) in that it wildly overstates how useful manifestation can be, in my most humble opinion. Use of creative manifestation is something where its hard to control any situation outside the self. Furthermore, its no effing secret whatsoever. IMG_0342
The idea has been around and been advertised for years, and every decade or so, someone else “re-reveals,” the “secret,” and tells you that its some sort of incredible epiphany and a secret the world lost. That’s whats commonly known as bullsh*t. The Secret is no secret.

Also, I’ll just say it… I hate the book the Secret, and having read it, think its one of the worst titles ever written on the Law of Attraction which is saying quite a bit (since several bad books are devoted to the law of attraction.) πŸ˜‰

Q: What is the difference between a “charm” and a “spell?”

A: Usually, when someone is referring to a “charm,” they are referring to a physical object which has been saturated with magical energies which may or may not be recharged with the petitioner/spellcaster regularly “working” the charm and may be hidden or carried; as opposed to a spell, which is performed at then then energies released to perform a certain action or illicit a result.

Examples of charms are jar spells like honey jars, or mojo bags, or even dollies. Examples of spells are as simple as a candleburning spell where you burn one dressed candle, to grandiose set ups where you call a spirit into a circle.

Q: In your experience, does working for others (as opposed to working for just for yourself,) help or hone your skill as a spellcaster?

A: I’m assuming this is implicative of whether or not its helpful to one to work professionally as a spellcaster rather than normally doing one’s own work and occaisionally offering assistance to friends and loved ones.

The best answer I have is that while I feel I was at one time more adept in certain spell-related areas in my life when working just for myself (I’ll get into that in a sec,) I have had the opportunity to work on many different types of cases and therefore problems which I’d never experienced in my own life (and some I likely will not experience,) so it expanded my experience in other ways.

I guess it could say it has honed my experience in certain areas like I would never have any reason to use love spellcraft on a woman (I’m not gay or bi,) on my own, but this is almost the same as spellcasting on a man, so that wasn’t a really enlightening experience. πŸ˜‰ Its honed my ability to use communication spells (I hate the phone and don’t like being bothered at home so I wouldn’t use this type of spell very often…normally I’m waiting for someone to shut up, lol.) I’ve learned a lot about court spells, and gotten better at cursing. So… in the sense that it gives me a chance to perfect my abilities in a certain class of spells or even allows me the ability to learn and expand on my knowledge in other types of spells…sure, that’s been educational and enlightening.

I’ve had the opportunity to see how different types of spell-targets respond to every different spell I know, and I’ve really honed my knowledge on the personalities of roots and herbs, having had a greater opportunity to use roots I personally would have had little use for because I personally have no need for that type of spell its used in.

I’ve also learned how to have more patience with others…which, though that’s not a spell related thing, is definitely an important thing to have in life and dealing with people in general.

The downside is that I don’t have much time for myself in any myriad of ways. I work, on average, at least 12 hours a day and up to 16 hours a day. This gives me little opportunity tp even have enough of a life to have a need for many spells when it comes to myself. I am forced to invest all my time to things like if this or that high-maintance client needs reassurance and encouragement (apparently part of my job is having me be your very own cheerleader, or so some people believe) then I need to sacrifice whatever free time I have left-over to encourage and reassure that person and whatever time I have to spellcast for myself (or sometimes even the time I have for a shower on one day,) is going to be taken up just to deal with this person. Since I’m obviously more intimately acquainted with my own problems than with those of a client (albeit several people give me far too much information, so its not always the case,) I obviously would learn the most by testing out spells on myself and on situations to do with myself. Since my work compromises that time, I find I need to only cast NECCISSARY spells for myself and those are spells I’m very accustomed to and adept at like a business bringing spell or protecton spells. Its not really a learning situation if I have to stick with what I know… I can’t test new spells on clients, either, unless I ask them if they want to be a guinea pig…which a lot of times they say no. I mean, new spells are sort of like a radical new medication – those interested are those who have had the traditional and well-used spells already fail them. πŸ˜‰ So…my learning is compromised by not being able to explore and create new spells as much as I’d have liked, even as it is being increased by getting to use spells I’d not have been likely to have used or would have used much less. I can’t escape that some people have expectations of me that are above and beyond the description of my job, though I do have a notice on my site that I am not your therapist (lol.) πŸ˜‰ I also miss having enough time to have a social life, but at 30 as I am, I suppose its time I had less of one as is. πŸ˜‰

I also think the downside of working for others is that its a giant fire hazard (candles everywheres, sheesh!)

If anyone wanted my recommendation, it would be to stick with just doing your own work and learning. Practicing for others requires the patience of Job, among other things.

Q: What, in your personal opinion, is the most successful method of causing a reconciliation with spellwork?

A: It would really depend on the case, of course. πŸ˜‰ However, the most basic break-ups and their most successful “cures” (in my personal experience,) are as follows:

The spell-target is cheating: Though my advice is that this person is apt to just fall back into cheating on you since most cheats are cheaters forever, and to tell them to go eff themselves, the heart wants what it wants and you’ll want them back – at least for awhiles anyhow. πŸ˜‰ You need to get and keep this person’s attention, right? So in this case you want to use a return-to-me spell (a reconicilation spell which uses a method to cause the person not just to feel forgiveness, but also compells their return into your life,) a love-drawing spell (to make them more enamored of you,) and a love-binding (to keep them focused only on you.) Added but not needed could be a love-attraction spell to make them more desirous of you physically.

The petitioner is too clingy, pushy, or “too much too fast,” etc: Uh-oh, someone told you to back the eff off and you kept pushing, eh? The first thing is for the petitioner to back off the target immediately and cease contact. Normally in this case, the petitioner is semi-stalking the target, so its imperative that stops. Next, I’d use an Intranquil Spirit spell, a reconcilation spell, and a love-drawing. The Intranquil Spirit (or spirits if you choose to call another of this type,) IMG_0364
will keep the target tied up in knots until they make up with the petitioner, the reconiliation element will foster forgiveness towards the petitioner, and the love drawing will be apt to give the situation a second chance as the target finds themselves feeling more amorous towards the petitioner. Also, no one should be being TOO NICE or TOO EXCITED to see the target back, or else the target will be apt to feel smothered again and bolt.

“We just can’t make it work, so its over.” Ah nuts, you two keep fighting and can’t stop, I see. Probably a communication problem…you love so and so, you want so and so, but then so and so opens his or her mouth, you disagree…and boom, there you are disagreeing and arguing, only to discover you are saying the same things just in different ways. :X So what you need is a reconcilation spell, a communication spell, and a roadopener spell to be put on your communication difficulties. This will work if you haven’t already started throwing crap at each other during one of your many fights, or if you never chased so and so down the street with an axe. πŸ˜‰

The petitioner gave an ultimatim: Did you say “Do this or we’re over,” and that blew up in your face? It usually does. Ultimatims are not for relationships. Well, so your target said “Eff you, I’m gonna do what I wanna do,” and bolted. Now what do you do? I assume you’ve tried apologizing and saying whatev. Now you want to do strong reconcilation, a return to me with a coercive element to it, and a love-drawing. If your intended is doing something so adverse you actually gave an ultimatim over it, I am going to assume that’s still going on since you are single right now? I’d also be working on removing whatever situation created the original ultimatim. If it was “spend more time with me,” the love work might do the trick, but if it was “Stop hanging out with your drunk-ass buddy Mike,” then I would be working to destroy that friendship between your target and the drunken buddy.

That’s just a few examples – hope it helps.

OK, that’s enough for me for now, kids – part II shortly.

  • I love Paul Newman. I gauged hotness by how close men came to resembling Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke for years.

He was a great man, and a great actor. I loved all of his movies, loved the man, I love his damn Newman’s Own line…

Much love to you Mr Newman, and may the next world love you as much as this one has and always will.

  • In a pathetic attempt to win a war of minds and intelligence, a young man of about 21 has called me over the hill…no, he’d never seen me. I was talking to an active student at my college. I’m not even near 40 and I’m not wrinkly – not a wrinkle on me…well, I have a few on my hand in the palm area but those have been here since I can remember…you know the days my memory is clear at 30. πŸ˜‰ So, er, just so you know, 30 is the new 40? NO, 30 is the new 70, didn’t you know? We all need to be in assisted living once out of our 20’s? ROTFLMAO – that made my effing day! Hahahahaha, I love being called old when I’m not even near old. πŸ˜‰

Special thanks to that kid for making it certain I can say things like “You kids get off of my grass! You whippersnappers! When I was your age, I had too many friends to hang with, too many parties to go to, and was too amicable to be trampling someone’s grass!” Aw, f***, wait, I still have too many friends and too much of a life to do that. Dang, I’m an active senior! Wait…if my mom is 31 years older than me (and she is,) what does that make her at 61?

As long as I can be the crazy old lady sitting in a rocker on my porch with a gun, I’m actually okay with it. πŸ˜‰

This has totally made my day! I love being an active senior! πŸ˜‰

  • Hey Occulties,

I have been working on that freaking color article for eleven days and its boring my eyes right out of my pretty but enormous head (for reals, I looked like Charlie Brown or one of the Peanuts characters when I was little…as in EXACTLY LIKE,) so, I have decided to take a break from it and write you a new and fun article.

Today, I wanted to share some insight on what I’ve been watching unfold around me, and despite some posting on this about a month ago or less, allow me to preach on my soapbox again about something my readers read my preaching on all too often.

Listen… Spellcraft isn’t something entirely predictable insofar as which route the spell takes to manifest, and I can’t predict HOW something is going to manifest. If you want your ex back it manifests with your ex coming back. If you want a job, it manifests with you getting a job. How? Why? What? is happening from casting that spell (point a,) to that desired manifestation (point b,) is not a recommended thing to do because its a form of thinking it to death. Let it go, and do not try to pick at the how or why it will manifest. Trying to do that is BAD. YES, after years of this, I do actually have a good idea how something manifests about 75% of the time, but I don’t try to guess how each spell will manifest, because as we’ve gone over before in this post and a ridiculous number of times on this blog, this is a form of thinking it to death. It does NOT matter how the spell gets from point a (casting the spell,) to point b (the desired manifestation,) so long as it gets there, and predictably, spells usually take the path of least resistance to work. πŸ™‚

What is the path of least resistance? More or less, this is the chain of events which are the most likely to occur naturally. For example, it is far more likely you will run into your ex or have them call you if you did a recon spell, as opposed to you finding them parachuting through your window at 3am with their mouth filled with roses and a diamond ring.Hardymums (2) Or…the path of least resistance with another recon example is WHY does your ex come back? These energies give them feelings where they are feeling remorseful for how they behaved and missing you rather than say…they get hit in the head with a blunt object and amnesia has made them forget they broke it off with you.

BUT WHY DOES IT MATTER WHY SOMETHING HAPPENS AS LONG AS IT DOES? If you spellcast for something you should want it A LOT, so you should be willing to have most any event occur for you to get what you want.

I have watched the experienced and the neophyte allow themselves to start to obsess with “is the spell working, and is this part of the spell,” obsessions, as well as the “how and why will my spell work?” mind sets. No, its not good for the spell, but its human nature to do this. No, its not me making excuses for slow spellwork – I’ve thought my own shniz to death and was a big-girl about it, put my big-girl panties on and admitted it was my own doing, and took responsibility for myself thinking my spell to death. YOU need to keep your mind of off the spell. I can offer 35 different methods how, and still you will google my blog, poo-poo all my methods and tell me you “just can’t” (a serious cop out, by the way,) keep your mind off of the spell and “just can’t” get over your need to know how it will manifest. Well, if you want to know how it will manifest, wait for it to manifest, and then you will know how it does. πŸ˜‰

I go into this here: http://originalninjacat.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/01/questions_youve.html on the first question,
And here:http://originalninjacat.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/07/cats_tips_for_b.html particularly the number 5 “tip.”
AND in those posts, I think I express myself better on that point than I have in this article.

Listen, kiddos, your friend Cat could not have explained this topic more repeatedly…but I have posted about it again, and hopefully will not have to post on it for MONTHS now that I have. πŸ˜‰

“Indeed, the bans themselves are symptoms of a far more grievous threat; a cancer that has been spreading for decades and has now metastasized throughout the body politic, spreading even to the tiniest organs of local government. This cancer is the only real hazard involved – the cancer of unlimited government power.”

  • Hey all,

While I normally do two posts regarding idiocy when its this grandiose, I feel a bit bad here, but whatev.

    Toni (Starlyn1) and friends,

First of all, COPYRIGHT IS ENFORCABLE ON THE INTERNET. It is. If you have questions, “Toni,” you may speak to my lawyer, and if you would steal my ADVICE word for word and SIGN YOUR NAME TO IT, this tells me that a large part and parcel of your site is a collection of the work of others – not your own. If you are so “spiritual,” you would know this sort of behavior would bring you a lot of “bad karma.” You took my intellectual property, and now that you have been called on it, the best defense would be to simply admit it – not pretend the wronged party is the person to attack.

You have not even bothered to contact me directly, instead posting to a group. I offered you speak to me privately, and you scurried away from that fast enough…but I am told you have a shop, so I would be happy to call you. Since public speeches are your preferred method, I will speak to you in your language.

If any of you would follow the type of person that defends this sort of behavior, you would deserve what you get. You are following someone who’s work is not even theirs, who’s thoughts are not theirs, and who defends illegal theft and misrepresentation by saying it was for the greater good. My site is here, a link to it would suffice, quotes around what was being said, and signed “Cat.” Not signed “Toni” but with my signature. I have been copied quite a bit…as of yet this is the first instance of someone stealing my word for word advice. I’m tempted to take legal action if not only to teach that copyright law is very easily enforced, especially on a dated blog, that I can’t “mess with” the dates, nor can I retroactively publish something to look like mine…and the arrival of your site on the scene is very much traceable as well.

Even more amusing is that several practitioners have told me they liked my website disclaimer on my business site (not the one on this site,) asked to copy it and replace the certain names (ie my site name with theirs,) and I was totally okay with this word for word copy. Seriously. Why? They asked my permission to use my work, and further, the piece didn’t contain well-known catch phrases of mine from 3 years ago as did the plagurized item we spoke on yesterday.

As for am I “spiritual”? First off, that is effing rediculous. Considering none of you have met me personally or even bothered to come and speak to me one on one through emails or in any private setting, you are in no place to judge. But I will answer you here since you all seem only comfortable with me answering you in a public forum:

I am spiritual…but I’m not flakey, and I do not hide behind such claims in an effort to make others look worse. I find it troubling that someone outed as theif of intellectual property who signed her name to my work actually makes this accusation, and has people who are okay with that, but I guess that’s because I’m normal. I do not believe that being spiritual makes a need for me to be someone you can kick and steal from. I have always stood up for myself. I have a strong belief in the divine and in spirits…does that make me spiritual? I have studied many religions and many paradigms, and have come full circle back to what I love (Hoodoo) many times. Does that make me spiritual? I pray every day and meditate every day even without a spell or a need to do such a thing, but because I WANT TO – does that make me spiritual? I have assisted people in trouble at cost to myself – both in cases of their spiritual safety and physical safety…and you feel perhaps THIS makes me spiritual?

I think anyone defending someone’s blatant theft of my work and signing her name to it (her name was SIGNED, people,) might want to consider that I have been typing up pages and pages of free spells which I could have easily put in a book for SALE since most of this blog is my original work (except where noted and quoted, you know, like proper people do,) and then being cavalier about stealing it when spoken to might want to consider WHY they would take that person’s side over mine.

The thing is, with such flimsy arguments and criticisms as those made in this person’s defense have been given, I don’t really feel the need to further defend myself against people who, lacking any creativity or intiative, could not even be bothered to directly contact me because they fully comprehend that they have no argument worthy to defend such behaviors. My grammar, spelling, and my “unenforceable laws” which certainly plagued Perez Hilton when he’s violated them are not a concern to people who wish to brand me as “unspiritual,” for asking why someone would SIGN HER NAME to a direct quote of mine and then defend it as “a friend emailed it to me” (ridiculous if you knew it already, though, right,) and say I’m “not spiritual,” for having pride in my own work. However, if you are interested on defending yourself, I have gone on some lengthy tirades in the past regarding other people I have problems with, and right here in this blog. Perhaps you can use the copy and paste function in an effort to get me to argue with you, and in the hopes I don’t recognize my own work again. Its damn good, so thanks.

    Sincerely,

    ~Cat

  • Hey all,

In celebration of the super gigantic heating oil bill I just recieved, I’m gonna say, eff money, let’s focus on LOVE! Why love? Well, because I don’t want to think about money, hahaha.

If you want to think about money or money spells (cuz I’m not helping you with that enough on this site,) please come join us all over at the Hoodoo For Everyone board!

    Daylily_3

Alrightey, before I begin (cuz I hear it ALL OF THE TIME,) we must also remember that proper action and proper thought leads to proper manifestation. What is that supposed to mean? Have faith in yourself, have faith in your spell, do not “think it to death,” and DEFINITELY remember this: spells are not insurance against acting crazy or acting against your spell. Stalking is NOT sexy, and acting like a crazy person in any way is also NOT sexy.

OK, enough of my jawing, and on with the spell!

I call this Love Heater powder, but its not traditional so that’s my silly name for it. Call it what you will. πŸ˜‰ Its the best for heating up an existing relationship, or heating up lovey feelings in a new love interest.

    You will need:
    Periwinkle powder
    Lovage root powder,
    Mace powder,
    Rose petal powder
    Lemongrass powder
    A bowl

(this can be purchased directly from Mountain Rose Herbs by clicking the banner at the bottom of the page if you are having difficulty locating any of this stuff.)

    To prepare:

Place approximately equal parts of the above herbs/roots into your bowl. If you’d like to measure it, 3 tablespoons of each is probably more than enough. Mix thoroughly. I encourage you to use something like a fork for maximum mixing. πŸ˜‰

Place both of your hands over the bowl, and envision red energy coming from your hands and entering the powder – try to send passionate/romantic energy into the powder until it “feels” full. If this doesn’t make sense to you (if I’m speaking in spell-vernacular and you’re lost,) then hold your hands over the powder for a few minutes while imagining sexy/romantic goings on with your desired spell target.

To use powders, you need to sprinkle these where the target will come in contact with the powder. I had gone over using ritual powders in an old post here, and here. I will give you a sentence you can use to name the powder while you sprinkle it: “Everytime (full name of target,) comes within contact of this powder, his/her love will grow deeper for me within the hour.”

You can also use this just by sprinkling it on your candle spells. Just anoint your candle in an appropriate love oil, (using seven strokes up, from base to wick,) and then sprinkle on this powder – it would work well with pink or red candles, even candles shaped like people (use the sex corresponding to your desired mate.) Be sure to make a name paper! Using a piece of paper with all edges torn, not cut, you write out the target’s name in black pen nine times as so:

    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname
    Firstname Lastname

Then, turn the paper so that the names are running vertically and write your name across theirs in the same fashion as above, so it forms a bit like a grid shape. When you have done so, using a red pen, write the command in a circle around the names. Now sprinkle a bit of your love heater powder into the center of the paper, and then fold in half towards you, and then fold in half towards you again. The chant should be similar to your command you’d written on the name paper. For example, if you wanted John Doe to love you, you’d say, “John Doe’s romantic and passionate feelings grow and grow for Mary Roe every moment of every day. The more John tries to resist these influences, the stronger they become. With each passing second, John’s feelings for Mary become more loving, more romantic, more passionate. This spell shall not reverse nor place upon me any curse – as is my will, so be it!” Then, allow the candle to burn out. Place the name paper beneath your front doorstep.

As always there will be questions so contact me if you have them!

Organic herbs, spices, teas and oils.

    Enjoy!

    ~Cat

Picture is COPYRIGHT originalninjacat (ie yours truly, Cat,) as is the the article. Please do not be a jackass and steal my work and call it your own, – I’ll find out, and me so litigious when it comes to that shniz. The banner is copyright Mountain Rose Herbs, and is used with permission.

***MODIFIED TO ADD*** Someone has written in and asked if these herbs are put in a base/carrier oil, could it be used as an anointing oil. The answer is yes. I usually (since I like “smelly” oils,) put into a base of equal parts lemongrass, cardamom, rose, however, the more traditional method of using a carrier oil such as almond oil, and placing the herbs into it will work fine. Please be sure to use vitamin E when working with a carrier oil like almond or grapeseed oil.

If any of you in the future would like to plagurize, I’ve made a new special catagory for that so that you can be put on display on my page too (because you obviously idolize me.) Thanks.

UPDATED TO ADD: I’m being chastised now for having an ego, and that I should just be okay with people lifting my work off of the internet because the idea was obviously one “everyone knows,” but which she could not be bothered to write in her own terms. The nerve!

I need readers to go over her site to locate any spells, text or etc which is lifted off of this site. I have a few signature spells and I need those checked out. I’ve already googled text on a regular basis, but given the response from this person, I think we need to go over and make sure nothing else of mine is up… I will give a free half-hour reading to TRUSTED people who want this job. This means you and I have a working relationship already. Thanks!

ALSO: I am not accepting ANY comments into my inbox from the “Crimson Moon” group anymore, AS I’VE BLOCKED ALL COMMUNICATIONS from there, not being interested in being further chastised for doing nothing wrong whatsoever. IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS ANYTHING WITH ME, don’t bother doing so through that venue. My contact details can be found on this page. I think its special that a few people want to give me hell for miss-spelling plagurize when the theft of intellectual property (plagurized stuff,) is a an actual crime. πŸ™‚ If you can’t find anything wrong with my argument, find something wrong with my grammar and spelling because…well, its something.

  • Well, as any of my college friends who read this blog would know, I was a gigantic follower of the Dave Matthews Band at one point, so this death feels really bad to me…his work was AMAZING. I’m still reeling from “Before These Crowded Streets,” ten years later.

He died yesterday afternoon at the young age of 46 from complications from his injuries he had sustained during an ATV accident.

WOW. There will never be an original DMB again, and the world has lost an amazing talent. I will just quote Dave on this one: “Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his ghost up today and we will miss him forever.”
