  • A friend of mine posted this to her Facebook. I’m passing his story along just in case anyone can make a donation to help Walter the puppy. You know I’m a “dog-person” (I love dogs so much,) but if you aren’t, I ask that you please read the story of Walter and decide for yourself if you have any money to spare to help with his treatment.

  • Rationalizing why you did something to harm the spell or how you are somehow unaccountable for some action due to ignorance, mental fragility, or any other reason is not helpful. If you engage in this sort of thing, all you are doing is wasting your time. A spell is energy, and guess what? It doesn’t have any pity for you because you made a booboo or had a bad day.

All too often I hear this, so let’s do some examples…

Reconciliation “Well, I didn’t behave weird or act uncomfortable for the reason you theorized, actually it was that I’d eaten some nachos, and I wasn’t feeling so well, so (name some spell target here) may have seen my stabbing gut pains and immenent diarrhea as me acting uncomfortable, but its not like my not feeling well is my fault or that I should be in some form of trouble because I didn’t feel well. If (name some spell target here) can’t understand I was not feeling well despite the fact I never told him/her that I was about to explode in new and horrifying ways the moment I sat down on the toilet, then s/he really is just a jerk.”

Job spell: “I think its pretty unfair to say that I didn’t get that job through any fault of my own. I didn’t realize that my cat, Fluffy, who was just a mere 17 years old would need a kidney transplant, and she died anyhow. I mean, I did bring my cell along, but I couldn’t call in a timely manner because I was busy. If this effing job spell works so well, it would have extended the deadline for me to return Mr Employer’s call by at least a day, so I could have dealt with the loss of Fluffy. I knew the deadline, but I’m human and I forgot because I was busy trying to figure out Fluffy’s last wishes and she departed this earth only like a DAY before the deadline. So, whatever.”

Love: “While I realize its bad to spy on people, how would I know that (name of target) put something on his/her Facebook page that made him/her able to see how many times someone looked on his/her profile? So I looked several times during the day… I mean, its embarassing and all that my target found out, but obviously, since I was unaware that its possible to do such a thing, its not my fault and the spell should just overcome that right?”

Its a little late for me or else I’d keep going. πŸ˜‰ I can do this all night for all types of spell…

    So let’s clarify:
*I do not blame you for having phsyical, emotional, or mental issues. I do not blame you for unexpected misfortunes. I probably feel rather badly that anything bad happened to you.
*My pity (or anyone else’s pity) for your circumstances does not help you when it comes to a spell.
*Active spellwork has about as much care about you and your reasons or excuses why you did something as a fire has care about your reasons or excuses as to why you were accidentally burnt by it. It doesn’t care. Rationalizing your behaviors to a spell only convinces you that you did nothing wrong and “deserve” a second chance even though you can’t ask something without intelligent reasoning (such as a spell) for that very thing.
*It is usually not impossible to act against spellwork. If you do find yourself in certain circumstances where you are in a situation that you can’t avoid acting against the work, I suggest being prepared to redo the work, and minimizing the damage by not engaging in bad behaviors like spying EVER, or in the case of diarrhea-recon, that you pointedly say something you ate is having a bad effect on you (JUST TELL THEM YOU FEEL SICK FROM FOOD, don’t pretend nothing’s wrong because its embarrassing for you to admit what is wrong,) and you DO NOT try to stand there and keep going with some conversation if you seriously feel ill.

Maybe because of my job, people feel explaining something to me when they mess up (through no fault of their own or simply because they didn’t think it would have any effect,) will somehow free them of any bad effect. That would be wrong. I can’t make your eff up be not an eff up. I can’t change time backward so you can not eff up. I’m not a God, and… Guess what? I’m not your spell. I have emotions, I have feelings, I have pity. Your spell has no pity. It doesn’t care. Its like…if you wanted to catch rain in a bucket to drink the water, and then you forgot you left something on top of the bucket and so the rain could not get in it, guess what? The rain, the bucket, and the rainwater don’t give a fork that your bucket is empty because you made a mistake. Explaining to the sky or the rain or the bucket, that you MEANT to catch the water so can it please fill itself up now (or that you were just being spacey because your pet hamster was giving birth and you weren’t thinking straight, etc,) is not going to fill that effing bucket with water.

Do not rationalize your behavior to me (definitely, because all you get from me is “Wow, that’s too bad, sorry to hear that,”) but also… You effed up, maybe it wasn’t your fault, but you did. Admit to yourself “I effed up.” Once you do that, instead of trying to make it “okay” by explaining yourself to anyone (including you) is a waste of time. We all make mistakes. Perhaps there is some value in examining why you did that, but its not going to change that you have done something to make your spell less effective or entirely ineffective. No amount of explaination or apology will change that fact.

I realize someone will try to bring up the use of spirit work, or similar, as a way to disagree, and that type of spellwork NOT WHAT I AM DISCUSSING. I am talking about spells which do NOT use spirits. πŸ˜‰

PS- Get excited everyone, I’m doing a series in April called Reconciliation 101. Its going to kick the ass of all recon spell how-to’s in existance.

PPS- If you email me and ask me if this post is about you or imply you feel its about you, even though its not, I’m just going to say “You know what? It is about you. Everything I write is about you. Hell, I’m staring at you right now through my secret camera, because you’re all I think about.” If that doesn’t creep you out enough to stop emailing me, then I will just tell you not to email me anymore. No disrespect or anything, but I’m not writing about anyone in particular. If you’ve ever ticked me off, you know very well that I will tell you how I feel about you and what I think your issues are. If you’ve ever behaved badly, you also know that I will just spit out that you need to work on x or y issue, and I will say it directly to you. πŸ™‚

  • Hello my occulties!

Its that time again! I felt we were due for a QYAM article, especially since I’ve been getting lots and lots and lots of questions. πŸ™‚ So without further ado…

Q: Why is Saint Martha black and holding a snake in one picture of her, then she’s olive-skinned in another picture of her, and then I’ve also seen her pasty-white with blue eyes, and (1000 other descriptions here,) – so are these different people?

A: Basically speaking St Martha is always stepping on, holding, or near some form of serpent or dragon in depictions of her, which is probably the only constant (even then, on the rare occaision she’s not with a serpent/dragon.) I’ve also seen her depicted in every fleshtone of the human rainbow. I’ve seen her depicted with brown, green, black, and blue eyes. She has been portrayed with hair-covered, or with just about every color of hair humans can have naturally. While she generally wears a green and red dress, a red dress with gold trim, or a green dress with gold trim, I’ve also seen her depicted in a purple dress, and a blue dress. Despite the myriad of appearances, all of them are St Martha, and I don’t mean the lady was a virtual human chameleon in life. πŸ˜‰

You see, St Martha has been dead for almost 2000 years. Its unfortunate, but we have no contemporary descriptions of her actual appearance (at least that I know of) so we can’t be entirely accurate in depictions of her. Were I to take a guess, seeing as in life she was a Middle Eastern Jewish woman, she probably looked a dark olive color (like people who are native to that region today,) and likely had dark brown or black hair. There was some travel and trade during that time, so she may have had some European or African traits.IMG_1377

Why you see St Martha depicted differently is that often Saints who’s appearance is lost to us are depicted in a manner which would be most similar and/or appealing to the people who wish to petition her while also often containing some symbology/iconography which is relative to the saint. While I’d also say that certain color robes and particular depictions of her work better for petitioning her dominator aspect (for me at the least,) that does not mean that depiction is any more or less an accurate portrayal of Martha as the next. We do not know what she looks like. The representation is meant more to give you a meaningful symbolic image, iconography… Basically if I say to you “who is that?” and I point to a picture of Saint Martha, you might say “That’s Saint Martha,” but neither of us believe she is actually the picture, rather it is a representation of a being rather than the actual being. If you are to worship a picture rather than use it for symbolic meaning, that technically would be idolatry, which brings up a whole lotta Protestant arguments hurled centuries ago (and often to this day) against Catholics. πŸ˜‰ However, the argument is that the image is not being worshipped but rather used as a focus point to give praise and honor to the spirit of a person who is blessed/sanctified. Hopefully this helps and doesn’t confuse you more.

Q: Do I dispose of the glass chimney/seven-day-candle jar with my ritual remains, or can I throw this out seperately?

A: In reference to all the spells here, unless I say otherwise, you can just put the chimney in the trash. You may also reuse the chimney for a pullout candle (they make them to fit the chimney) but I recommend if you do so that you use it for the same aim as the first candle you burned in there. If you totally want to preserve those glass tubes forever and get pull outs to put in them for the rest of your life, then just be sure to clean them thoroughly after each use (as in a cleaning off of magical energy – pre-emptively, I’ve gone over that in here, so please do not ask how because I’ve said already.) πŸ˜‰

Q: Recently, I was reading that not all people who cast spells are also psychic. Doesn’t magic ability go hand in hand with psychic ability?

A: Definitely not! πŸ˜‰ Amusingly enough, for some reason, a psychic who does not cast spells and has never attempted to use spellcraft is not an “odd duck” to people, but when the reverse is true – a spellcaster with no interest in trying to be psychic and who professes no psychic ability, people find this “weird.”

Echinacea 2 Psychicism and spellcraft are not related talents. Perhaps they often “ride together” in people insofar as natural predispositions and talents go, but this is not always so. Furthermore, there are different types of psychicism, and a vertiable smorgasboard of magical talents, too. While some people are outstanding with love spellcraft, others are amazing with banishing, or healing, or money spellcraft. Similarly, while someone may be an ace at using divinatory tools like astrology or tarot, that person may not be any good with psychic seeing (clairvoyance,) intuition, clairsentience (psychic empathy, psychic “feeling,”) or clairaudience (psychic hearing.) Just assuming all psychics are spellcasters and all spellcasters are psychic is a wrong assumption.

I actually know quite a few psychics who would claim no magical ability and have no interest in the spellcasting arts, and can name 3 spellcasters off of the top of my head who feel their psychic abilities are inadequate enough not to offer such services. My personal feeling on it is that we should accept people are just being honest in saying they have never chosen to persue one talent even though they had a natural ability in the other, rather than to think they are in some way inadequate as a reader or spellcaster because they offer one service and not the other.

Q: What do you mean when you say “My parents didn’t name me ‘Google’?”

A: I mean that if you ask me to point you to a specific spell in my blog for you to use, or to find you a specific spell, I will kindly point you to the “catagories” of this blog. It means, basically, if you want me to act as your search engine, I’m afraid I won’t do it. You need to do your own research. I am here for clarification, and to write you up new spells and articles instructing you on the practice and use of spells – not to act as a search engine for my own blog or for any other site. πŸ˜‰

Q: My love-rival frequently antagonizes me, despite the fact that I am doing break up spellwork on him/her, and reconcilation spellwork on the person we are both emotionally invested in. What do I do?

A: If anyone is harrassing you, first you must contact the police to get them to quit harrassing you – that is assuming they are giving unwanted telephone calls, visits, or in some way antagonizing/threating you publicly. If the person is just talking a lot of trash about you behind your back, I recommend you spellcast to stop gossip, and to also turn their words against them (you may try a spell in this blog which I believe is titled “returning trouble to the troublemaker.”)

On the mundane end of things, if you’ve contacted police, and done – spellworkwise – what you can to minimize their antagonism, the next move is to stop reacting. Yep, I said stop reacting. That’s right, stop reacting. I don’t mean let the person come to your house and threaten you (that is when you call police to remove them for illegally threatening you,) I mean…stop giving them what they want, which is an emotional reaction from you. Do not ever engage in fighting with them, and do not show them that their bad and ridiculous and juvenile behavior in any way bothers you. Why? Because they are being a bully for the sake of the reaction. πŸ˜‰ So, you’re gonna show them that they are ineffective…and maybe they will get arrested…and maybe also your reconciliation target will get to see what a complete nut job your rival is, while you’re calm, cool, collected (and er, blameless, considering you’re not acting like the nut job you’re rival is acting like.)

Personally speaking, if you have a reconcilation/love target who has to screw more than one person at once or who has to run around behind your back, I’d say just leave. Cheaters aren’t worth the drama…but you’re going to do what you want to do, so…I’m sure that I said that won’t have any impact on you seeking the love (or the return of the love) from the cheater.

Q: Sometimes you say in your blog to place/inter ritual remains in a specific spot, and then walk away without looking back. Does this mean I can never look there again?

A: No, it definitely does not mean that. Goodness, I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: If I could never look in a spot I interred or disposed of ritual remains in, I’d have to put both of my eyes out of my head or at least blindfold myself. πŸ˜‰IMG_0679

What I mean when I say that is that you must walk away without looking back at that moment. This shows that you do not cast doubt (look back) on the work…its like walking off with a purpose, without looking behind you as you go. After the remains have been disposed of, if you just so happen to be going through the area and look in that spot like an hour later, this is not going to negatively effect the work.

Q: Do roots and herbs go bad? Like, if I have a bag of rose petals or a bag of say …high john roots, do those go bad after a specific amount of time?

A: Yes and no. My personal feelings on this is that an older dried herb may lose some of its power if its very old. If you’ve ever had an herbal tea, for example, you’ll notice some of the flavor and potency become less when they are exposed to air for a certain length of time. Its still “tasteable” (is that even a freaking word?) but not as potent as it once was. I feel to some degree this is also true of herbs and roots we use for spellcraft. So…if its older than 18 months or its just very old, then you may find its MILDLY less potent. I have found MOST PEOPLE do not notice this because it is so mild. So…I would not worry so very much that its an issue. Your best bet here is to keep your herbs in sealable airtight containers (zipper bags, or even airtight cannisters,) and to also be sure that you buy the amount of herb you need for your purposes. Whereas I frequently spellcast and rarely purchase less than four ounces of an herb at a time, your basic person who spellcasts for themselves would probably require less for their purposes.

Now, what IS a problem is mold and mildew. I had recently told someone of how I’d bought something like a ten or five pound bag of rose petals. Anyhow, this bag had come with a double order or something. Like, I mistakenly got a free gi-norm-ass bag of rose petals. πŸ˜‰ Well, I had opened a small part of it, and then it sat for maybe a year…by a window. Guess what? Even though no visible moisture had gotten into this bag, it wasn’t properly sealed and the center of the roses was filled with (ew) black mildew. I had to toss it out. In those cases, the herb does spoil.

So…think of it similarly to potency issues of edible/consumable herbs (many herbs become less potent over time when exposed naturally to air and other environments, some faster than others,) and also that you need to take care to store the herbs in a cool dry place to avoid mildew or mold. If you do find mildew, mold, parasites or anything similar in your herbs, you need to throw out those herbs.

Alrightey folks, that’s it for this edition of Questions You’ve Asked Me! Keep those good questions coming, and if you’re new to “Questions You’ve Asked Me” please check out the whole catagory!!!

  • Hello my dearies,

While I do realize not all practitioners are the same, not all rootworkers are the same, and not all of the same things will drive us batsh*t crazy, this has been coming for a long time. Why? Because its not only my problem, I hear the same complaints from friends who are in the spellworker-for-hire biz, so…to enlighten you, this is how to make yourself a persona non-gratis, how to be the figurative wart on the behind of your practitioner, how to become a sucky time-wasting horror-story….because if you know HOW to be that person, maybe you can avoid being that person.

Before I begin, please keep in mind, EVERYONE will exhibit one or more of these behaviors on an off day. If its like one single day ever, and you’re not always this way, you’re probably still okay in the eyes of your practitioner.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #1: Whine constantly! Allow me to give you an example…imagine if you will, that you are my professional spellcaster, and you are helping me on a love/recon issue, and every day (sometimes more than once a day,) I send you an email a little bit like this: “OMG, Rootworker, I am so sad today. I had such a bad day! I mean, first I fought with recon-target even though you told me not to, and then I got really mad, and I set all of his stuff on fire and danced around it in a vacant lot. You know, sometimes that s*** makes me feel better. I guess it didn’t this time, right? Cuz then I got really plastered wasted drunk and stuff, and I called recon-target crying. Well, I took a nap since then, so I’m not drunk anymore, but now I feel really sick and sad, and I know I was bad, and why didn’t you tell me that this would happen? Its been like a whole effing week since you cast that spell for me and everything should be perfect and wonderful now, and I’m so mad and angry and I don’t know what to do…everything makes me sad. You know that filet-of-fish commercial with the singing fish? Recon-target used to love that song so much, and that commercial came on, and I couldn’t help it! My life is over! I’m so sad, I was crying and crying, and I know you said not to fight with him or do bad stuff, but its your fault I’m upset, and I’m only human so I make mistakes! You know that!”SPWhine-2

Okay, for those of you thinking that’s an exaggeration? No, I’ve seen shniz like that before. More than once. However, that’s more like…a bad person. Let me give you the average whining-constantly client…who isn’t bad in the sense they can’t follow directions, but is just a miserable person… Now, I will be the client, and you be the rootworker, so my communicae goes like this, “OMG, rootworker, how much longer til I am happy? I know sometimes things go bad a little bit before they get good, but now I’m sad so I doubt that. I’m having such a bad day. I mean, I saw recon-target today, and he didn’t smile at me! He was in his car and I was walking. Is it normal for it to take this long? Because I think like 10 days is long enough. What is wrong with him? Is it me? Is this never going to work because I was so horrible?”

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. And why? Because if I see this ONCE maybe TWICE, I think, “Hey, someone had a bad day.” But usually someone who writes this does this at least twice a week. Sometimes more. So…that really drives practitioners crazy and why? Guess what, it isn’t your practitioner’s job to be a free cheerleader. Sure, we all go through whiney and bitchy times in our lives (yours truly totally included,) but to do this so often is ridiculous. Its draining. Its awful to deal with. It also isn’t any practitioner’s job to be your therapist or cheerleader.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #2: Imply that you deserve free psychic readings or free spells! Now, one of my least favorite things on the planet has to be people who have a false sense of entitlement. Guess what, if a service costs money at a business, then everyone has to pay for that service. Its the same everywhere for everyone. Case in point, let’s say I get my car fixed, and I need something very simple like brake pads put in…just a maintnance thing, right? What if, while I’m there, I say, “Oh, and rotate those tires for free for me since that’s no big deal, right?” Well, the guy fixing my car would laugh right in my face, and he should. πŸ˜‰ Everyone deserves compensation for their work.

So, how is it any different when someone says: “Rootworker, please tell me what you see coming for me on this situation, because I need your psychic insight.” Uh…yeah, okay, then you can schedule a reading with that rootworker and pay for it like everyone else. Or, the other side of that coin is “Rootworker, I know I effed up my spell doing this, so just redo it.” Um, okay, then you can pay for the supplies for the rootworker to redo your spell…and I guarantee no one will spot you a freebie if you imply you deserve one. πŸ˜‰ Sometimes, if you’re awesome and not high-maintnance, someone WILL give you a freebie. Treasure it. Love it. Appreciate it. Don’t expect it.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #3: Act like their life revolves around you! While this may utterly shock some of you, guess what?! Just about every single practitioner that I’ve ever met – whether or not they serve the public, has a life outside of spellcasting. Seriously. Yep, seriously. Totally serious here.

The really exciting and mind-warping thing about that? All of those people actually sleep sometimes, and they get sick sometimes, and sometimes they even have a bad day or have a personal emergency, or even things as basic as electrical problems. I know, I know, how can these amazing beings ever have normal-people-problems, right? I mean if you’re the spellcasting master, how is that possible?

IMG_0729 Its possible because they are human beings. Guess what? When I wiggle my nose, a new house, a paid electric bill, a dinner cooked by unseen spirits, or even a million bucks does not fall out of a vortex in the ceiling into my lap. Crazy, huh? Apparently since I was born a human being, I am vulnerable to all the same things that other human beings are vulnerable to. This (believe it or not,) is true of every single practitioner, rootworker, holy person, or whathaveyou. Everyone has human weaknesses. Yeah, I know, its totally shocking, huh? Spellcasters DO have bad relationships sometimes, they do catch virulent illnesses, they do barf after eating food that has gone bad, they do often have families who they need to help or comfort or serve food to or change the diapers of or worry about the health and education of, and they even occaisionally have money problems, or even sometimes bad things like floods and tornadoes hit their homes. Yeah, who ever realized that spellcasters are people, too? Shocking, huh?

So, if they have a life outside of spellcasting, and problems that happen to them even when they are spellworking, then what does that mean?

It means, don’t be shocked if you sent an email or gave a call off-hours and don’t recieve an immediate response. It means, don’t get angry, frustrated, or freaked out if someone can’t be there at your beck and call immediately. It means, recognize you are probably one of many clients. As long as you understand that your practitioner’s life does not revolve around you, that he or she is human and therefore does likely have both a life and interests outside of work may sometimes mean he or she takes his or her free moments to enjoy their loved ones, or their hobbies, and that’s not a personal statement about you, and that as long as you are patient and understanding that just like all human beings, your practitioner is a complicated being with needs, wants, loved ones, and human weaknesses, that you will get along with your pracitioner just fine. Those of you who just think we sit at an altar every moment we’re not on the phone or writing an email, and that nothing bad ever happens to us? You’ll be disappointed. Sorry, even practitioners have problems and like things other than spellcraft. πŸ˜‰

Way to drive your practitioner insane #4: Be rude! I personally don’t deal with rude people, but I know those that do. If you really want to be a jerk, why don’t you go find a rock somewhere and crawl back under it where you belong? Just a thought. πŸ˜‰

Way to drive your practitioner insane #5: WRITE IN ALL CAPITALS, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A DEMAND and not a request! Okay, when you write in ALL CAPITALS this is YELLING. If you YELL at me, even if in type, I will tell you TO GO EFF YOURSELF AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!! And, if you get really creative and decide THIS IS HOW TO MAKE A DEMAND since you obviously don’t realize you need to make a request of someone unless you presume this person is your slave, then…well, that’s really just showing you’re a rude and sh*tty person right there. Please see number four. I’m more of a total all-capitals-Nazi, but really, I’ve heard others agree with me on this one.

See, this just shows you have no manners, are socially-inept, and this is likely why you have so many problems that you’ve decided spells are your only salvation. Listen, behavioral therapy, and some social skills are your only salvation. Get the therapy, learn those skills, and then watch your life improve.

Remember when you were little and your mom said “You need to say ‘please,’ and ‘thank you,’” and you got denied what you wanted til you learned that? Remember the “yes, please,” and “no, thank you,” and even having to say MAY I, instead of CAN I? (If you had my mom, you said may I have this, not can I have it, unless you never wanted it.) πŸ˜‰ Well these were valuable things your mother taught you because having manners and being polite really really helps when you’re trying to make a request of someone. Just sayin’.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #6: Contact them frequently for no good reason! I really like most of the people who’ve contacted me…then there are the ones who ask me totally random stuff, or update me about nothing. My practitioner friends seem to also resent this… Allow me to give an example:

Update about nothing: “Hey rootworker, I just came to tell you nothing happened today. Anyhow, I thought about it and its okay nothing happened today since its only been a day now.” Really. Fabu. Wonderberry. Awesome. Why are you telling me about nothing? I mean…yay? Seriously, if a day has passed since a spell was cast, generally nothing has happened.Fiesta tea rose

Or…there’s this: “Dear Rootworker, I wanted to ask you, even though it has nothing to do with what I’m working with you on – do you think I should have tacos or pizza for dinner?” Really? What do I think you should eat? Does that matter? Really… in the scheme of things, does it matter?

While its not unheard of to get into some sort of conversation unrelated to the issue you and your pracititioner are working on, sometimes its best not to just blurt out everything that crosses your mind. For real.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #7: Ask their advice so you can tell them that they are wrong! Some people seem to think I say this because I’m offended you don’t agree with me. No, I don’t care if you don’t agree with me. No one really cares if you don’t agree with them…well, maybe a few people, but let’s just be honest with ourselves…if you never came to me asking my opinion, I’d never have offered it. If you don’t like my opinion, then the normal-person thing to do is to say “I see, thank you for your time,” and seek a second opinion. There is no need to try to argue me or argue to anyone else that they must see it the way you do. I mean, you asked what their thought on the matter was – you didn’t tell them to think how you do, you ASKED THEM WHAT THEIR OPINION WAS on the matter. Get it?

Furthermore, when you write me and tell me explicitly what you believe the problem you’re having is, there is a chance I might not agree. If you can’t deal with me not agreeing with you and saying as much, perhaps you should begin with “Hey, I know I’m right about this, so if you don’t agree with what I have to say, just don’t reply.” You won’t hear from me even if I agree. πŸ˜‰

Way to drive your practitioner insane #8: Act crazy and threaten people and yourself constantly! This seems to surprise a few people, but if thinly-veiled or not-at-all-veiled threats of greivous bodily harm to yourself or another is actually something that I am legally obligated to report to the authorities. For example, “If he doesn’t answer my call, I’m driving over to his house and killing him, because I’ve had enough,” is a pretty serious threat. Or…if you say “Well, I’m about ready to kill myself,” that is also a serious threat. Saying these things makes it so we can’t work for you. The best one I ever heard was a woman outright threatened suicide, no questions asked. She was like “I’m so sick of this waiting and pain, I just want to kill myself.” Of course I was like “You need immediate psychological attention, I may need to call the police to ensure you don’t harm yourself,” etc, etc. She comes back 2 days later and tells me she saw a psychologist and he said everything she’d said was totally normal and healthy. Anyone else smell bullsh*t? Yeah, I thought so. Its bad enough you threaten suicide, but then tell a bad lie to cover it up? Really, I’m not stupid, and neither are you.

If you are suicidal, homicidal, or seeking to harm yourself or others, you need to get emergency psychiatric help. Plus its really creepy, and I might get a restraining order. I take threats against me very seriously, threats against others seriously, and threats against yourself seriously. Guess what? Any good practitioner will take those threats seriously, and they will contact the police to get you some mental help that you so desperately and obviously need.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #9: Talk graphically about your sex life! Guess what? No one wants to know about the mole so-and-so has on his ballsac. No one wants to know about what gets you off. One lady once told me “Its okay, I have a vibrator.” You know what? Gross, I don’t want to know. If you have one, then keep that thought to yourself. I don’t want to know you diddled yourself. I don’t want to know about the oral sex. I don’t want to know where he put what. I don’t really want to know about any of it. Guess what else? Everyone I’ve ever met who’s a practitioner would like you to remember to hold back. Just hold back that description. Please.

Its okay to say “Hey, we had sex,” or “Oh, we made out,” but past that? Its your business, and none of us want to know.

Related, but not the same… We don’t want to know about your barf, your poop, how your pee smelled, how anything smelled (bodily anythings,) or other such intimate details that are…just….gross. Got a mole on your whatever? Good for you, keep that to yourself. If I wanted to know, I’d seduce you to find out. :X I don’t care how big anyone’s peepee is or how anyone’s vagoo is. The people who’s private areas matter to me would be my own private areas and those of my guy. Since you are not us, keep your bodily functions, moles, private parts, tits, ass, penis, manboobs, vagoo, ejaculatory consistincies, birth marks, hot spots, g-spots and everthing else to yourself. Thanks.

Way to drive your practitioner insane #10: Rationalize your bad behaviors with “I couldn’t help myself,” or “I’m human, I make mistakes,” or etc. First of all, I only believe you can’t help yourself or stop yourself from doing something if you are literally being held hostage, your life is in danger, and someone is holding a gun to your head. Oh, also, if you’re tied up and somehow physically being made incapble of action, then obviously the situation is out of your hands. Otherwise? Its your fault. Sorry, it is. Accept that, and you will someday become capable of learning from your mistakes and not repeating them.

I realize people make mistakes…. I don’t hate people for making mistakes. I think its a bit absurd to willfully and knowingly eff up, and then blame it on human weakness (no, I don’t agree there,) but I do understand that sometimes due to ignorance or severe mental incapacity, we all eff up. In saying that, if you’re still effing up because you’re so emotionally distraught, you are in no place to start getting spellwork. You need to calm down and be rational. If you aren’t rational or you’re making bad mistakes due to emotional distress…then you need a psychotherapist and not a psychic or spellcaster. πŸ™‚

This is not an all-inclusive list, but I hope it has been educational all the same. πŸ™‚

Comment Submission Guidelines, and A Quick Note Before You Email Me.

  • While the vast majority of people who contact me are reasonable and wonderful people, unfortunately the “bad ones” stand out so boldly in my mind, that, in the hopes of those people contacting me less, I have been moved to write this page.

As I’ve stated frequently on this blog, my name is not Google. Its also not Yahoo! or MSN search, or any sort of search engine name. Furthermore, I am not your free occult-search-engine. I might consider being your paid occult search engine, but an hour of my time costs a lot of money, so I don’t know as you’d like that. πŸ˜‰ I am willing to answer reasonable questions, and clarify my own instructions for free, just unwilling to act as a free spell/occult search engine.

While I realize I come up in a search when you hit cetain search terms, and therefore you may be new to my blog, I ask that you first read the comments attatched to the article before asking me a question that may be answered there, and if that doesn’t fit your request, that you try to navigate the catagories here to see if your question is answered there. If its a question on name papers, disposal of spell remains, or even “what’s wrong with the spell I’m casting because its not manifesting” that is often answered in the Questions You’ve Asked Me catagory.

    Questions You’ve Asked Me

I really appreciate when people take the time to see if they can answer their own questions by looking through the giant amount of free information I give you on this site.

Also, this is my blog. I live in New Hampshire. I do not run an occult store. So, if you have questions for someone who runs an occult store in California who’s also called by the nickname of Cat, this isn’t the place to locate that person.

    Thank you!

  • Hey everyone,

As many of you already know, I moved my site to a new host over the weekend. The site is mostly up and running (yes there are parts that say coming soon,) and the emails are working fine.

As many of you also already know all last week I had to fight the nastiness that is a trojan horse (that actually took all of like an hour or two once I figured out something bad happened) and the subsequent fall out from the free webmail companies who made me have to personally contact all of them, fill out lengthy forms, and write several times over to tell them my IP address and email are okay now until they gave me clearance to email you again. πŸ˜‰ So…what took a day to fix in my ‘puter took 3-4 days to fix everywhere else. This means I had to catch up on about 4 days’ work on Thursday night, Friday, Friday night, and then I was setting up the site on its new host all Saturday and much of today. Basically I’ve been working non-stop on my days off (Saturday and Sunday,) to try to catch up. If you’re waiting for a response a bit longer than usual, please understand I am but one rootworker against a gigantic sea of emails who has been fighting Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo for to be able to email you back, ON TOP OF fixing my PC, and as well as setting up a site, and casting several spells…that’s a lot of work for a short little redheaded elf lady to do. πŸ˜‰

Now, if you like your friend Cat, you will be nice to me and not get on my case because you’ve had to wait longer than normal to hear back from me. If you want to be super awesome, you’re actually going to wait til Tuesday morning before you get nervous I didn’t get your email.

If you don’t like me, you’re going to send me 18 copies each of the last 243 emails you’ve sent me over the course of 5 months, including several I replied to already, JUST IN CASE I didn’t get them. :O Yes, some people are that bad, and no, I’m not exaggerating.

As for my readers, I’m VERY sorry about my lameness in regards to posting new on-topic articles, but now that I’m almost done updating my site, and I’ve gotten at least half-way through the giant sea of emails, you can expect some new articles up soon.

  • Hey Occulties,

I would like to sincerely thank all my readers and clients for a complete lack of Valentine’s Day induced hysterics! While I never understood why the melodramatic feel that February 14 is the best possible day ever for them to have an excuse to make themselves hysterical, apparently for some people that sort of thing is just what they like to do. Well, thank goodness, if any of you engaged in that sort of thing, you didn’t tell me about it, and I think everyone made it through fine. Awesome. I love you guys. πŸ˜€

  • All comments on this blog are moderated. Please take a quick glance at these guidelines to ensure your comment gets published! πŸ™‚

    1. I do NOT get any notice in my inbox when you post a comment. Sometimes comments will remain unpublished for a few days due to this, as I must log in to my blog, see someone left a comment, and then publish it. Please DO NOT use the comments section in place of regular email. If you wish to contact me privately, please click the “Email Me” link under the picture of myself in the left hand top corner of this blog. If its important, personal, or some sort of urgent message, you should EMAIL ME instead.

    2. Comments written in ALL CAPITALS will be ignored and deleted without being read. People who WRITE IN ALL CAPITALS must realize this is very rude nettiquette, and that their actions read as YELLING AT THE PERSON THEY ARE COMMENTING TO.

    3. Comments MUST somehow relate to the article they are left on. For example, if I’m discussing something off topic like…oh, Kurt Vonnegut passing away, and you decide to post a note there about how much you miss your ex and want him/her back, your comment will be deleted. If you leave a question asking for clarifacation on what exactly I meant when wrapping a package with red thread, and its on a spell where I’m saying you must wrap a packet up in red thread…well, obviously that’s on topic. πŸ˜‰

    4. Comments which are abusive or rude with no reason will be deleted without being read. For example, if you comment (off topic I might add,) that you think I’m an awful stanky bitch-face on an article regarding how to move nasty neighbors out, I will delete the comment.

Criticism is welcome, so long as it pertains to the article which you are commenting on, and so long as its not just insulting me for the fun of insulting me with no reasoning other than just you wanted to call me bad words. πŸ˜‰

    5. Any sort of comment which is a demand for help (not a request) and which obviously shows the mental instability of the commenter (an example would be a week or so before I wrote this, someone commented “I NEED MY EX BACK NOW AND YOU MUST GET HIM BACK EVEN THOUGH HE’S A JERK AND I NEED HIM TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT. GET HIM BACK NOW I NEED HIM IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!”) will be deleted and commenter blocked. Usually these comments are placed on unrelated-to-their-topic posts and in all capitals anyhow, so this would already determine that I will not post them as is.

    6. Your email remains invisible to anyone but me, so it is up to you as to whether or not you choose to leave a valid email.* I do not share, sell, or in anyway divulge your personal email to anyone. *In the case of critical comments, see number 10 on this page.

    7. The name you leave is going to be visible to others. I may delete the last name or leave an initial for the last name in these cases, as people in the past have been concerned about coming up through Google and being traced to a spell site.

    8. My parents did not name me Google, nor am I a search engine for my blog or for any site whatsoever. If your comment is to tell me that I must find a spell for you within this behemoth of information, then I will delete your comment and ignore your request. I expect the minimal kindness from my readers that they navigate my site for themselves. If you request a certain type of spell, you may receive an email with a link to catagories under which that spell would fall. πŸ˜‰

I also do NOT give substitutions for any ingredient you don’t have, or spell you can’t do. I DO NOT LOCATE INGREDIENTS OR RITUAL ITEMS FOR YOU TO PURCHASE FOR YOUR SPELLWORK
. If you never learn how to do anything for yourself as easy as locate an ingredient (and it’s not so hard,) or find out how to get an image of someone (ridiculously easy in this day and age,) then I really shouldn’t encourage you to spellcast for yourself by handing you the easiest answers there are.

    9. There are such things as STUPID QUESTIONS! Pointedly asking me questions that an average six year old knows the answer to (and not a spellcastin’ six year old, I mean any kid aged six of average or better intelligence,) will not be posted in the comments section. If you really don’t know what a candle is, or how long a week of time is, you’re not smart enough to be working spells anyhow.

    10. Critical comments must contain a valid email. If you have something valuable and critical to say, by all means, say it. I won’t be angry with you if it’s said with intelligence and has a point. However, if you’re too cowardly to even submit an email that only I will see (I won’t out your email to others,) then don’t expect me to publish I comment I can’t verify which is probably just coming from a jealous practitioner for all I know.

  • Always beware of the newbie-counsellor. I see this problem WAY TOO MUCH. Basically speaking, a person who has been studying spellcraft for less than a year (often less than six months, and even less than 2 months,) decides he or she is now capable of instructing others, having cast like…oh, 4 spells or something. πŸ˜‰ Unfortunately some of these folks come of as authortative when they speak or write, and even more unfortunately, while their intentions are good, what they may be doing is actually MISINFORMING others, or MISINSTRUCTING others due to being relatively ignorant about spellcraft. πŸ˜› So, if you have reason to question the length of time someone has been practicing or studying even though that person is trying to instruct you, you should probably get a second opinion (before you hurt yourself or others by mistake.) πŸ˜‰

As for “Newbies” who give their advice. While what you are doing is well-meant, keep in mind that you are still a beginner. While your input could be very helpful, when you speak authoritatively, others who are just as newbish as yourself will find themselves thinking you are far more experienced than you are – which could be problematic if you misinstruct them or leave something important out, therefore possibly creating a larger mess. Instead of offering help like you’re an authority on a topic you just got introduced to, you might say “Hey, I’m just starting out, but a little more experienced than you are, and…” then adding your advice.

Why do I ask you to do this? I’m tired of cleaning up messes made by well-intentioned newbs who, not even yet practicing spellcraft for six months, have mislead others (without meaning to,) and when these others were sent to me when problems arose (there is actually more than one of you, but a particular one person in this case,) these persons were quite vexed to realize the person who had initially instructed them started learning spellcraft this fall. :S

Personally, I’d say give yourself a year of practice at least before you think yourself ready to advise anyone. Its fine to be a newb (ie a newbie,) but its wholly different to be a NOOB which no one likes (a “noob” being the people who think they mastered spellcraft because they read a book once and cast a spell before.)

So, if someone on a message board is giving you advice, do try to keep in mind that this person could be just as green with spellcraft as you are. I’ve been practicing spellcraft for over 2 decades, and as memory serves, when I first started out, I was better than some of the newbies out there now, (and probably not as good as some newbs of today,) and still, I’d not have told myself to advise anyone (of course being a child at the time I started probably would have thankfully made others not listen to a freaking word come out of my mouth on the topic, hahahaha.)

****UPDATED TO ADD: A few of you wanted to know what specifically was the cause of this post. πŸ˜‰ Apart from the fact that I really think it makes an ass out of someone who has practically no experience with spellcasting (sorry, casting a few spells doesn’t make you uber experienced) to give out advice like an old pro… What happened was that someone got the brilliant idea to start giving out advice on how to raise spirits (of an infernal type,) when they had never raised a spirit (they claimed a singular Intranquil Spirit spell as “experience,”) and commenced to give the WORST advice on raising (very infernal) spirits I have ever had the misfortune to read. More or less, they wholly forgot to mention the dismissal of the spirit…so, the advised someone to open a portal, and let all sorts of bad things in, and never ever mentioned closing that door or asking the spirit(s) which entered to go back from whence they came. Soooo…someone came to your old friend Cat and was like “This person claims to know you and says you’d have an idea of how to make this spirit stop attacking me and growling at me,” and I was like “Who said this to you? Oh dear, that person cast their first spell in November – I know this because I helped them with it.” So…yep, that’s the background there.

Pearl of Wisdom Summarized: Beware of random people giving advice because they may not know enough to advise you…and if you’re a newbie, think twice before you give your advice.
