Cat’s Rants: Confessions of an Occult Mastermind

  • Hey Occulties,

Holy Mars-retrograde, kids – my most common requests presently are for revenge, moving bad people away, and protection spells… Well, I’m gonna get a protection spells post up soon, but today let’s examine using spellcraft to get unwanted neighbors and vistors to leave you alone. πŸ™‚

I’ve gone over this in here before, but one common recipie for getting jerks to move away or vacate a certain place is Hot Foot powder. This is very easily made with equal parts kosher salt, sulphur, and cayenne, which is its basic recipie. There are “meaner” ways of making this (for example the addition of rust, among other ingredients,) but just the three ingredients I’d mentioned are all you NEED.

Now, people don’t seem too confused on the making of Hot Foot powder, but how in the eff it is properly used seems to sort of baffle some people, so let’s go over a few easy ways you might employ this powder to get someone to move out:

1.) Sprinkled beneath dust mat outside of target’s front door – using nine “sprinkles,” sprinkle the powder in an equal armed X shape while saying “(Name of Target) leave this property forever!” (or something similar,) nine times. If your target is an entire family use the family name instead of the individual names of the targets – for example, “Smith family, leave this property immediately!” or “John Q Smith and family, move from this property immediately!”

2.) Sprinkled where the target(s) will walk over it (ie in the target’s path.) To do this, one should make “wavy lines” (I personally just more or less spinkle the powder and it makes wavy-ish lines,) in an odd number in a spot where the target must walk – a common place for this is actually in front of the driver’s side of the wouldbe-target’s car – and say the command 9 times (ie “John Q Smith, move far from this place immediately,” etc.)

3.) Dusted lightly on an area the target will touch. This is generally sprinkled on door knobs, handles, or other surfaces you can reasonably assume the target must come in contact with, and as you sprinkle it, of course, say the command, for example “John Q Smith, leave this place immediately!”

Another “Get the hell away from me” recipie that is both common and useful is Four Theives Vinegar, which is generally red wine vinegar (about the size of the vinegar jar you buy is fine,) 3 or so garlic cloves mashed up…and here is where recipies differ. I know some people use salt, peppercorns, etc… My personal recipie (or at least that passed down to me,) is red wine vinegar, about 3 garlic cloves mashed up, and then some rosemary, sage, and optional, but good, some rue. People get very hung up on the “how much do I add,” thing…while I actually don’t use a measure, it looks like about 2 tbsp of each herb.

2 ways to use Four Theives:

1.) Wash down your front doorstep with this mixture if you don’t want company. One word of advice, though, it smells like salad dressing, so if you don’t want your porch to smell like a pasta salad for a little bit, then this might not be what you’re looking for.

2.) Write your target’s name on a slip of paper, place this into a small vial, fill with four theives vinegar and throw into a river to make your enemy leave you be. Generally, you say the command while you fill the vial with vinegar, (for example, “John Q Smith, move far far away from this place now,” and sometimes cussing is added, so for example “John Q Smith, you horrible jackass, get the f*** out of this place, and move far far away forever!”) and then when you throw the vial into the river, you also call the command out after it.

I have also known people to burn a hot foot candle (get a seven day red candle, poke 5 holes into the top part where the wax is exposed, and then pour a few drops of hot foot oil – mineral oil + hot foot powder ingredients – into the holes) on a name paper made out with the target’s name written nine times (check the Questions You’ve Asked Me Archives for how to write out a name paper,) with the command “Move away now,” written across their name, and have taken the name paper, placed this in a jar/bottle and filled with four theives vinegar, which is then thrown into moving water like a river. πŸ™‚ Wow, that was one loooong run on sentence for you to ingest.

I hope this has been educational! πŸ™‚ Protection spells coming up soon!

  • Hey Occulties,

Occaisionally I get some pretty funny email (whether or not that is the intention behind it,) so without further ado, a reader had asked me this:

Q: Dear Cat, have you ever been in outerspace? I am pretty sure you haven’t, but I wondered – would spells still work if you cast them while in outerspace? Thank you in advance.

A: I don’t even like flying in airplanes, so I don’t want to know what sort of anti-anxiety meds I’d require for a trip out past the safety of the Earth’s atmosphere…and also, I don’t have the science degrees or flight experience required to be an astronaut. It sounds as though you had gotten that it was pretty unlikely that NASA had tried to jettison a rootworker into space just yet. πŸ˜‰

800px-Messier51 However, what the Almighty did provide me with is a good brain for hypothetical situations. I am just taking an educated guess here, but I would say, yes, it is possible to successfully spellcast while in outer space (assuming you are in a place where you can breathe oxygen, and also where other things requiring oxygen to work, such as flame, can be allowed the amount of needed air to work.) Now, on that note, I’m no astronaut, but I’m going to presume that lighting candles on a space station in zero gravity is a really bad, really dangerous idea. I am not really sure a flaming stick of wax is the sort of thing one wants floating around in an environment where even the oxygen must be supplied, so we might say that, for safety reasons, candle magic would not be well-advised while in the types of environments humans can survive in while outside of the Earth’s atmosphere. I suspect making charms, would work… Um, taking ritual baths would probably be very very difficult. I mean, you would have to make the “tea” out of the herb, and then find a method of getting it into the shower hose. I have heard astronauts also do not exactly shower in water (?) so maybe its impossible? BUT all of that aside, other than environmental dangers and certain implausibilities of using specific types of spellcraft due to how things are set up on space shuttles and space stations, I do feel the magical energy itself could be used, and would not suffer simply because the person casting the spell was not within the Earth’s boundaries. Hoodoo probably would not be superb for space stations…maybe in that case you’d be better advised to use Psionics, which is a paradigm that depends more on the will of the spellcaster than on his or her materials.

Special thanks to the reader who was a good sport, and was not offended by me asking to post this as an “Instant Classic.” πŸ˜€

  • Hey everyone,

The comments section IS NOT a way to email me. I get no notice in any emailbox that you left a comment in here, and I have to have the time to visit my weblog to see it.

The comments section IS NOT a way to make demands of me. Its for clarification on the subject matter of its attatched article, or to make a comment pertaining to the article.

If you want my personal help on your problem, you need to use the EMAIL ME link in the top left hand corner of the blog. If you look, its right under the picture of a drunk cat, in that corner. See? Good.

If you want to make demands of me, I only take polite requests, so just don’t bother contacting me if you can’t behave civilized.

Now, if you can’t deal with having to email me and think commenting off topic with “PLEASE HELP ME I AM SAD AND NEED MY EX BACK NOW!!!!!!” on an article regarding the use of poo in Hoodoo is going to get you anything from me or anywhere good with me, all you’re doing is showing me you have no respect for my body of work (obviously didn’t read the article, did you?) and you can’t even think clear enough to use the email link given up top on this page.

I really prefer if you email like “Hello, Cat, I was hoping you could help me, and this is what happened, and this is what I want” (obviously flesh out the “this is what happened, what I want parts with your story,) “so thank you for taking the time to read this, and…” Now if you feel its “urgent” you might close it with “I do feel that time is of the essence, so please kindly answer me at your earliest convenience.” Now you should close in the traditional way, like “Thank you, So-and-so.” So-and-so being in place of your name. πŸ˜‰ You know, behave civilly. I don’t expect a total kiss my ass letter, but I do expect you to behave more like a normal human being with some courtesy and common manners rather than like a spoiled child making demands and screaming at me. If you walked up to me on the street and starting hollering “MY EX IS AN AWFUL PERSON I NEED A CURSE AND I NEED IT NOW AND YOU MUST HELP ME NOW!!!!!!” in my face, I would just walk away from you – maybe even run or call the police. Why? That’s pretty psycho of you to do to someone in the street, right? Same idea here – almost exactly the same idea.

I will block you from commenting if you continue to put off topic comments (you insisting I MUST HELP YOU CUZ YOU ARE SOOOOOO DESPERATE!!! on an article regarding, say, my feelings on skinny jeans,) and if you behave like an irrational, rude, demanding jerk, I’m not going to help you anyhow, or even acknowledge you. Why? Because anyone who would behave that way to a stranger they supposedly want help from is a rude and irrational and probably crazy person who I have no desire to so much as acknowledge.

This hasn’t been a problem til the last 2 days or so, but now I’d figure I’d say. I mean, I’m sort of shocked I have to tell some people this stuff, but…well, I guess I do. πŸ˜›

Summary – if you want my help on a problem, email me, and act with common courtesy. If you want to leave a comment in the comments section, please make sure it pertains to the article you are commenting on (an observation, opinion, or request for clarification on the topic.)

Thank you for taking the time to read this. πŸ™‚

  • IMG_0910 If someone is trying to use spellcraft to get you to return to them, and you’re aware of it and you wish to use spellcraft to keep their reconcilation spellwork from affecting you, I personally recommend that you DO NOT use reversing spellcraft to do so. Why? Because all you’re doing by doing this is likely making them all the more crazy to get you back…since reversing their work back on them generally makes them get affected by their work, right? Right. πŸ˜‰

  • Hey Occulties,

I know how much you guys and gals love the controlling-type spells, so I figured this charm would be popular with you. πŸ˜‰

This particular charm is good if you’d like to give someone a particular idea or command. Allow me to give an example… If I wanted my boss to always think I was a good worker, I might put the command “Cat is a good worker” into his head. Or…if I wanted someone to notice that I’m so hot it’s unholy hotness going on, I might put “Cat is irresistably attractive,” as my idea/command. It should be kept in mind that whatever command you want to give, the influence should be one you are reasonably sure the target would take seriously. The idea is to keep it within the realm of the realistic (so if I decide I want you to think I’m secretly a hippopotamus in human guise, this charm is highly unlikely to create that idea as a serious idea in your head, even if you had curious mental images of me dressed as a hippo going through your mind for awhile.)

    You will need:

A tag or piece of used fabric from a cap worn only by your target (or mostly only – its okay if someone tried it on once or twice, lol,)
    A needle,
    Purple thread,
    A small scrap of paper
    A black pen
    Powdered licorice root
    Powdered star anise
    Poppy seeds
    Commanding oil
    Optional – small box

    Making the charm:

Write the full name of the spell target on your piece of paper. Turn the paper over, and write out a command you’d like your target to follow in the present tense, and avoiding the use of negatives (no, not, never) on this side. For example, if I wanted someone to call me I might write “Call Cat now” for the command. You will want to make this paper as small of a strip as possible.

Secure a tag or piece of fabric from the spell target’s hat. Generally the tag or sweatband is used. Place this fabric flat on your altar. Place a few drops of commanding oil onto the center of the fabric, and sprinkle a pinch of licorice, a pinch of star anise, and a pinch of poppy seeds onto the center of the fabric. Now place your scrap of paper into the center of the fabric – you will probably have to fold this very small, so when you do, always fold TOWARDS you. Fold the fabric in half towards you, and using the purple thread and needle, sew closed the remaining three open sides, using a stich which moves clockwise. When you have finished sewing the ends shut, remove the needle from the thread, and using your hands, continue to wrap the thread clockwise around the tag, making a sort of coccoon for it with your purple thread. As you are sewing and wrapping this item, speak the command over and over. When you’ve wrapped the item up so no fabric is showing through the purple thread, hold the item in both your hands, and, cupping it, breathe out as you say the command like you are breathing into the coccoon. Repeat the breathing the command into your cupped hands action a total of 9 times. Say “My wish is your command, as is my will, so be it!” when you have finished saying the command nine times. Place the cocoon in a safe place where it will not be touched or disturbed. Each day for a total of 9 days (so the first day you created the coccoon is day 1) take the coccoon out, and breathe your command as it is written onto the coccoon, and on the ninth day, you can do one of two things to dispose of the coccoon to make its influence grow: hide the item on or near the target’s property or place of work – a place they are apt to be in close proximity to; or throw the item into some bushes or trees east of your home (catch it in the branches,) in a place it is not like to be found.

The optional small box is for a good quiet place to store the item where it won’t be disturbed. The box can be reused and isn’t meant to be tossed with the coccoon.

There will be questions, so contact me if you have ’em!

  • Hello Occulties,

Apparently there is a huge need for this article, if my inbox is telling me anything true, so let’s get it done. πŸ˜‰

Q: If you could give anyone who never did a reconcilation spell some advice for their first one that would apply to most or all situations, what would it be?

A: First I’d remind them that a reconcilation is quite similar to the initial seduction, so, first and foremost, to drop any melodramatics, acting out, misbehavior, etc. Why? Because if so-and-so would have thought how you’re acting now was unacceptable before you seduced them the first time, guess how it comes off as now? UNACCEPTABLE! (and probably a little crazy.) πŸ˜‰

Second, I’d say to remember that we use spells to effect the PRESENT to bring us to a desired future (manifestation,) and not to bring us backwards in time to the past when we broke up with someone. If you are living in the past, you can’t change the present, so let go of the past…you can have a FUTURE that you want with who you want, but you have to change that future NOW, and since that’s changing it in the PRESENT, that means we need understand that we require time to get to the desired future.

Third, always have faith in yourself, and in your spellwork.

Fourth, despite having faith in said work, always do in the mundane what is best to change the situation to how you want it to be. For example, if I want to reconcile with Hezekiel, the best thing to do is probably to avoid fighting with him, and to avoid using things like emotional manipulation and emotional blackmail. I would also be well advised to keep myself looking attractive, keep myself socially available, etc.

Fifth, acting in haste and desperation will almost always come back to figuratively bite one in the hindquarters. πŸ˜‰ With this in mind, dismiss the unreasonable worries that if you do not get what you want by this week, you will die and the world is over and whatever. πŸ˜‰ Usually when people come to me, no one is dead or dying or even close. Being too eager to get someone back, or too freaked when you realize it might not happen tomorrow (I have known people to act like 2 weeks was a death sentence and tell me that’s too much,) is only going to hurt YOU and make YOU act unreasonable. RELAX! When you start thinking calmly, you may be surprised how fast things work out. See #3.

Sixth, remember changes are like to have to be made when you reconcile to keep the relationship working. A problem caused the split, and the problem will at some time need to be addressed.

And seventh, while you may be right a person or thing is an obstacle, the more you fear it and see it as an obstacle to you getting your ex back, the more strength you give to it. This does also go back to number 3. πŸ˜‰

That’s what’s coming off of the top of my head. πŸ˜‰

Q: What are the best days for reconciliation?

A: The best days for love or reconcilation are, in order of best to acceptable, Friday, Monday, Wednesday. It should be noted that Thursday can be used for controlling work, and some people use controlling work to give a reconciliation work more force.

Q: I am on good terms with my ex, and we’re friends – why does my reconcilation work seem to be floundering?

A: In some cases, there isn’t a need to reconcile because no one is angry or fighting. πŸ˜‰ When you feel like everything between you and your ex is very friendly and that there is little or nothing to “make up” about, I recommend trying love-drawing type spellcraft.

Q: Why do you think calling/contacting the spell target of a reconciliation spell is so bad?

A: To be perfectly fair, unless its part of the spell to not initiate the first contact, I don’t know as I’d say I ALWAYS think its bad to contact one’s ex. If its part of the spell, then its mandatory. However, the other case I feel one SHOULD NOT contact their ex would be if they do not have a positive relationship whatsoever. Like…if you’re best buddies with your ex and see them every day, its weird not to talk to them…but its not usually the case. My personal feelings are that there is nothing positive ever to be gained fromn contacting or continuing to contact a non-responsive party or a party you know is not interested in making contact. Usually an ex wants to be left alone. And why do people REALLY call? I mean…really what it generally ends up being perceived as by the person you’re calling is antagonism and stalking, that the person calling them is emotionally unstable…really its impressing a negative memory of yourself on someone to do that. Crying isn’t sexy, pleading isn’t sexy, ultimatims and emotional blackmail and melodrama? All unsexy. And why else are you calling? They won’t forget you overnight, but if you continue to call your ex all of the time, realize you may just be making yourself be remembered in a bad way.

Q: What, in your opinion, is the best day and moon phase for a reconcilation?

A: I get this question a lot, so might as well post it. πŸ˜‰ IMHO, I would say that in general, the Friday nearest to- but after the new (black) moon (in a waxing/growing phase) in the hour of the moon. Why the moon hour? Because its healing.

Q: What is the spell target thinking/feeling/experiencing from the effects of the spellwork?

A: That is a question that has as many answers as the people who ask it. I know everyone really really really really really wants to know how a spell will manifest or if its working…that is very normal and natural. However, while I might provide a few possible ways the spell might be manifesting by citing past examples of reports given to me by those who have been effected by the use of reconciliation spells or even times I’ve been a target of them and how they felt, I can’t tell you that’s how the spell that you’re casting is going to manifest or work.

Remember, as with all spells, how and why it manifests is answered when the spell manifests, not always (or even all too often) before then. Yeah, I know, what a sucko answer, but its the answer all the same. πŸ˜‰

Q: How will I know if my reconcilation spell worked?

A: Assuming its for you, you’ll know because your ex wants to get back together with you. Admittedly, someone could be wanting to go back to you and fighting that urge, or even not showing you that’s how they feel, but just because someone is effected by the spell, that doesn’t mean its worked in the sense that it was successful in how you’d wanted it to be.

Q: Can you make a spell or do you know of a spell where someone returns to me and then asks me to marry them?

A: While I know both reconcilation spells and marriage spells, I would say you might want to be sure the person you’re dating wants to date you and is happy with you in a happy and committed relationship for a few months before you start clamoring for marriage. πŸ˜‰ In other words stop getting ahead of yourself, and fix the relationship first, then be COMFORTABLE in that relationship before you even consider marriage spellcraft.

Q: If my first and second reconcilation spells don’t seem to have any effect, should I give up?

A: I feel that its time to give up if you answer YES to any of the following three questions:

*Has your desire to be with this person taken over your life to such an extent as damaging personal relationships with others, or with harming your work performance?

*Are you considering harming the object of your desire because you feel they “must” come to you and be yours, or “pay” for not coming to you? (For example, “Love me, or else!”)

*Is the object of your affections someone who was and still is married or engaged to another person?

If you didn’t answer yes to the above, then I would not say you definitely SHOULD give up, and its up to you to decide if you no longer wish to persue the person, or, if you feel you’ve put enough effort into it and wish to put no more effort into it. I don’t think 2 spells which you probably didn’t give enough time to work (most people ask me this after like 10 days after spellcasting, lol,) should be the sole determining factor the feasibility of the situation working out in your favor, but if it tries your patience too much or is something you feel no longer appeals to you as a goal for yourself, then by all means, stop spellcasting on the person to bring them back.

Alright, this is by no means the finite list of recon questions people ask me, but I hope its been of some assistance. πŸ™‚

  • To help protect yourself against harmful spells against you, keep a sprig of rue herb wrapped in a white piece of cloth in your left pants pocket. While this is not a guarantee against being harmed, it does really help…think of it sort of like a seatbelt in a car. It doesn’t guarantee you’re not going to get killed in a crash, but it can still save your life or lessen injury. Same here – its not the total protection against dark work, but it can lessen the effect or may even entirely prohibit the harmful energies from causing you any damage. πŸ™‚

  • Oh, my little nit-pickers and over-analyzers… I was INSPIRED today by someone who was the literal living breathing thinking-it-to-death definition to point this out to all of you….

Sometimes people get very hung up on the little details…so much so that they can’t see the bigger picture, but claim they are trying to by figuring out how the little things fit together…and they get so focused on those details they do not see the biggest picture.

Today our teacher is Seurat, the guy who used those dots to paint. Now, first, let’s look at a Seurat painting and see the whole picture:

    1seu

Why thank you Georges Seurat – what a lovely image of a 19th century day at the park we have here.

Some of you may remember this image from Cameron’s freak out in the museum in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off where he keeps looking at the painting, and he just starts seeing dots…which is bringing me to my point (I have one.) Here, let’s take a close up of one of Seurat’s paintings, shall we:

    2Seu

Now, I want you to, on your monitor, if you can, just focus on like a centimeter square of that image above.

If you do that, can you tell me what the fork you’re looking at (had I not already made a point of telling you)? No? But those are the little ittle bittle details. Shouldn’t you be able to tell me with your face mashed up really really really tight to that picture what you’re looking at and how those dots correlate to each other to make a bigger picture, just from staring at one teeny centemeter of the image? You couldn’t tell me then? I’m being mean, am I?

Stop giving me dirty looks, I’m teaching you something about life and using art to do so, and most people need to attend college for that. πŸ˜‰

Now, lets break this down a bit more… Lets say there are three types of people. The first type can only see a centemeter of that painting at a time and they need to be uber close up to it. They struggle to figure out if this is an image, or if this is just a lot of dots. They struggle to figure out why this dot is here that color dot is there, but because they are so focused on such a small part, all they see is colored dots. The second type can see the picture as a whole, but finds themselves intrigued by its pointillism (such an annoying way to try to paint, been there done that,) so they do also look closer to see the dots, then back again to see the picture, then look at the dots, and then, giving one more appreciative glance at the masterpiece (the whole picture, not the dots,) has now an idea of how the painting was made, but also appreciates the picture for the image it is showing them (ie the whole compostion). Now the third type, they are too blind to see the dots – they glance at the picture, see the day in the park, and move on. They do not seek any little details, in other words.

Now, type one? They are neurotic worriers and over analyzers, constantly trying to pick out the bigger picture by too close of an examination. As best I understand, they feel that by seeing the teeny weeny details and not the big picture, that the big picture will, at some point, fall into place.

Type three is someone who is careless and unobservant to want to heed the little details. They do not interest themselves in anything. This person isn’t highly neurotic like type one, but being so heedless is also not the best idea in life, as one day you might miss something interesting and important, and also, without taking any time to really observe, you’re less apt to retain the information, IMHO. I would still say, being a type three is far superior to type one – type one is gonna be staring at the dots for the next 25 years and saying “I think maybe I get it!” whereas type three has left the museum 25 years ago and barely remembers seeing anything there. πŸ˜‰

Type two is someone who can appreciate the smaller details, but understands to see the big picture, the whole picture, one must stop focusing on just the little details. They do know the dots (little details) are put together in such a way to create a bigger image, but that while this is interesting, its the whole picture which we are meant to see.

Listen, I know its difficult sometimes when you want to get the bigger picture and you think the little details are the answer. Sometimes there is a hidden gem of knowledge in those details, but usually its just like standing with your eye against a Seurat painting – you won’t see anything worthy until you stop focusing tightly on the little whys and wherefores, and move back a bit to see the whole big picture.

If you choose to get so hung up on why, why, why, how, how, how, and what, what, what, you’re going to be stuck like the type one person wondering why this dot is orange and that dot is green and how that fits together. You like to think things so unto death, that if you compare your life to what I’m speaking about here, you will reduce a masterpiece to nothing more than random colored dots on a canvas.

The type one person thinks their spellwork and their life to death. They wonder things like “If I went out 3 minutes later, would I have missed meeting so and so, and if I missed them, would I have ever met them? Would I have met them at this or that time? And if so, how? Would their attitude have been different then? And if it was why and how?” (This keeps going for an etenity.) This is so unhealthy. Its so bad.

With spells, when you act as a type one (but what will happen if I do this? And if I do this? And could this be the outcome of that, or will I suffer some dire consequence as an effect of these,) you’re going to worry yourself into a corner. You’re so intent on worrying something down to nothing, that if I compared your spells and life to a piece of fabric, you’d have rubbed that fabric apart til it was threads, then worried those threads apart to fibers, then the fibers unto dust. In the end, you get nothing, not even a lot answers. While a quick examination of the figurative piece of fabric we spoke of might have told you how it was woven or knitted together, and of what fiber content it was made of, instead its now ruined because you’ve rubbed and pulled and eyeballed because you could not just look at it for a few minutes. You needed to know if the fiber (say its cotton) was Egyptian or American cotton, and thought pulling and pawing would tell you, then you needed to know what state in America the cotton came from, and then what county, then what town, then what farm….all of this because you think it makes a huge difference, but when you really consider it, doesn’t have much to do with much. πŸ˜‰ I’m presuming if you’d wanted to make that piece of fabric into a shirt, you’ve now more or less ruined the thing just for want of knowing trivial facts.

Let’s go back to our type one staring at the painting for a minute. So, let’s say the museum represents life in general, and we’re all alotted say, 2 hours in the museum (a life span,) and our people (the one, two, and three,) represent our life energy and movement through life. Now, type one – their life doesn’t go anywhere – they are to stuck on itty bitty details. They tend to have miserable lives that don’t go very far and these are the folks I’m always telling you about who just make their lives turn into a big unchanging rut. They are stuck on the one place for wont of just absorbing the little details, so they often do not move to the other opportunities, the other great things around them. Type threes on the other hand, go through things so quickly, there is no appreciation and nothing learned. In essence, things slide right off their back, but they don’t retain enough knowledge and often end up feeling life was rather hollow and unfulfilling. Type two likes to see the details, but also wants to see all the great things there are to see. If there’s only 2 hours in a giant art museum, you gotta go see those Van Goghs (uh oh, type one THE LINES THE LINES, HOW DO THEY FIT TOGETHER, I’m stuck so close I only see lines!!!) and the Monets (LINES, MORE LINES!) and the Rembrandts…and lets get some really old masters in here…. the DaVincis, and the Giottos, and the Michaelangelos…and they also go off to see the Terracotta Army of Qin, and the amazing pieces that the museum is housing from the tomb of Tutenkhamen, etc. Type two is appreciative of the creating of a piece, of the details, of the history, but not to such a degree that they can’t help but get stuck on a itty bitty tiny little spot for hours at an end. In the same respect, they are not so uncaring as to say “Hmm, pretty…what’s next,” for every display. They are interested in the things that life and the world have to teach them, and they want to absorb the information without becoming obsessed with the tiny details of one or two moments of life.

Are you guys getting what I’m saying? You can worry things to death so they don’t happen or you manifest your worries for want of figuring out if the fact Janet had pepperoni pizza on a friday in 1998 might have somehow led to a course of events that now created her leaving you (type one,) or you can miss that manifestation happened altogether or how to bring the manifestation because you couldn’t be bothered to take a moment to consider how to do it (type three) or you can just find a nice middle ground and focus enough to see the factors that created the situation, without focusing so hard you can’t see the forest for the trees.

I hope I haven’t confused you all more.

I guess in essence, what I’m trying to impart is, if you want to see the big picture, stop worrying so much about what itty bitty events led to the big picture. There will be times when you do see quite clearly the chain of events from the small to the large, but by constant over analyzation and too close focus, you never can see very well. There will be times for all of us when we focus to close and can’t seperate ourselves enough to see what’s going on, but those are the times to pull back, push the little details aside and look at the bigger picture.

Alright, well, hopefully I did help some of you. I could also apply Seurat to the bastardized ideals of karma most Westerners believe in, but I’ll take pity on you and I pray you digest this very very large pearl of wisdom.

UPDATED TO ADD: Wow, okay that was fast. Alright, someone wanted me to clarify something, so I figure more of you might want me to. πŸ˜‰ Here goes… What I’m trying to impart to all of you is not that you will always be in one of the three “types” I listed. We all have type one moments even if we’re not usually like a type one, and we all have type three moments even if we’re not usually a type three. What I want you to understand is that if you can identify type one or type three behaviors going on in you, to try to remedy this and find a happier medium.

I would say when it comes to advanced algebra, I’m a total type three. You can explain and explain and I might get it for like ten minutes, but I really just can’t absorb it. Its like I’m like “That’s great. What’s next?” I am also a type three when it comes to cars. I don’t care about that make or model or anything. Its “Whoop de do, what’s next” when we get to that topic, too. πŸ˜‰

When it comes to Bourbons in the 18th century in France (I’m a huge history buff,) I’m a complete type one at times. I have to know what jacket the King wore to this fete, and I have to know who was sitting in the second row next to this duc or that comte. Its neurotic. Its a fixation. I do pull back enough to see the greater picture, but often I want to close in and know the motives and thoughts for everything about that time. I could bore you senseless on the whys and wherefores of people who’ve been dead for three hundred years. πŸ˜‰

I try to remain a “type two” about my life in general and my spells. This doesn’t mean I never work myself into a frustration and/or fixation and go all type one, and this doesn’t mean I was never just cavalier and unobservant and going all type three about things in my life or spells…of course I have been. πŸ˜‰

What I’m trying to point out to you is that type one people (if on average you are type one,) tend to get too caught up in the little things to really make any impact other than to worry things to death. They can’t figure out the motives of something, so they have to pick it apart til they do. They can’t bear to let a spell manifest, because they have to think about its impact and what MIGHT happen or what WON’T happen – its like an unreasonable level of analyzation, not like 20 minutes one day, you did wonder about something a bit and think about it. πŸ˜‰

Type three (if on average you are a type three) tend to do stupid things with spells like “Oh, I couldn’t be bothered to find this or that item, so I omitted it, and then I couldn’t be bothered to check what the effect of using this might have, so I just did it, and now I can’t figure out why my spell didn’t work,) or in life they can’t be bothered to remember that…oh, that they learned once that so and so had a really bad experience with a guy in a ski mask, so they are dumbfounded when so and so gets upset when Mr or Ms Type Three picks them up wearing a ski mask…because they couldn’t be bothered to retain the information or analyze that actions have consequences, etc.

Am I confusing people more? Perhaps…

Dumbing it down as far as I can, I’ll put it like this: find a happy medium where you pay attention, but not to the degree that you can no longer tell what you’re paying attention to because you’re too focused on the little things.

    Does that help?

  • Hi everyone,

Just a note to say if I’ve not answered an email of yours which was sent PRIOR TO January 4, 2010, please resubmit your email. Unfortunately, when I’m on vacation, guess what happens…email builds up! πŸ˜‰ Well, if I do not get to certain people in a short period of time, they often either ask someone else their question or they find someone else to provide a requested service. I do try to respond to everyone but sometimes thanks to the unweildy traffic jam of email, some emails may get lost or untagged, and then they don’t get followed up on. πŸ˜› So, if you’ve not heard from me and your email is from before the 4th January, and you are still interested in hearing from me, please resubmit your email.

Right now, I am experiencing longer wait time thanks to trying to finish up my vacation work, so I also apologize to those of you who sent me an email this week and have had to wait longer than usual for a reply. I’m reasonably certain I’ve gotten caught up on the vacation work and am working overtime to respond to everyone as fast as I can. Thank you for your patience.
