Cat’s Rants: Confessions of an Occult Mastermind

Everything you ever wanted to know about Hoodoo, Rootwork, or the Occult! The internet’s longest running occult blog, established 2004

  • Here are my pictures of this incedent. Several of my friends still have no electric, heat, or water…I was out for almost four days. πŸ˜› But enjoy!

PS- Yes, I did erase the previous post which stated that PSNH has failed to take care of this situation and shown their true colors. They have sat around with their thumbs up their arses for days. I did not see ONE PSNH (Public Service of New Hampshire, – the electric co. here,) truck for over three days, and I live in a town with a hospital in it. They did everything half-assed and messed up the entire restoration. Such ineptitude has not been seen in so long as to make this without precident…that’s how ridiculous it is. However, the Union Leader and other local papers show comments from residents of NH echoing my statements repeatedly, and many from more populous areas, so I removed much of my open letter to let other NH residents express themselves. I will say this… Ten years ago, we had an ice storm 10 times as bad, with damage several times more severe. The ice was literally so thick it was hard to see the branches, and NOT because of glare. PSNH reacted immediately and did a good job restoring MOST people’s power except those waaaay out in the hills. The roads weren’t clear or safe, but trucks came anyhow. But this year? This ice storm? I live right in town, and there was NO ELECTRIC TRUCKS ANYWHERE FOR MORE THAN THREE DAYS IN VERY COLD, WELL-BELOW-FREEZING-TEMPS WEATHER. The roads were clear, fine, very passable and very safe. All down lines were marked. There was no ice on the road, and no excuses for them not to drive on it (we all did to stay warm in the car, actually.) There was no shelter except what you could pay for. Many of my friends are still without heat, power, or water. I saw cable trucks before I saw electric trucks. It was ABSURD. This time they just sat there and said “Oh, sorry, we are trying to fix stuff we think,” and did nothing. I removed the larger part of my open letter to them because you need not hear me cuss so much. πŸ˜‰ They still suck, and I still recommend anyone associated with the company to disassociate from them since if you read the news, watch the news, or listen to the news, several people are starting to harbor violent attitudes towards the company due to their painfully inept “rescue” efforts where no one did anything until perhaps today. Millions of dollars of damage, people dying…great job PSNH. πŸ˜›

  • Some of you have come in asking me for more information regarding why my profile has changed on TypePad, and what particularly is the issue at hand. I’ve decided a public post is the speediest method of explaining.

As the blog reflects a few months back, the first issue was that the post-editor was given unimprovements which caused the editing to be slow, but also altered where certain functions had moved to the right of the editor area, whereas they had been below. While this may not be a problem for some people, I have mild dyslexia, and making changes where my editor freezes, slows, or blinks is difficult enough when I already have a problem of typing a word backwards when typing too fast. The movement of certain functions to another area further has aggravated the way my eye reads the page (aha, the graphic design degree once again aids me in something, – in this case how movement of the eye effects how one perceives a space,) and contributed to me having more difficulty in typing correctly.

When I’d begun to master the new editor and acclimate myself to the slowness, had altered how it worked a bit (there are some options,) to compensate for some of the changes, TypePad then manditorily imposed a “TypeKey” profile upon me. This changed how I comment on my own blog. This changed how I presented my name to the public.

The problem I have is that I must sign out of my own blog to comment on my profile without it putting my whole name (as it is on my credit card,) on a post or allowing it to be visible to those I am posting comments to on their blogs. While I am not really too concerned about allowing other blog-writers to know my whole given name (which in this case presents my first name as if I am actually called by that name which I am not,) I also am not aware of when the system will decide to put my full name by default onto someone’s blog PUBLICALLY, as in visible to the entire public, which I do not want to happen. My identity is basically just the name you call me by, my middle name. I realize this is difficult for some people to digest, but I know people I have known for well over a decade who still don’t know my first or last name and have been my friends a very long time.

When I complained to TypePad that I am not known by my first name, but by my middle name, and prefer to keep my unique last name anonymous to the internet public, I was told “you can use whatever PSUEDONYMS or nicknames you like…” Um, okay… Listen… I do NOT use any psuedonyms…my name is Cat. That I am not addressed by the first name given to me by my parents is true, but I have known a lot of people who simply use the initial of their first name and are addressed by their middle names like I am. Implying that I am using psuedonyms was incredibly rude. I do realize my last name is an English word and that its also an uncommon last name, ergo, with a name like Cat and a last name which is an English word it does sometimes look like I am very uncreative and can’t come up with a realistic sounding nom de plume, but its my real frikkin name.

I was also treated as being suspect for not wanting my whole given name displayed (I have stalkers already, thanks,) while posting on my blogs or others blogs. I think it is reasonable to request that my rather unique last name not be displayed on the entire internet for all to see. I also feel its reasonable to know whether or not I will appear as just “Cat” or by another name when posting to other’s blogs via this enforced “TypeKey” profile.

To make matters worse, as I’d earlier stated, I was posting to blogs, and people were looking at my profile for this site. While I am not ashamed of having an interest in the occult or in spellcraft, I do respectfully keep this interest to myself or at least toned-down when commenting on certain other people’s blogs – not out of a desire to mislead others about myself, but rather because I have MANY interests, and my interest in the occult does disturb some other people. I feel it is appropriate at times to keep this interest to myself (unless some asked me, in which case I’d confirm I do have an interest in the occult,) because sometimes I am commenting on blogs which are very much of a different topic, and which reflect interests I share with the author which are in no way related to the occult. I do not wear an “I love the occult,” tee-shirt, I do not start conversations with “I once cast a spell to ruin someone’s life, and it worked…” No, I come off as a very normal, maybe even average young lady. That this blog is about my interest in the occult and its related topics, and that you read this blog because you share my interest in the occult is GREAT, but I am not entirely defined by this interest. I love the French Revolution, Monarchy, Art, Art History, I like Crafts and Crafting, Painting… I mean…a lot of this has NOTHING to do with the occult and a lot of the people who share my other interests may be distrubed. Had I known my profile was to be freely shared as the “public profile to define all of Cat,” means it had to be changed. I’d have mentioned liking Hoodoo or the occult as one interest and then labeled my other interests, rather than mentioning several paradigms of occult interest and like 5 other things I like. πŸ˜‰

So, ultimately, I am aggravated in that I like having a profile which is suitable for my blog, and do not feel like the “general profile for Cat,” is suitable for this blog – but that, if I must have a profile avaialble when I make comments on blogs which topics are unrelated to mine, that I need a general profile, too. If you want to know more about me outside of my love of occultiness, you can always be my MySpace friend, and well…who knows what the new profile will look like when I finish it. Either way, due to the forced changes made by TypePad, I am likely going to need to create an entirely new HTML page, plus connective pages simply to ensure I am not freaking out the uber-Catholics on the monarchy blogs I populate, or the Born-Again Christians who also share my love of the yarn-arts, while also having a suitable profile for those of you who want to know more about my occult-side.

Also, as I’d said, my full name as it is on my credit card (though I sign everything with my first initial, Cat, and my last name, even checks and legal documents,) was showing up everywhere and that was not something I’d liked. I already have stalkers and choose to keep the situation one that ensures less stalkers. My full name was showing up as it pleased to do so on my own blog (ie it was showing up differently at different intervals when I posted comments on my own blog in reply. Who knows what it would do on your blog.) Also, I freaked out people with my very occultey-profile. πŸ˜‰ So… That is why my profile is changed, and there is an account of why I am pissed off at TypePad. I’ve been a total biotch to them as well, so I am sure there will be all sorts of problems with my blog in the next month or so, since I would not be surprised if I made someone cry, and they retaliated by messing with my blog. πŸ˜‰

You know a lot of clients and readers know my full name – all I ask is that I have the choice as to who knows that information and who can’t be trusted with it because they are too stalkerish to know.

If you made it this far, you rock.

    Much love,

    ~Cat

  • Hello Occulties,

Its come up to me a lot recently that several of you are looking to lighten your costs by blessing and dressing your own vigil candles. πŸ˜€ That’s great! I like seeing people taking an interest in doing for themselves…however a lot of you are lost on HOW this is properly done, so I am going to let you know how I personally was taught to bless and dress a seven -day glass-encased vigil candle.

Originally, I was told to use a coffin nail, but I have found a screwdriver (especially a warmed screwdriver,) works just as well and is easier to handle. So, get a screwdriver, and heat the end of this by either holding it in the flame of a spare candle, or by leaning it on a stove burner. PLEASE exercise caution when doing this. Many of the handles of screwdrivers can become melty if you overheat them. I personally use a spare soy candle, and heat the blade (I prefer a phillips-head over a flat-head,) for about 20 seconds in the flame, and then you punch 5 holes into the candle in a rough circle shape.

Now, add a drop of the proper oil/s into each hole you have punched into the top of the candle (for those of you who are using a lot of different oils, blend them in a seperate container or in your palm and use an eye-dropper – too much oil can cause burning difficulties with the candles,) and a sprinkling of appropriate herbs (just a pinch,) on to the top of your candle.

Place your right hand on the top of the candle and your left hand should be holding the glass chimney and say “I bless this candle to bring fast and lasting success to me in (purpose of candle). As is my will, so be it!” This is not charging the candle for spell use – that is a bit different, but I am giving you the low-down on how to DRESS the candle. πŸ˜‰

If you are burning a candle you are going to want to energetically charge the candle prior to the spell, as I have instructed in several spells. You may envision the spell energy flowing into candle from yourself (some people see this is white light, others see it as colors which correspond to the candle’s use and often its color,) or if you are still shakey about energy transferrance, you might simply hold the candle in both your hands for a few minutes while you clearly picture your desired spell outcome, or you may do both of these at once! πŸ˜‰ Once you are used to working with energy, you will have your own preferred method.

I’ll give you a few dressings you can use on an undressed seven day candle. Remember to use name papers! There are a few different methods, but I will list how to make out the name papers below the dressings.

    Controlling Candle:
    Purple seven-day glass encased candle,
    Commanding oil,
    Poppy seed,
Licorice root (powdered or a 1-2 SMALL chips,)
    Calamus root(powdered or a 1-2 SMALL chips.)

Name paper: write target’s name in black ink nine times like this:
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
Turn the paper so that the names run vertically and then write, horizontally, across them the command you wish the target to obey. Fold the paper in half once TOWARDS you. Fold in half again TOWARDS you. Place beneath candle.

    Love Drawing Candle:
    Red seven-day glass encased candle,
    Love Me oil
    Cardamom seeds
    Catnip,
    Rose petals

    Name Paper:
write target’s name nine times like this in black ink:
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
Turn paper so that the names are running vertically and write your name or the petitioner’s name horizontally across these names (it will make sort of a grid shape) in the same fashion as above:
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
Now write the command (such as “Love me,” repeated over and over or perhaps “fall deeper in love with me,” etc,) in a circle in RED pen around the names. It is okay if the circle is a rough shape. πŸ˜‰ Fold the paper in half once TOWARDS you. Fold in half again TOWARDS you. Place beneath candle.

    Money-drawing Candle:
    Green seven-day glass encased candle,
    Money-drawing Oil,
    Nutmeg
    Irish moss flakes,
    Dragon’s blood resin

Name paper: Write your name or the petitioner’s name 7 times like this:

    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
    FirstName LastName
Turn the paper so the names are running vertically and write your command seven times horizontially over the names in the same fashion as above, ie:
    Command
    Command
    Command
    Command
    Command
    Command
    Command
Your command can be anything you desire, but a few examples might include “Has lots of money,” or “Attracts money magnetically,” etc. Fold the paper in half once TOWARDS you. Fold in half again TOWARDS you. Place beneath candle.

I hope this has been educational. πŸ™‚

  • Yes, I know you leave comments and put links to your sites…sometimes this is okay if its another blog, or something we might be interested in. However, I think your dating sites and penis-enlargement schemes are inappropriate given the topic of my blog, and furthermore, I’m not an advertising vehicle for you in any capacity. I appreciate people reading my blog and leaving comments, but they are all MODERATED, so please stop trying to sell your Viagra via my blog…its just not going to happen. I see your spam and I delete it before anyone else does.

Mind you, I don’t need Viagra (I have a vagina, and my guy is quite virile, thanks,) I don’t need a dating site (not single, wouldn’t use one if I were,) and I definitely don’t need penis-enlargement (again, I have a vagina, and my guy is already hung enough, more would be uncomfortable, but thx,) and pre-emptively, weight loss and body-image is not a problem for me or anyone else in my household as we are all freaking gorgeous and fit and sex-ay, thanks.

And leave your porno links elsewhere… If I want to see a hot naked chick, I’ll stand in front of a mirror naked, and if I want to see a hot chick have sex with a hot guy, I’ll move the mirror to my bedroom…which actually sounds entertaining, unlike your porno. πŸ˜‰

  • Hi everyone,

So, don’t know if you had all heard – I managed to wrench my wrist in a super-cool “somersault off of the bed and hand you this remote,” move gone horribly awry. πŸ˜‰ Now I look a bit like “robo-rootworker” or like I have a Batman hand on the left… except it doesn’t do cool Batman things… it just LOOKS like it might. Ah well, I only need to wear this brace for a little while, and though I’m typing a lot slower, its all good. Maybe I’ll make less typos this way. πŸ˜‰

Either way, Princess Dorky-pants (that’s me,) has come here to FINALLY get that job spell for you. It was unfortunate it took this long, but I seriously asked my clients “please don’t send your old friend Cat some excessive levels of email, especially those which are like ‘what is your insight on this guy giving me a sort of weird look the other day, and please be sure to include references to major books, a bibliography, and at least 2 paragraphs regarding the reason why you made these 10 statements in a previous email, and I’ve numbered them for you here.’” Yes, people send me s*** like this all of the time. πŸ˜‰ Anyhow, as soon as I asked people not to bombard me with 800 emails similar to those referenced above, I was bombarded with those very emails. I think every email I received contained the phrase “I wanted your opinion on…” Batmanarm2
And you all know your old friend Cat LOVES giving her opinion on things usually, but when she’s injured and just trying to get her neccisary work done, its a little thoughtless to proceed with the “125 question I could ask Batman-arm at a later date,” especially when she asked you pretty pretty please to contain yourself with those types of emails for a bit – outside of major emergencies of course….but at least it clarified who is reading my client’s section, who’s on the Hoodoo for Everyone board, and who just ignores all of that stuff, and figures its okay to even ignore my regular “office” hours (which don’t occur on the weekend, by the way,) because all of it is just an inconvenience to certain people.

Well, let me warn you… I took a lot of time writing this out and know I’m gonna be really really descriptive here because its been bottled up thanks to my robo-hand. You were warned. πŸ˜‰

    Moving on…

First, before we proceed to the materials list, I would like to remind you that if you don’t actively go out and seek a job, no one will know you are looking, and that will make this spell pretty ineffective. This spell is for people willing to put in applications, and not for people who refuse to leave their home or let employers know they are seeking employment. Not letting others know you are seeking employment will effect this spell in a similar manner to what chasing your ex down the street with an axe would do for a recon spell, which, for those of you unclear on that, means it would negatively effect this spell. We clear on that? Cool.

Now that we’ve all agreed to actively apply for jobs/seek employment in conjunction with this spellwork, you will need:
Bay Laurel leaves, crushed or powdered
    Goldenseal root, powdered
    Lemongrass, fined or powdered
    Red sandalwood, powdered,
    Cinnamon, powdered
    Charcoal disks for burning incense
An incense holder/censer designed to burn charcoal disks (see images close and with flash, I am holding the screen piece with a charcoal disk on it so you can see it clearer, the brighter one will pop up to a full size if clicked,)
    Censer-close
    Censer-flash
A medium to large lodestone, or a magnet between 1.5-3inches diameter
Magnetic dust, aka steel dust, aka lodestone food – OPTIONAL, you can substitute golden colored steel dust for regular steel dust, –
    Crown of Success oil,
Four gold (orangey-yellow) candles of the same size (you will also need 4 brass candle holders of the same size if using candles which do not stand freely,)
A picture of yourself or the person you are doing the spell for (you may wish to use a computer print out of an image if its precious to you as I am certain it will be ruined in the process of this spell,)
A flat area such as a table top or altar which can remain undisturbed OR if this is not an option, a cookie sheet or baking sheet which you can move and store,
    A bowl for mixing,
    A lighter.

    Prep:
Place about 2 tablespoons of each herbal ingredient (red sandalwood, bay laurel, lemongrass, goldenseal, cinnamon,) into your bowl. Blend until mixed. Place both your hands over the mouth of the bowl, and picture green, gold, and violet energy surging from your hands into the bowl**, filling the powder with this energy. When you feel as though you have filled the powder with this energy, while still holding your hands over the bowl say, “I infuse this with the power to draw to me/(name of target) a job, wealth and prosperity, as is my will, so it be.”

**For those readers unaccustomed to energy work or who just feel they cannot really accomplish it properly, hold both hands over the mouth of the bowl, and envision yourself in your new job for a few minutes, see yourself with extra income, and see yourself prosperous in your minds eye. Then say the short chant over the powder given above.

    Set your powder aside.

I have put a picture guide for the altar up. Sorry about my handwriting, but I hope this freehand guide helps a bit.Set up

Make sure your altar or cookie sheet (if you’ve chosen the “moveable” method,) is clean. I recommend wiping down with an ammonia based cleaner or Florida Water in a spray bottle. Now place the altar in a place where you can work (if it is a movable top.)

Anoint your lodestone or magnet thoroughly with Crown of Success oil, and place this atop the photo in the center of the altar. Using your right hand, make a circle around the lodestone and image by sprinkling your powder around it in a circle. Take more powder into your right hand and with a sweeping motion create an X through the circle with the image and stone being in the center part of the X. The X is created by a motion of the hand from the northwest (if we were looking at the circle as a compass image,) to the southeast, then the northeast to southwest. If this is ridiculously confusing to you, just make an X with the powder, so that the center of the X is where your picture and the lodestone is. You’ll be OK. πŸ˜‰

Sprinkle a liberal amount of steel dust on to your lodestone/magnet.

Anoint your four candles UP (base to wick,) with your Crown of Success oil, using seven strokes of the hand to each candle, and place a candle at the four end points of your X.

Place your censer to the top right part of the altar, and light the disc. Place your powder and your magnetic dust either in the bottom right corner of the altar or on a seperate table.

    Spell:
Place a pinch of your powder on to the lit charcoal disc in your censer.

Light your four candles starting (again as if we were looking at the altar like it were the face of a map,) with the northwestern candle, and then moving in a clockwise direction until all four candles are lit.

Hold your hands out to either side of the altar, upwards (visually, you might be looking like you are offering a hug,) so that your hands are above the altar but spread far enough that the altar (or altar set up,) would be between them if you lowered them. Breathe deeply and envision gold energy flooding down from the sky into you, through the crown of your head. Now turn your hands downwards towards the set up, envisioning the energy flowing through the crown of your head, through you, and down to the set up. See the energy go to the candles and then run along the lines you made with the powder to the picture and lodestone. If this is too complicated or you are uncomfortable with energy work because you feel you are not capable of it, simply try to keep the mental image of yourself with your new job and prosperous in your minds eye while you go through the physical motions I’ve mentioned. As you hold your downcast palms towards the altar set up (and still keeping your energy flowing out if you’re doing the energy work,) say, “I draw to the perfect job to me, I draw to myself the perfect job and great prosperity. With this lodestone” (or magnet, if that’s what you are using,) “my perfect job is magnetically drawn to me, prosperity is magnetically drawn to me. (You can here put more specifics on the job you are looking for, ie “The perfect dental assistant job that earns 56k a year and is within a 30 mile radius from my home is drawn to me,”) What I ask is mine, my desires are manifesting as a speak. This spell shall not reverse nor place upon me any curse, as is my will, so be it!” Cease sending power into the altar set up.

Allow your candles to burn out all of the way. You may remove the holders when they have burnt out, and the censer, and containers of powder and steel dust but leave the lodestone and powders on your altar – “feeding” the lodestone regularly (at least once a week) with steel dust, until your job has manifested. You may decide to keep the dressed lodestone over your picture on a money altar, or wrapped up in a green cloth and kept in the home (so long as you regularly “feed” the stone,) to keep drawing prosperity to you. The powders may be swept off of the altar when the job has manifested.

Also, dust your applications with a bit of this powder (if in paper form – obviously do not dust your computer with it for email applications,) before sending it or dropping it off to your employer if you’d like to add extra power to your spell. You can also use the powder as an incense and “smoke” the applications instead by passing them through the smoke instead of dressing them with powder if you prefer.

I am sure their will be a wealth of questions, so email me if there are.

  • Hey my occulties,

You know, October was a bad month for your friend, Cat. I gave over 40 hours of consultations to irresponsible jackasses who never paid for what they told me they wanted – no, they proposed a pay date, they wasted hours of my time making out a spellcasting plan for them, and then, voila, they disappeared like twinkies at a fat camp reunion. They couldn’t even be bothered to tell me they didn’t want the work they’d requested and promised payment for on x date – even when I gave a gentle reminder that the day they’d “wanted” to have the transaction take place had come and gone. Today, I was a bad doobie (I guess,) and I basically told those people what I think of them. I realize this showed my bad side to my public, but I even pray that those people don’t so much as come in and ever read my blog again. They can go eff themselves. Their behavior stole time from people who actually need my time and treat me with basic respect, which effing makes me even more mad than just having my personal time completely wasted…because I could have just used the extra time working for and helping those people who show me a normal level of respect I’d expect from anyone. I mean, if I’m gonna spend my time trying to help people, I hope its time spent helping people who deserve that time, and who appreciate the fact that I give them my time. So, if you are one of those people who wasted my time and acted like a complete A-hole, don’t read the Cat’s Rants site, don’t bother me, and please go directly to hell. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, just go directly to hell. πŸ™‚ May you have more than forty hours working at your job for absolutely no compensation ahead of you, as well. That’s my holiday wish just for you. πŸ˜€

Lastly, I don’t care if this entry makes me lose some business – because its only business from the type of people I wouldn’t want to deal with, anyways – so…good, please don’t bother me if you’re an irresponsible time-wasting jackass.

Thanks for listening to me, and I hope to continue having some really awesome people sent my way…maybe I filled my dealing-with-jackasses quota for like…the decade – its only got a little more than a year left to it, but I sure hope so. πŸ˜‰

    Sincerely,

    ~Cat

  • Hey Occulties,

I wrote this article not only for those of you who cast your own spells, but also in part for those who purchase/request spells. In my work, I’ve come to a point where I can easily identify people who are going to have a low-level of success and those who will will have a high level of success. Hopefully this will help more people have successful spell outcomes.

    Trait #1: Positive Thinking
By positive thinking, I’m not speaking on some sort of airy-fairy chirpiness which will ultimately irritate the everloving crap out of those around you. I never ever want to create a world of Pollyanna-like spellcasters….I’ll leave that to the Llewellyn Publishing House. πŸ˜‰ Believe it or not, the overly-optimistic person is about as fun as the overly-pessimistic person – both grate on ones nerves after about three meetings with them. πŸ˜‰

Instead, what I’m trying to impart here is that you need to have a strong faith in yourself and in the spellwork. Rather than becoming negative and pissy every time you THINK you’ve seen a negative development, or you feel as though you aren’t getting any visible signs of manifestation, don’t take the moment to panic or have an emotional fit, but rather keep strong and faithful in your belief your spell is working.

I believe I’ve told the story before, but I once had a rather horrid altracation with a fellow I was trying to reconcile to myself, soon after a spell. I remember going to bed after that fight feeling a bit bewildered at his actions, especially when I was sending reconciliatory energy, only to be pleasantly surprised the next day as it was opening needed for him to come and apologize – not only for the fight, but for a lot of his behavior prior to it.

Remember, spells use the path of least resistance to manifest. Sometimes what seems like a step backwards to the petitioner, is actually a needed occurance for the spell to move forward. Rather than get into a big emotional snit, or use the episode as an excuse to behave negatively, keep faith in your spell. Little “speedbumps” on the road to manifestation happen to everyone from time to time. πŸ˜‰

    Trait #2: A Calm Mind
A good mage avoids hysterics, avoids negative thought patterns, and tries to keep a clear mind. A good petitioner does the same. While this may sound similar to the above trait, its is not the same thing.

If you have no control over your own mind, you will never be successful in spellcasting. Petitoners who constantly complain about their mental state to me are some of those I identify as apt to have issues with manifestation. Not every situation requires distress, panic, anger, nor, I should hope, should MOST situations require such behaviors.

Instead, if you can think with a clear and still mind, keeping it free of irrational emotions, you will find as a spellcaster, that you can properly direct your energy, while also avoiding a loss of energy on un-needed stress over, what is usually (see above trait,) nothing to worry about as is. πŸ˜‰ While having faith in the spellwork will usually provide some level of a calm mind, it is also something which the petitioner must develop within themselves. Should you be prone to panic attacks, melodrama, or hysterics, you need to work on this problem – it bespeaks a very tumultuous mind. :S

A good spellcaster and a good petitioner avoids panic, and keeps his/her mind calm, clear, and directed towards the desired end WHEN casting, does not pick at how and why the spell may manifest, and allows the energy to be “let go,” to manifest. S/he does not worry or panic about the little speeds bumps on the road to manifestation, but rather calmly adjusts his or her behavior to aid the spell when needed.

    Trait #3: Discretion
I had spoke in this post about the four basic tenets of spellcasting, and one was “To Keep Silent.” A problem I see in many petitioners is a need to brag about a spell which hasn’t manifested, or a desire to confide in several people about a spell which has not manifested, therefore putting the spell energies at risk.

While it is certainly a positive thing that in many countries we are given quite a bit of freedom of religion, and therefore can practice our spellwork without fear of punishment from the government, this is/was not the only reason to keep your mouth shut. πŸ˜‰

As I’ve stated many times, a spell is energy which has been raised and directed at a situation. Thoughts also have energy, but less so than a spell. Allow me to place an excerpt from a previous post discussing this which I felt was very educational regarding a thoughts effect on a spell:

Spells are basically concentrated energy, which is being directed towards manifesting a certain goal. By utilizing the energy within ourselves and within certain plants (and minerals and animals as well,) and even occaisionally employing godforms, spirits, saints, entities, or demons, we can combine this with spellwork to realize our goal. HOWEVER, thoughts also have energy. No, a thought may not be as concentrated or strong as a spell…it is better to think of this like a spell being a giant boulder, and a thought being a pebble…both are the same thing in a way, but a thought is smaller, and no I am not calling spells rocks, I am just giving you a visual here. Now, going back to the visual, imagine for me if you will, that this boulder (our spell) is rolling towards a destination (our goal for the spell,) and yet every time we think of this boulder (our spell,) we are doing the equivellant of hucking a pebble at the boulder and chipping a piece off, ie making it smaller, less effective, etc. Now, if we only think of the spell a little bit, we are still gonna have a big “boulder,” when it reaches the destination…but if we think about the spell constantly, we are not going to have anything reach the destination at all, because we will have broken it down to nil. So…what I am trying to get across here, is that a spell is energy, and your thoughts are energy, and this can lead to your thoughts dissolving a spell because you are mentally attacking the spell, if you will.

Just as the spellcaster/petitioner’s thoughts can attack the spell energy, so too can an outside person, made aware of the spell, attack the spell energy with their thoughts, and in doing so, lessen the power of the spell.

Furthermore, some people may lack discretion about the spell, and may actually tell others, which may lead to your spell target (if that is a person,) discovering that you have cast a spell on them. While this may be helpful in certain situations (I can think of a few incidents where a person, believing they were cursed, made themselves quite sick with worry,) it may also quite hinder your spell, especially in the case of a love or reconcilitation spell. :S

It is always better to keep QUIET about spellcasting. I used the term “discretion,” because I feel there are always instances you might be entirely safe telling someone who is also a competent spellcaster about your spell, however, you need to know who the knowledge is safe with. πŸ˜‰

    Trait #4: Accountability
I’m sure everyone has met the person who believes its everyone’s fault but their own. If they slip and fall, its the fault of the walk not being salted and sanded enough; if they go broke, its their parents’ and their teachers’ faults for not teaching them enough about paying their bills and making a budget; if they become clingy and crazy to their ex, its their ex’s fault for not showing them enough affection, etc. πŸ˜›

The highly-effective spellcaster and/or petitioner does not fall into this trap. S/he takes responsibility for his/her own actions which led to the situation s/he finds him/herself in.

If you were clingy and this chased away your ex, this happened because YOU were clingy, and refused to observe the signals to back off. That your ex is not affectionate enough may be true (perhaps the affection began to wane as a response to the clinginess,) but that does not mean you had a green light to become a clingy, smothery mess.

That you are in debt and can’t pay your bills because you didn’t budget your money is not the fault of your boss, your parents, your teachers, or even those billing you – you were responsible for the bills, and probably spent the money on things which you likely did not require. You were warned what the amount would be, and as an adult it was your responsibility to budget the money out for the bills.

Until you start taking responsibility for yourself, you are not apt to get anywhere good in life, and you will most definitely lack success in your spellcasting… but why? How does that fit in spellcasting?

Well, a good spellcaster recognized the faults or the places where s/he lacked good judgement and corrects the behaviors which led him/her to the undesirable state s/he is in now. This prevents the undesired state from reoccuring, and lessens the liklihood of a need for more spellcasting on the problem. Instead of needing a money spell just to pay the bills every month, you will reap the added income from the money spell, AND comfortably pay the bills. Instead of having to use a “return to me,” spell every time Cleetus leaves, you will not chase him off with clingy behavior again, and therefore won’t NEED a second spell to remedy the situation.

Am I getting through to you here? I hope so. πŸ˜‰

    Trait #5: Decisiveness
An effictive spellcaster/petitioner should have a clear goal, and a solid “plan of attack,” for reaching that goal.

The ineffective spellcaster/petitioner constantly changes his/her mind as to what s/he wants, and therefore often either needs to recast certain spells (after some adjustment,) or simply decides s/he doesn’t want the original “desired outcome,” at all. πŸ˜›

This seems to be a more common occurance for me to hear with cursing spells, but its something which happens in many different situations. Remember, spellwork isn’t to be taken lightly, nor is it something I recommend executing solely out of a fit of passion (see trait #2,) but rather something which is CLEARLY desired and of a desire not likely to change in the next 48 hours. πŸ˜‰

Alrightey…its not a complete list, I’m sure, but I do hope this is of use to some of you. πŸ™‚ There will be questions, so please use the contact me link to your left, and contact me should you have any.

  • Hi Occulties,

So I’m still working on the effing color article, and yes its taking me forever. I’ll leave it at that. πŸ˜‰

The spell begins after my lovely dedication of it to people who apparently really need it.

This spell I’m writing out for all of you is dedicated to the people who need to get the eff out of their effing house and have some fun for a change. I don’t give an elephant if your intended might call, email, text, IM or boohoohoo. I know you know how to find them and you can be mysterious and return the call/email/text/IM/etc later. Listen guys and gals, I’m done arguing with you about thinking it to death, because the reason you are is like six of you wrote me today about how you sat by your phone waiting for a call! AND you were using CELL PHONES! You can be mobile with a freakin’ MOBILE PHONE, but you are doing the death watch to your cell phone, and just sitting there in your dang house doing that being immobile next to the phone! Why? I have seen daytime television and there is no reason for that behavior on your part.

Did we NOT go over this “don’t be a martyr for love” thing? Did I not tell you to stop that sillybusiness and go out and have fun? Then what the eff are you doing? Are you really THAT addicted to MySpace and your PC?

That just won’t do, peeps. Lets get your beautiful shapely rear ends out of those chairs (after you finish reading Cat’s Rants,) and towards your altars, and then out into the sunshine or moonlight (or dawn or dusk,) because all of you need to GET OUT AND HAVE SOME EFFING FUN FOR ONCE.

There, I’ve said it. To the spell (AND ITS SOOOOO EASY!):

    You will need:

    A strong magnet
A stainless steel dog-tag in the shape of a heart or a circle
    Come to Me oil,
    Come to me powder,
    Superglue
    A picture of your target,
A picture of yourself (or the petitioner,)

    Prep:
Glue the image of yourself (or the petitioner,) to the magnet, and glue an image of the target to the dog-tag. Allow both to dry (this should only take a few moments, but I don’t need you supergluing yourself to either.) πŸ˜‰ Add a few drops of Come to Me oil to the magnet.

    Spell:
Before I begin, remember, you can change the chant to suit yourself, just remember that it needs to be in the present tense, and you must avoid using negatives (no, not, never.)

Hold the magnet in both your hands, and say, “I conjure this magnet to draw all which I wish drawn to me. As this magnet represents me, so shall it be that I all which I draw to this magnet is drawn to me.” Put aside for a moment.

Hold the dog-tag in both your hands, and envision your target. Say “I baptise you (full name of target,) and that which I do to thee, I do to s/he.”

Make a circle of Come to Me powder on your altar, place the magnet to the left, and the dog tag to the right inside of this circle. Place your left hand on the magnet, and say, “All which I draw to this magnet is irresistibly drawn to me,” move your magnet slowly towards the tag, repeating “All which I draw to this magnet is irresistibly drawn to me,” while you do so. Within a few seconds, your dog tag should be drawn to the magnet and will stick to it. When this has happened, say “Now (target’s name) is irresistibly drawn to me, s/he is where I plan to be, always drawn to meeting with me, as is my will, so it be.”

Leave the magnet/tag together inside the circle, and get on out of your house… You should run into your target* within a few hours.

*HOWEVER, if you live in a different country, state or just ridiculously far from your target, realistically, they are not apt to jump on a plane and come running to some odd bar or club to meet you. This is to draw a local target, so please be reasonable with its use. πŸ˜‰ While I expect spanking good results if you and your target live within 20 miles of each other, you should choose a different spell in cases of long distance.

That being said, I have altered this spell at times for use with a specific thing. You can use it to draw money, for example, using a circular dog tag (you can even get them in green or gold,) with a money symbol carved onto the tag. In place of Come to Me, you might use something like Fast Luck (for either love or money,) Attraction (for either love or money again,) or money drawing (for, obviously, money.) πŸ˜‰

Email me if there are questions, as I’m sure there will be.

Elephant-shaped Ganesh growth cured my ills, Queens man says

To most people, the purple flower that sprouted between two concrete slabs in a Queens backyard would be just a hardy vestige of summer.

Sam Lal sees something more. Amd_ganesh-flower

The Jamaica man is convinced the mysterious blossom is an incarnation of the elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesh – and neighbors and friends are flocking to see it.

The nearly 4-foot-tall flower grew in June and began to resemble an elephant’s head and trunk in August. Lal said that the ailments that had plagued him for months disappeared.

“This formation came to heal my illness,” the 60-year-old Hindu man said of his relief from pain due to a bone spur near his spine and bulging discs in his neck.

“They say God comes in many forms. I figure this has taken the form of a plant to come into my yard to bless me,” said Lal, who immigrated from Guyana three decades ago.

Experts at the Queens Botanical Garden identified the plant as a member of the amaranth family, which is native to Africa, India and southern Central America but not the U.S. Horticulturalists at the garden have never seen an amaranth take an elephant-like shape, garden spokesman Tim Heimerle said.

“For it to have that long trunk like this is not a natural thing,” he said.

Lal believes the flower’s position – growing through concrete, facing a garage he converted to a prayer space – is evidence of a connection to Ganesh, revered as the Remover of Obstacles.

A manager at a Manhattan uniform company, Lal hurt his back lifting a box and was in pain for 3-1/2 months – but no more.Amd_ganesh

“I felt that healing power that came with it,” he said. “I’ve lived a religious life all my life. I feel my prayers have been answered through the deities.”

Friends and neighbors have already streamed to his 90th Ave. home to see the flower, and Lal said he’d welcome pilgrimages by Hindu faithful.

He knows some people will be skeptical and insisted he did nothing to sculpt the flower.

Heimerle said that wouldn’t be possible anyway, because the plant is too fragile.

“Nature is a strange thing, and it’s possible it may have just done that spontaneously, but who’s to say,” Heimerle said.

With the fall chill in the air, Lal fears the flower may die like other amaranths, which are usually killed by winter frost.

“It’s a little upsetting,” said Lal, who covers the flower with plastic at night to protect it from cold. “It hurts me to know I’ll lose it.”

  • Hey my lovies,

Sorry for the delay. Your friend Cat is having a hideous time with this new “improved” site editor here – it freezes up all of the time and I need to save and then re-open my post so I can edit it. I make a lot of typos. πŸ˜‰ I never even spell check anything (can you tell,) hand correct my typos, compose in where I need to write my own html, and the effing thing freezes up. :X

    Alrightey, on to your questions…

Q: When spellcasting, do I need to wait for the moment my candles go out to inter my name papers?

A: No, I feel if you inter them within a reasonable amount of time it has no negative effect on the spell. I’d sure be wasting a lot of my day sitting in my ritual area if I had to wait for the exact moment each candle self-extinguishes. πŸ˜‰ After the spell candle has finished, try finding a time within the next 24 hours to inter the paper, and you should not expect any sort of negative effect to the spell.

Q: Do you think that some people are gifted with a natural ability to cast spells, and others lack the gift? I know you say everyone can learn, but knowing how to do something doesn’t mean someone is successful at it.

A: I would agree that some people are more naturally endowed with an ability to cast spells, and other need to work harder to learn to successfully cast a spell, – however, being or not being successful with Red fall leaf
spellcraft is less to do with whether or not you are naturallly endowed with the ability to cast spells and more to do with your ability to control your mind and your actions.

Everyone can learn spellcraft, and most if not all will succeed with it to some degree. That there are those that just start spellcasting with wild success while others need to practice and study is just like any other sort of ability human beings can master. I picked up spellcraft and had few problems becoming adept at it quickly, while others struggle with it – however I tried to learn to play an instrument, and have never had an easy time learning music while others pick up a guitar and practically instantly can play rather well. This doesn’t imply any person is less or more gifted, just that we are all endowed with certain inclinations towards different talents. If we were all endowed with the same gifts and predilections, the human race probably would not have survived and adapted as well as we have, so this is a good thing.

I think the main problem with spellcasting is how much control the spellcaster has over his or her mind. For example, I can seperate myself from my situation enough to keep it out of my mind – therefore, while I certainly have the ability obsess to the nth degree (as I think we all can if we let ourselves,) I am also able to live my life and let the situation go enough to have it manifest. πŸ˜‰ Other people can’t let their situation go enough to let the spell manifest. They claim they can’t “help themselves,” and need to sit alone and obsess about their situations. Well, they won’t have much success. You need to let the situation go, and allow the spell to manifest.

Another issue is self-control outside of just your mental state. Remember, I always say that proper action and proper thought are important factors in spellcraft. If you cast a super strong spell, don’t think it to death, and then freak out when you see your ex and chase them down the street with an axe…well, your reconciliation spell will not work. At all. Ever. I realize most of us know not to chase people down the street with an axe no matter how tempted we may be sometimes, but I am trying to get across that spellcraft is not a safety net against crazy behavior, and what might strike some people as “normal,” is far from it to the rest of the world. For example, when someone tries to come back to you, in the initial stages where they are calling and saying they miss you, badgering them about who they’ve been out with in your absence and then trying some emotional blackmail on them is not helpful whatsoever to your cause. Neither is smothering them. Or if you want to make money and cast a spell to do so, sitting in your home doing nothing and speaking to no one (just watching a lot of old movies on AMC, say,) is not apt to help increase your income. Work WITH your spell, not against it. If you can’t, you probably won’t be a successful spellcaster.

So…while I agree some people do have a natural talent, and some need to work to acheive the same level of success, I believe we can all be successful spellcasters. Usually the problems people have preventing spell manifestation are rooted in behavioral and emotional problems. If those problems can be overcome, then a higher level of success with spellcasting will be reached.

Short answer, we can all be successful if we try to be, though some people may have to work through behavioral and emotional issues before they see strong success.

Q: In your opinion, what is the best course of action for someone who has been cursed or has had a spell put on them?

A: First of all, if you have some protective spells, and do a regular cleansing of yourself and your area, you are going to go a long way towards protecting yourself from being affected from another’s spellcraft.

However, someone may get through. If such is the case, and you know or or are reasonably certain that you know who the culprit is, your next recommended course of action should be to reverse the spellcraft put on you. This person sent it to you, you are simply giving them back what they sent so that they can enjoy it. πŸ˜‰ When you’ve reversed the spellcraft (or if you just wanted to remove rather than reverse the spell,), I recommend taking a 13-herb bath to cleanse off residual negativity. You may need to do a cleansing spell before taking your 13-herb bath if you choose not to reverse but just remove the spell.

Cleanse your home, and look for charms which may have been left. Scan your yard, your car, your home (under, inside,) everywhere on your property for suspicious looking items or weird mounds (a buried charm.) Should you encounter anything, let your friend, Cat, know because you need to dispose of it.

Now, be sure to stregthen your protective spells around you. Protection spells are prevention for you – if you’re well protected, it will be very difficult for those using spells against you to be successful.

Q: What is the best herb to use for getting someone to communicate with you?

A: For an herb, I’d recommend tobacco, however both parrot feathers and quicksilver/mercury are also useful in illiciting communication (not that one is advised to handle mercury, as it is poisionous, IMG_0339
and I legally can’t advise you to procure it and use it for magic/kal purposes…not that I can stop you if you do decide to use it, I just have to warn you that its bad for you to handle, and could be illegal to possess. Nanny-state warning over.)

Q: If spellwork can’t be guaranteed, and its something which requires the petitioner to have faith in it to work, why, in your opinion, should anyone believe it to be real?

A: First of all, if something had to work all of the time for me to believe it were real, there would be several appliances and vehicles in my past which must be a figment of my imagination since they all broke down and didn’t work. Also…people who’ve been consitpated don’t have colons then (I never get backed up, I tend to be on the other side of that particular spectrum, so my colon isn’t imaginary,) because if their butt can’t make poop (at least there is no visible result manifested in the toilet,) that tells me, by your thinking, that which doesn’t work all of the time does not exist, ergo their colon is non-existant.

BUT CAT, you say, I HAVE CONCRETE PROOF OF COLONS, CARS, AND APPLIANCES. THOSE ARE PHYSICAL THINGS. TRY AGAIN.

    Very well, then, I will.

Sickness… Its been proven that if you have faith in the drug/medicine/treatment used to treat your sickness, you heal faster. πŸ™‚ Also, sometimes a treatment doesn’t work, despite all best efforts…does it make the treatment fake if 99% of the world is cured by it and you are in the errant 1%? No, the treatment is still real and believable.

Having faith in the medical treatment improves results, but no results are guaranteed. Hmm…food for thought.

There are so many mysteries humans are too small-minded to understand. I view spellcraft as that which science has not yet learned how to quantify, therefore they make the excuse that its not real. Come now, if you told people 500 years ago about atoms and atomic particles and whatnot, I’d be roasting marshmallows over your heretical corpse while we burned it at the stake…or we’d have put you in an insane asylum for just not making sense. People used to think the world was flat, too.

While skepticism is good, assuming something is fake simply because you are going to succeed more if you have faith in it (true of anything in life – faith = increased success,) and because it doesn’t work all of the time (sorry about that 1% or so,) doesn’t make much sense to me, but you are free to think however you please. I’m not telling you to think its real. If you don’t think its real, you are an easier target to me anyhow. >:D I don’t have to tell you what I’m doing, and only the petitioner needs to believe in themselves…even then I’ve seen a few doubting Thomases impress themselves when they were skeptical, so pure faith is apparently not required, either.

Anyhow, I can’t guarantee the sun will rise tomorrow, so anyone telling you anything is guaranteed in life is full of s*** and potatoes.

Also, why are you reading my site if you think spellcraft is BS? That says a lot about you. πŸ˜‰

That’s it for me, kids…thanks for participating this year!!!!!
